Now this is a cult beauty favourite amongst a lot of ladies and it probably that needs no introduction – but can you believe that this is the first time I’ve actually used YSL Touche Eclat
? Earlier this month, we saw the launch of the YSL Touche Eclat limited slogan edition
. The formula remains the same but with an added touch of tongue-in-cheek humour to the pack design, which is something I appreciate from high end brands that are often seen serious and too cool for school. It’s like they’ve let their hair down.
YSL Touche Eclat Slogan Edition
You can get the following slogans:
- No Need To Sleep.
- I Am Not A Morning Person.
- All Lights On Me.
Now, it says on the YSL Beauty website that the slogan edition only comes in shade 01 (their ‘universal’ shade) but I’ve actually got it in shade 02. As far as I know and from reading a couple of other sources that it does comes in shades 01 and 02.
The first time I ever heard of Touche Eclat was when I was reading a Spice Girl interview in one of my 90’s girly mags and Geri Halliwell was quotes saying that she absolutely swears by Touche Eclat. Got to love celebrity endorsements. And it worked, of course! As a TOTAL Spice Girl fan, I wanted to buy everything they were wearing, using, eating (you get the idea), but of course, my skin was youthful, bright and fresh, I would have had no use a product like Touche Eclat back then. Well done Sarah from the 90’s, that was very sensible of you to hold back! (It was more than likely that it was because I couldn’t afford to buy it!)
You see, as an adult, I never really took to this as I always thought that this was a concealer but whenever I’ve been to check it out at the beauty counter, it just didn’t seem to be like your typical concealer. It didn’t cover up blemishes but I thought maybe that was just me and my awkward skin.
Now in my 30’s, I’m very lucky to say that dark circles is not a huge concern for me (yet). I don’t get dark circles or bags under my eyes and I’ll put that down to good genes rather than a sign of me taking after myself. It’s hardly the latter as I sleep late, don’t drink enough water, don’t get enough vitamin intake.
Only recently have I realised that you can use Touche Eclat to highlight or use on the right areas of your face to get a radiant looking, soft-focus glow. To me, it makes more sense for it to be used that way and I’ve been happy making use of my wand of Touche Eclat as such.
If there’s any part of your face that you feel appears dull and would like to brighten in an instant, whether that’s under your eyes, brow bone or the apples of your cheeks, Touche Eclat at your rescue! It melts on to skin and it doesn’t flake or cake. I’m very late to the party but I FINALLY get the hype of this cult beauty classic!
