Fig has been quite a prominent scent in beauty product recently. A fruity, rich fragrance we once only associated with Autumn, some brands have developed a fresher version for Spring/Summer.

Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier Eau De Parfum

Notably, Roger & Gallet (as well as The Body Shop) have been the front runners with pushing fig as an all-year-round fragrance (A fig is for life, not just for Autumn!). The very first time I came across Roger & Gallet was when I received a couple of sachet samples from Glossybox.
Ignorantly, I peeled the sachet, used the shower gel and chucked the packet in the bin without reading what it was. Sometimes I wrongly dismiss sachets like that if they’re an easy-to-use product that doesn’t require reading the how-to-use.
So, anyway, I opened the packet and used what was in there – and this AMAZING smell swept over me. It was sweet, floral, fruity, rich… I just wanted more. I couldn’t pinpoint what it was. WHAT IS THIS SMELL, IT’S DELICIOUS AND I WANT MORE! I later realise it was fig. Delish!

When the PR team at Roger & Gallet asked if I’d like to try the perfume, Fleur de Figuier*, and I was like ‘UM, TOTALLY! YES PLEASE”. Excuse me while pour the whole bottle all over my body. Just joking.
Fleur de Figuier Eau de Parfum launched last Summer and I remember reading about it on beauty blogs. More importantly, the aroma of Fleur de Figuier is just how I remembered it to be. It has a sweet, jam-like candied fig scent which is addictive and I can’t stop sniffing it! But it doesn’t stop at ‘sweet’, there are several layers to the perfume.
There top notes are mandarin, pink peppercorn, and as mentioned, candied fig accord. The heart notes are violet wood and fig pulp, with base notes of musk, patchouli and moss to balance out the sweetness.

It remind me of the Jo Malone Wild Fig & Cassis and this one from Roger & Gallet makes an incredibly nice (and cheaper) alternative. The fragrance is unusual and makes a stunning, fruity perfume for the evening.

Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier range is available from Marks & Spencer. The Eau de Parfum retails for £40.50 (I’ve spotted it on sale on Escentual for £30.40 if anyone fancies treating themselves soon!)
