I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog front lately, haven’t I? I’ve been working on a lot of things “behind the scenes” – nothing exciting, it’s just work! – but it has made my put the blog on the backburner. I’ve been feeling mega guilty about it, so I am hoping to get back in to a routine.
I have been trying lots of beauty products and I’ve been up to a lot of exciting non-worky stuff, I just need to get my butt in gear and blog about them! I thought I’d start with the easiest; my current favourites products. Products I’ve been loving lately and want to recommend.
The warmth of the Summer is doing wonders to my skin, it’s the best it has ever been (touch wood). It has never been so clear but actually, I do have my stash of beauty products to thank for. As I rummage through my rather (embarrassingly) large collection of lotions and potions, I can reach for products that will fix any of my skin woes; whether this be an oily T-zone, dry patches, blemishes, or general dullness.
Looking after my skin has become a top priority for me, especially now that I’m in my 30’s. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing or where I am, I will do my skincare routine twice daily – without fail. I think the results are paying off as I am telling people at work that I’m 22 and they actually believe me. Brilliant! “What’s your secret?” they ask me. A solid skincare routine, I tell them.

I always incorporate a few extras to my skincare routine, so as well as the basics (cleanse, tone, and moisturise), I also add essence waters, serums, oils, spf, etc etc.
Bio-Essence 24k Bio-Gold Range
The incredibly Instagrammable Miracle Finisher and Gold Water by Bio-Essence have been miracle workers (
available at Superdrug). I use the Gold Water (£16.99) in lieu of toner as it gives the similar results; Gold Water tighten pores, plump out fine lines, softens, mattefies, energize, and gives skin a luminous gold. It is a unique fusion of 24k bio gold and herbal extracts to protect skin from free radicals and signs of ageing.

Bio-Essence Miracle Finisher (£29.99) is applied after face moisturiser as a last step to the routine. The lightweight cream protects your skin from pollutants and potentially harmful cosmetic ingredients by forming a layer over skin. Don’t worry, that isn’t as grim and sci-fi as it sounds. It’s like a light cream that has a matte finish and sinks in straight away. It keeps the shine away and makes my skin feel amazing throughout the day!
Skin Laundry
I cracked the Skin Laundry’s Clarifying Toner (£20 –
shop here) as soon as I finished my travel sized bottle of Pixie Beauty Glow Tonic. The Glow Tonic is a tough act to follow but Skin Laundry’s Clarifying Toner (available in Liberty London) has been great for my skin. It’s refreshing, gentle, and balancing. As with the Bio-Essence products I have mentioned above, the Clarifying Toner features antioxidants to protect skin from free radical damage – a top tip in keeping skin looking youthful and healthy.
The toner also restores natural pH and with one of it’s key ingredient being Aloe Vera Juice, it give your skin a boost of hydration. I’m impressed with this toner, and I am very picky when it comes to this part of my skincare routine.
Nyasa London

p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 12.0px Helvetica; color: #454545; min-height: 14.0px}
This soothing liquid gel serum is a dream to use. At £80 per bottle (
shop here), it is pricy, but it you only need a couple of drops per use, so it will last a good 8 months! Some of the active ingredients in Nyasa London Luminosity Illuminating Super Serum are AHA Fruit Acids, Liquorice Extract, Ylang Ylang, Neroli, Mandarin and Bergamot essential oils. This brightens and gives your skin a boost in radiance and luminosity. So if you’re skin is looking dull and tired, the serum will sort you right out – with immediate results.
iS CLINICAL
Before I started opened Nyasa Illuminating Super Serum, I was using iS Clinical’s Hydra-Cool Serum (£48 –
shop here). I was introduced to the cult LA brand in April and was recommended the Hydra-Cool Serum which soothes dry and sensitive skin. The benefit of using a serum is that they can large specific skin issues. At the time, during Spring, my skin was more dry than usual so I took them up on their recommendation.

