It’s not often but whenever there’s a own-brand make-up item in a beauty subscription box, my initial reaction is a dismissing ‘meh’ but actually, I’ve always ended up eating my words because not only I’m impressed by the cosmetic item, it often becomes a staple product in my everyday make-up routine!

Birchbox UK Releases Their Own Range Of Make-Up
When I heard that Birchbox was launching their own range of make-up, I was excited to hear more. Birchbox has pushed their efforts hard to become the leaders of beauty subscription boxes.
Whether you love them or hate them, the ideas that Birchbox has come up with in the past 12 months have kept things exciting for subscribers and it seems that they can do no wrong at the moment.

Their debut collection from their own make-up brand, LOC (Love Of Colour) consists of 2 One & Done Eye Shadow Sticks and 3 matte lipsticks. It is a small, capsule range but Birchbox will be creating two trend-based LOC collections per year, introducing additional products and new shades each season.
The idea of the debut collection is to create an ease of using every day products. Without the hassle of make-up brushes, the One & Done Shadow Sticks can be applied straight to eyelids.
And because of the shimmery, lustre, champagne shades that they are, it can be double up as a highlighter for cheeks and under the brow bone too.

The silky, creamy textures allows the crayon to slide on without dragging over the delicate eye area and the formula is crease-free, long-lasting (even without a primer) and waterproof. One & Done Shadow Stick comes in two shades; Champagne Problems which is a silvery taupe, and Perfect Cents, a warm copper.

On to the lipsticks which are available in three shades: Uncorked (berry plum), Skinny Dip (beige nude) and Trouble (red). Retailing at £6.50 each, they’re pigmented and vibrant with a silky matte finish.

I am not fond of matte lipsticks so I hope they’re developing a range of other lipstick formulas. Not to say that these aren’t good quality lipsticks, because they are. I’ve tried Uncorked (berry plum shade) with a tiny bit of gloss over it and I really love how it looks.
The bullet of the lipstick is slim and small, but good things come in small packages, as they say! It allows for precision when applying so that there’s no need for a lip liner.

Both the eyeshadow sticks and lipsticks are compact, pocket-sized and barely-there weight make them light enough to carry around with you for quick touch ups at your convenience.
One & Done Shadow Sticks retail at £8.00 each and the Vibrant Matte Lipsticks retail at £6.50 each. You can get the whole set for £25.00. LOC make-up is cruelty-free, does not contain parabens, and is available to buy from Birchbox’s website.

I wondered if they would come out with their own line, I know other boxes like Glossybox has been adding bits of it's own line into the boxes for a while. The odd gloss or shadow here. Must admit, I much prefer the look of LOC, even though we know it's associated with BirchBox, you wouldn't think so and it looks like something that could stand happily on it's own two feet. The shadow sticks intrigue me the most, I love these types of products, great for storage and travel!
