Affordable Neutrogena Beauty Products

You’ll always see an equal balance of high end and affordable brands on my blog, I like to have a good balance! But, basically, the rule of thumb is that if it’s effective and shows results, then I’m going to recommend it regardless to the brand and what the price point is.
Affordable beauty is one of the most popular section of my blog (you can see similar posts here) and today I’ve got a really good one for you! Neutrogena is this week’s brand focus; they provide such a wide range of products to help you troubleshoot your skin woes- and I thought I’d have a go and see how I get on.
I’ve been happy with how my skin has been for the past 6 months or so (it has been hard work!), but every now and then, I will have break-outs. It’s inevitable, it’s just one of those things. I can almost predict when it’s coming to… I’m quite in-sync with my body like that. This tends to be after I’ve applied foundation on with a brush I shouldn’t have used (oops!), environmental factors such as pollution after spending time in a city (yuck!), stress, hormones, or diet (meh, meh, and meh). Nothing out of the ordinary as you can see. Sometimes you just get hit with spots. It’s completely natural and everyone gets them.
For those troublesome phases, I like to have a particular type of products on standby to treat my skin and as a trusted brand, Neutrogena has helped me (and millions of others around the world!) to get clearer looking skin. They’re incredibly effective and super affordable too.

For Daily Use: I recommend Neutrogena Naturals Range

Made from 90% to 97% natural ingredients (varies from product to product), cruelty-free, and free from harsh ingredients such as sulphates, parabens, petroleum, dyes and phthalates, this range ticks all the boxes for me.
The Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser (£6.09) is a gel formula and I use this on the evening after getting home from work to remove my make-up (not the eye area) and generally wash the entire day away! Impurities from the skin is eliminated, my pores detoxified, and my face feels fresh after using this cleanser. It is fragranced but it’s got a light, fruity kick so it’s not overly powering or offensive to the nostrils!
From the same range, I’ve been using the Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Moisturizer (£12.27). Which vitamins have they used, I hear you ask? It’s vitamins B, C and E.
Vitamin B improves the ability to retain moisture, vitamin C and E have anti-ageing properties – it’s shields, protects, and fights off free radical damage to help you maintain a more youthful looking appearance. The non-sticky, non-greasy face moisturiser is also non-comedogenic (meaning it doesn’t block pores) as with all of the products featured in this blogpost.

For Treatment Use: I recommend Neutrogena Deep Clean

 and Rapid Clear Range

I can see a huge difference in my skin now than when I was in my 20s, I’m wearing less make-up, I’m cleaning my make-up brushes more regularly and effectively (trying to!), I change my pillow covers once a week, and I stick to a strict a twice-daily skincare routine. It’s the small things.
But as I mentioned above, spots will appear when you least expect them to and for when that happens, I AM READY. So, the Deep Clean® Cream Cleanser does exactly what it says on the tube. It’s a cream cleanser that cleans deep down the pores. The key ingredient is the beta hydroxy acid that de-clogs, deep cleanses, and transforms lack-lustre skin to a radiant looking complexion.
Neutrogena’s Rapid Clear range is an acne medication treatment. I didn’t fully realise this when I added it to my shopping basket. Usually when I’m in Boots, I tend to pick up a couple of spot treatments either in a small tube form or a rollerball – something along those lines where I can pop in to my handbag and dab on problem areas throughout the day.
So, I was keen to try Neutrogena’s Rapid Clean® Spot Gel (£7.41) contains active ingredient 10% of Benzoyl Peroxide which promises to reduce the size of spots and redness within 2 hours. I only apply to targets areas and it works by drying out spots. It’s fast working and one of the best spot gels I have used so far. I usually spent £10 or less on blemish sticks and they lasts for ages. Rapid Clean Spot Gel has an expiry date of 2019!
I have to admit, the oil-free Rapid Clear® Acne Defense Face Lotion (£6.67) is a little too extreme for my skin. I do wish I had swapped it for a Neutrogena Night Cream or something. But never mind!
It contains 2% Salicylic Acid and again, works to absorb and dry excess oil on the surface of the skin, helping to treat and prevent break-outs. This face cream is developed to reduce full face acne severity, size and swelling of pimples, and redness – resulting to a more calmer skin within 8 hours of application.

For All-Year-Round Use: I recommend Neutrogena Healthy Skin MakeUp Range

Non-comedogenic base make-up products are the best. That means you can apply with the confidence of knowing that it won’t clog your pores! Another bonus is when base products contains sunscreen.
Lo and behold, both of the Neutrogena Healthy Make Up® cosmetic items pictured are non-comedogenic and contains SPF! I may be wrong but I’m not sure where this range is stocked in the UK, or whether it’s even available to buy here. I’ve never seen it before – I’m pretty observant when it comes to beauty.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Primer with SPF 15 (£9.80) helps to prep your skin for a smoother surface that makes your foundation and setting powder sit flawlessly throughout the day. Even with SPF, it isn’t sticky, heavy, or tacky, it feels natural, lightweight and provides a healthy sheen to your skin’s appearance. It’s an incredible primer, I’m in LOVE with it because how gorgeous is makes my skin look.
It’s hard to pin down what the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid MakeUp (shade Classic Ivory 10) is exactly, as it doesn’t explicitly claim that it’s a tinted moisturiser, liquid foundation, or even a BB or CC cream.

After using it, it has the quality of all of them combined; it has the light silkiness of a tinted moisturiser, the medium coverage of a liquid foundation, and of course, a BB products are a hybrid of all these things in one (tinted moisturiser, foundation, sunscreen, concealer). It’s a bottle of wonder (making me wonder what it actually is!). I won’t spend too much time pondering about it because all that matters is how great it makes my skin look. It’s not cakey or heavy, my skin feels breathable and dewy. This range certainly lives up to it’s name ‘Healthy Skin’. No clinging, blends incredibly well, and again, just like the primer, the Liquid Make-Up enhances my skin, covers up imperfections and makes my skin look great. Possibly one of the best BB Cream/Foundation hybrid product I have EVER used.

I’m really surprised by this make-up range, it’s love at first sight. You always know straight away with base products whether you’re going to get along with it or not.
