Two Game Changers from REN Skincare
REN have recently launched two exciting skincare products that will help you look great for Spring. I have yet to have a bad experience with their products so it’s a brand that I have grown to trust and consider them as experts in their field.
I am always excited to hear what they’ve got in store for us skincare junkies and this Spring sees the launch of two brand new additions. One is brilliant eye treatment to smooth lines and zap away dark circles, and the other is an anti-pollution face mist to shield you from pollution and preventing you from that ‘urban grey’ complexion.

Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist
This is something I’ve never heard of before. REN is launching the Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist* (£24) in April, and if you’re someone who works in the City, then I recommend adding this to your skincare routine.
When I lived and worked in the city for a short amount of time, I could see the effects it had on my skin. Walking quite a distance to the train station, getting the tube, the bus, being around traffic, pollution, smoke and all the less-than-desirable factors of commuting sent my system in shock. My skin got a right battering!
I am originally from the rural countryside, y’see. And my skin was so not enjoying the sudden change in lifestyle and the stress of pollution was really visible! My face broke out, felt oily and grimy one minute and dry, and chalky the next! I honestly wish I had this Anti-Pollution Mist earlier but better late than never!
This lightly scented mist is a refreshing and dries within seconds. It can be used as part of your morning routine after moisturising, and any other time throughout the day over your make-up. Is it a product we really need, though? I mean, it’s not something that I particularly need at the moment in time since I’m not in London anymore (or work were there’s a lot of pollution and dirt), but I reckon I could’ve easily finished this bottle within a 3-4 months if I was still there. Easily.
REN has a way of introducing new products in to your routine that you never knew you needed, and whilst I appreciate that it isn’t necessarily a total must-have product for everyone, but depending where you work and where you spend your days, the mist will help your skin feel extra protected from free radicals. The mist acts a barrier to shield your skin from harmful UV and environmental pollutants such as cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes and heavy metals. It should work well on nights out too!
I was worried that it would leave a greasy film over my skin but it felt totally invisible. It contains the following bio-extracts to help this mist work it’s magic:
- Biosaccharide Gum: Forms a non-stick second skin to protect and shield the skin.
- Zinc and Manganese Amino Acids: Protects the skin for oxidative stress to leave skin feeling radiant for longer.
- Quercetin: Stimulates cell repair.
- Alfa-Glucan: Detoxifies and promotes cell longevity.
Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift
This eye gel-serum has been causing a buzz amongst in the beauty world. If you’re after an effective treatment to diminish the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, then let me introduce to you REN’s Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift* (£30).
The gel has a white, pearlescent appearance and contains light reflective pigments to bright the eye area. Instead of sounding like I know what I’m saying in regards to the science and technology side (of which you can read in full on REN’s page); the gist of it is that a unique technology called Tuberose Active Shells to reduce dark circles by increasing micro-circulation and eliminating toxins. It contains Hyaluronans to give an instant lift, blur lines, tighten, and firm, and also Phycocolloids to provide long lasting hydration.
It feels great on my skin and doesn’t irritate the delicate eye area. I personally didn’t feel the ‘tightening’ sensation that others have described whilst using this. This is my saviour after a late night, it gives me that extra bit of confidence to know that I don’t look as tired as I feel!
It primes your eye contour perfectly for your make-up too as it’s non-sticky and smooths skin. Be careful not too use too much. I once used too much and didn’t rub in to skin until completely absorbed and it left a powdery white residue! That’s not a good look is it, ha! But a TINY bit of this eye serum goes a very long way!
I let my Mum borrow this when she went on holiday because I knew she had ran out of eye cream and couldn’t buy her usual one until she got back from her trip. She absolutely LOVES it and is going to buy a bottle for herself!

I adore your reviews – they're always so detailed and full, I always feel as if I can make a proper judgement for myself based on what you write. I love the idea of both these products, but as I live in the middle of the countryside, in the middle of nowhere, I think I'll save myself the pennys and just pick up the eye serum – it's never too early to look after that sensitive skin around your eyes!

Oooh that Eye Lift product sounds amazing and like something I'd love.. I've always struggled with dark circles due to constant lack of sleep so I'll definitely have to try this out! I've heard a lot of great reviews about REN products in general although I've never tried any! Definitely need to start collecting! xx

I love REN too, the Flash Rinse Facial is one of my favourite exfoliants. I love the sound of the mist, it sounds like it would make a nice setting spray over makeup.
