Melvita are launching a new collection this month which combines 3 wild roses in a blossoming sensorial range. Nectar De Roses by Melvita features an eau de toilette, shower gel, body lotion, and a balm.
In the past year, I have been loving rose scented beauty products. I just love how it’s making a come back! It has come a long way since the days of it’s reputation of being a dowdy, granny scent. It’s more authentic and sophisticated – well, in my opinion anyway! I’d happily smell like roses forever and ever!

As well as the all important scent, rose extract has super moisturising properties. I’ve been using rose water as part of my skincare routine and I am surprised each and every single time at how smooth it makes my skin.
The rose extract in Melvita’s Nectar De Roses feed, traps and distributes moisture. It quenches, prevents water loss, and stimulates the vital channels that allows or the difussion of moisture. Oooh, technical stuff!

Melvita Nectar De Roses – Rose Petal Shower Gel, £13
To me, this shower gel doesn’t have that typical rosey-floral scent to it at all. If someone asked me to identify the smell of this, I wouldn’t have said rose. It smells very earthy and I’m not 100% sure that I like that in a shower gel, but once it’s on the skin and activated with water, the scent is much lighter and that’s when that you can detect the hint of rose. It’s a nice, moisturising formula that’s parabens and soap-free. A little of it goes a long way! Melvita is certified ECOCERT which means at least 95% of the total ingredients are from natural origin and 95% of the total plant-based ingredients are organic.
Melvita Nectar De Roses Hydrating Body Veil, £15
Nectar De Roses Hydrating Body Veil is a light and milky body lotion enriched with Rose Floral Water, and claims to keep skin hydrated for up to 24 hours. It actually says on the packaging that it ‘provides intense hydration for 24 hours’. Intense hydration. For 24 hours. That’s quite a claim. I love this type of lotion though; its light, thin, absorbs quick AND keeps skin hydrated for hours and hours. This Body Veil ticks all of the boxes for me.

Melvita Roses Sauvages Eau de Toilette, £36
I was most excited to have a brand new perfume to add to my small collection! Most of the newest perfumes I’ve bought or received have been rose-based fragrances. It’s what I would call a low-key perfume, you can kind of throw it in your bag and take it everywhere with you – it’s suitable for all occasions but it is especially lovely for the day time as it’s not too heavy or sickly.
The perfume is a combination of 3 wild roses picked at dawn – they’ve gone to some effort to develop this eau de toilette! Melvita captures the freshness of the rose petals, the light powdery scent of their hearts and a subtle woody base note of the leaves.
It makes a nice change from the usual perfumes you see on the high street, and at £36, it’s not a bad price for an eau de toilette. I love the simplistic, purply-pink gradient, ombre-style bottle design.

Melvita Nectar de 3 Roses Lip Balm, £10
I’m still using the the honey lip balm that I opened last month (shop link), and I really like it, so I trust that this rose version works in the exact same way. It’s great because it’s not only a lip balm but you can use it on any areas where there’s dry skin, cuticles and on the ends of hair. I might try it on my hair since I now have two pots of this lovely balm!
The three types of roses in this balm are Canina rose to stimulate the circulation of moisture, Gallica rose for its regenerating properties, and Mosqueta rose to hold in moisture.
Nectar de Roses is launching this month.
The Melvita range is available from selected John Lewis department stores, Feel Unique or directly from the Melvita website.
