What I Got For Christmas

I fully appreciate that I am not the easiest person to buy presents for (not because I’m fussy, but because I already have a lot of stuff) but I am easily pleased and every single Christmas, my family and friends get it 100% right! And just like each year, everything I got this Christmas are sooooo me. Don’t you think?!

reindeer slippers

Fluffy Slippers

I go through so many slippers and need a new pair every few months, so it’s a gift that I’m really happy to receive every Christmas. I absolutely adore these reindeer slippers, they are SO cute! And they feel very soft and fluffy too. I can’t wait to start wearing them!
lush bathbomb christmas present

Lush Bathbombs

You can’t go wrong with Lush bathbombs! Everyone loves a Lush bathbomb, don’t they? (If their Boxing Day sale is anything to go by… It’s a sore point for some so I’ll say no more). I didn’t get sucked in to their Boxing Day sale drama but I did get a few bits for Christmas plus some other things I treated myself to on a shopping trip earlier this month, so I’ll do a proper Lush haul post very soon!
golden pineapple ornament homeware

Golden Pineapple

I love these types of things to place around my flat, but they also come in handy as proper for blog photos! My cousin knows how obsessed I am with pineapple related things. I love anything with pineapple or cactus on.

pineapple print duvet cover set

Pineapple Duvet Set

For so long, I have been buying plain white bed sheets but I’m totally bored of it now, and so recently I started buying more colourful sets again. This pineapple print set is totally perfect!!

rose gold laptop cover case

Laptop Case

I got my laptop earlier in the year when my old one conked out but I didn’t get round to buying a case for it. I’ve been wrapping it in scarves and jumpers… until now! My dad bought me a lovely rose gold case which covers the top and bottom. I also got a sleeve too.
selfie ring light for phones

Selfie Ring Light

This is going to come in handy but I won’t be using it for selfies. You know when you’re in a dimly lit restaurant and you want to take a pic of your food? Yeah, that’s what I’ll be using it for. I know, I’m annoying.

Kurt Geiger Dazzle Shoes

Kurt Geiger Dazzle Shoes

My little sis got me these! I don’t have any smart shoes like this that have a low enough heel to wear casually. They’re velvet so I will need to wait until it’s a dry day, but they’re a lovely pair of black shoes and I can’t wait to break them in.

a year of inspiration pad

The BEST notepad ever

This notepad combines some of my favourite things. The fact that it’s stationery means I’ll instantly love it anyway. But each of the 365 pages features an inspirational quote and I’ve got a feeling we’re all going to need this in 2017.
The first page is ‘You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream‘ which is apt for me because I have spent the past year thinking that I’m getting to an age where I’m too old to do certain things when that’s just not true at all. For example, vlogging being one of them. I just don’t have the confidence to do YouTube videos but I feel like I have missed the boat anyway. It’s a stupid excuse and I will need to get over that way of thinking.
I might use this notepad to write down three things that I am grateful for each day. Start each day with a grateful heart and you have no idea how much this changes your mindset.

the mindfulness journal

 The Mindfulness Journal

I’ve had to adapt after some big (and sudden) changes. I wouldn’t call it a struggle – more of a challenge –  but I recognised that I needed to be kinder to myself, and just give it time for things to untangle on it’s own.
It is the reason why I’ve been into mindfulness, well-being and self-care this year, it has helped me to cope, and it is something that I’m keen to carry through to 2017.
In the past two years, I’ve been able to do things I didn’t think I’d be able to do, so I can actually look back with my head held high and think of the things that I have achieved rather than dwell on the negative things that have occurred. I just don’t have time for that!! Life is too short.
I am happy that I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone, been focusing on the positive and happy things, cutting out negative energy around me, and I have even tried meditation!
The Mindfulness Journal is such a thoughtful gift from my gal pal, Beth, because it relates to all the things I’ve been doing lately. It will continue to help me keep calm and carry on.
I hope you all got what you asked for this Christmas!
