YSL Beauty Volupte Tint-In-Balm | Two Formulas, Double The Benefits
The amount I bang on about
YSL Beauty Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks on
my Instagram, it’s no secret that I adore them. I’ve passed on the obsession to my Mum who has a bigger collection of
YSL Beauty lipsticks than me… which makes her really easy to gift on special occasions like birthdays and Mother’s Day!
It was this very recent trip to the YSL Beauty counter, a few days before Mother’s Day, when I spotted the new “double hybrid” Volupte Tint-In-Balm*. It has the same dreamy outer packaging as Volupte Rouge except it’s silver instead of gold. I had wondered what else was different about it.
Well, quite visibly, there are two parts to the bullet. The outer shell delivers a glowing, glossy, juicy sheer colour whilst the cute little lip-shaped core adds the nourishing balm care. Combining the both gives a vivid yet transparent colour pay-off.
YSL Beauty Volupte Tint-In-Balm are available in 12 shades formulated with rich, moisturising butters and oils, including jojoba oil, coriander, macadamia oil, apricots, passions fruit and pomegranate. You can imagine how yummy this smells! For all the coriander haters out there, I know how intense the hate for coriander can be because my sister absolutely despises it (lol I might give her one of these as a prank and then tell her it has coriander in it) but I promise you that the scent of coriander is totally undetectable!
If you don’t like sheer or glossy lipsticks, then these won’t be for you, sadly.
They are sheer so it’s definitely suitable for every day wear. It adds a subtle, but noticeable colour to your lips. The colour is heavier than your standard tinted lip balm and the finish is really glossy, but it essentially, a tinted lip balm.
£27 is expensive for a tinted lip balm but this isn’t just any old tinted lip balm. It’s a YSL tinted lip balm!
The way that I see it is that if you buy a shade that you can use every day then you can justify the purchase! Some may argue that it’s not worth it for something that’s not mega BOLD, but then again, not every one prefers a bold lip – and I am one of those people. I’ve had many people in the past leaving comments on my blogposts saying that they don’t have the confidence to wear bright lipsticks. If that sounds like you then these new YSL Tint-In-Balms might be right up your street.
I don’t wear a lot of make up during the day (makes me want to claw my skin off by 5pm) which means I don’t tend to opt for a bright lipstick, but I do have to wear something on my lip otherwise I feel like something is missing! Like something isn’t quite right! Is anyone else the same?
Generally, I tend to sway towards sheer lipsticks for day time wear and at the moment, I have more sheers than any other. For me, because my lips are so dry, I’m more about the comfort, and these are comfortable and nourishing.
I’m such a YSL Beauty fan girl and their cosmetics make you feel so special, and whilst I wouldn’t go mad over these new Tint-In-Balms and collect them all like I have done with the Rouge Volupte Shine, I reckon that I’m actually going to get more out of the Tint-In-Balms as it’s so suitable for daily wear.
They’re great for the days when I’m wearing minimal make-up for work and don’t require a heavily coloured lip. I can see this being one of my handbag beauty essentials! It fades in to a nice tint too! The more you apply and reapply, the more intense the tint.

omg your photos <333
These really do look absolutely gorgeous. I am a huge lip balm kind of girl, it would be nice to have something a little bit more luxurious.
These look so great! x

Your photos are so beautiful, using you as my blogging inspiration!
omg, how beautifull!
Sadly, I can't justify the price for a fancy tinted lipbalm, even if its YSL.
Don't get me wrong, I own few ysl lipsticks and love them, but I'd rather go for something which has more color 😉
These are so pretty & I like that they offer a light wash of colour & have a hydrating element to them. Perfect for Spring / Summer
