Ready, Set, Glam
December’s edition of Birchbox* [gifted] comes in a glitzy make-up bag packed with beauty goodies to help you to prepare for the party season.
There are 7 beauty products to try this month. Eagle-eyed readers will already have spotted in the photo below that I’ve only photographed 6 of the samples. So, let’s start with the one that’s missing…
Percy & Reed Reassuringly Firm Sessions Hold Hairspray
Conveniently, December’s Birchbox arrived the day before I was going out for team drinks after work, so I was really pleased that a travel sized can of hairspray was included in this month’s edition.
I had crammed my party outfit, shoes, accessories, and make-up (plus the kitchen sink) into one single tote bag. So naturally, any travel-sized beauty products went straight in there to make sure the bag I was hoying back and forth on the train, to and from the office could be as light as possible (spoiler alert: it was heavy).
My hair is always so annoyingly static so I’ve kept the hairspray in my drawer at work. It’s an ultra fine formula to create a hold without the crunchy or greasiness.
Daily Concepts Mother of Pearl Soap Sponge
This is a cleanser sponge with a gentle exfoliator so you can buff away the impurities for a more radiant glow. I’m sure I’m not alone in admitting that I’ve been so busy that I’ve not had time to stick to my weekly of at-home mask routine this month, resulting to dull, stressed-out skin.
But a product like the Daily Concepts Mother of Pearl Soap Sponge will help bring me back to life until I have a spare hour over the weekend to resume my skincare pamper sessions!
Polaar Northern Light Smoothing Cream
Polaar derives from scientific research in the polar world thanks to it’s family’s exploration of the Arctic world. Using unique formulations and powerful ingredients from the Arctic circle including glacial water and arctic cotton.
Polaar’s Northern Light Smoothing Cream features a vitamin C rich ingredient, Siberian olive to revive lacklustre winter skin. The full size jar costs £38.68 so it’s great to be able to try this cream before committing to the product.
Rituals The Ritual of Ayurveda Shower Oil
One of the first samples I received when I first subscribed to beauty boxes was a full size Rituals shower foam in the Ayurveda scent and I’ve been a customer ever since. Their shower foams and foot scrubs are my fave but the shower oils are great, especially as it gives the added benefit of moisturising your skin.
The Ritual of Ayurveda is delicately fragranced with Indian rose and sweet almond. If you’ve only just come across Rituals for the first time, this is the best scent from their range to get you hooked!
Forgive Me Suzie Eyeshadow Palette
How nice are the shades in this Forgive Me Suzie palette! Featuring 5 warm gold-brown-bronze shades, this compact eyeshadow palette is perfect for parties and nights out.
I can’t seem to find any other information on this brand other than they’re new, british, suitable for vegan and these palettes are exclusive to Birchbox. Can’t wait to see what Forgive Me Suzie are about to unleash in to the beauty world.
Birchbox Eyeshadow Brush
I have accumulated SO many make-up brushes I’ve yet to clean (literally cba) so I’m happy to receive a new one via Birchbox which will delay the task of cleaning my brushes for about another week!
Candy Kitten Wild Strawberry Sweets
Almost ripped the bonus item before photographing them (bad blogger!) but I manage to resist.
I’ve tried a few Candy Kitten flavours and I’ve not taken to them but the Wild Strawberry gummies were nice, it provided a much-needed pick-me-up during that 3pm slump at work.
Birchbox cost £10 per month plus P&P for up to 5 beauty products to try. Fancy trying it out? Subscribe here. You can cancel any time.