It really did work in providing my skin with an intense boost of hydration. I couldn’t get enough of it. It has a blend of mushroom extract, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and soothing menthol. The mushroom extract and method helped in keeping spots under control, and ever since I’ve been using this iS Clinical serum, I haven’t had any spots at all.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Fluide
I’ve got my face care routine as a high priority but when it comes to moisturising the rest of my body… not so much. It’s such a chore as you have to sit and wait for it to absorb before getting dressed, and sometimes I don’t have the time after a shower in the morning. It’s like the complete opposite attitude to my skincare regime. Using body lotion is such a chore, in my opinion. But it’s easy and effortless if the cream is as light as
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Fluide (£28 –
shop here). I apply and forget that it’s even on me, it’s that light.
p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 12.0px Helvetica; color: #454545}
p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 12.0px Helvetica; color: #454545; min-height: 14.0px}
I also like that it isn’t heavily fragranced either. I don’t mind a scented body cream but sometimes I just want to use one that is near-odourless. Lait-Creme Fluide is for all skin types and restores the moisture that your skin needs. This multi-function moisturiser can also be used as a make-up remover, after sun cream, after-shave care and baby-care product. It’s a good job it comes in a huge 500ml bottle, then!
Samaya
I use Samaya Vata Anti-Ageing Treatment Oil (£79 –
shop here) on the evenings as it has a calming aroma that’s created for a deep sense of tranquility. When I use this oil, I know I’m going to wake up with soft, healthy, glowing skin.
The formula includes rose flower extract (anti-ageing), rose geranium oil (antiseptic and anti-inflammatory), tulsi oil (anti-bacterial), sandalwood oil (restorative and calming), turmeric root oil (a powerful antioxidant), ashwagandha root extract (stress reliever and energy restorer) and pomegranate seed oil (helps to nourish skin). You can see why I wake up with good skin after using this treatment oil, it’s got a blend of all the good stuff!

Samaya is a fantastic skincare brand and if you’re new to it, you can

Palmer’s Multi-Effect Perfecting Facial Oil
Palmer’s have recently launched a new skincare range and I’ve been lucky enough to try it out. I have lots more to blog about but for now, I want to recommend you their facial oil.
At £9.99, the Multi-Effect Perfecting Facial Oil (
shop here) is an incredibly affordable price point for a facial oil. It even contains retinol – a vitamin A that gives effective results in improving your skin’s appearance.
If you’re familiar with Palmer’s products, you can imagine how lovely this smells. It’s key ingredients include cocoa butter (of course!), retinol, vitamin E and vitamin C – with a blend of argan oil, macadamia nut oil, apricot oil, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, sesame oil and grapeseed oil. Phew.
Palmer’s non-comedogenic facial oil is developed to keep your skin healthy, firm and supple!
Oral-B Pro 2500
I’ve been using electric toothbrushes for well over 15 years and when mine broke, I asked for a new one for my birthday. My Mum bought me a top of the range one (which was on offer, yay!) and I honestly could never go back to a regular toothbrush. But sometimes I have to make do with one when I forget to pack my electric toothbrush… which is pretty much ALL the time. I stay at my Mum’s one day a week and I always forget it, so when
Pure Smiles offered to gift me a dentist-recommended Oral-B Pro 2500, I was like OMG YES PLEASE.
They’re available in a range of price points – the Oral-B Pro 2500 retails on
Amazon for £34.00, so depending on what you can afford, there is one to suit your budget. I highly recommend an electric toothbrush for it’s effectiveness. If you’re real fancy, you can get a full set of the brush heads (there’s more than you realise!) and get your gnashers real squeaky clean.
The Oral-B Pro 2500 features a CrossAction brush head with angled bristles, 3D movement cleaning system which oscillates, rotates and pulsates, a 2 minute timer with 30 second intervals, and comes with a travel case. It’s really not bad for the price, and in my experience, electric toothbrushes lasts for around 2-3 years before the mechanics/battery get a little tired.
What beauty products have you been loving lately?
It is nice to see your blog in my feed, I do miss your posts – although I am guilty of not posting as often as I'd like either.
I have been using a SAMAYA moisturiser and I love it and the brand is very interesting too but the products have quite a hefty price tag.
