YAY! The first beauty post on my blog and it’s dedicated to the ever-awesome Birchbox*. For January 2016, Birchbox has teamed up with Pinterest. Uh, only one of my favourite social media platforms ever! I know I keep saying this with every brand that Birchbox partners up with but seriously, them teaming up with Pinterest is the most perfect, especially if you’re a beauty blogger!

BIRCHBOX TEAMS UP WITH PINTEREST FOR JANUARY 2016 EDITION
The idea of teaming up with Pinterest is for Birchbox to help inspire us to make 2016 the best year ever. Whatever inspiration I’m seeking, my first point of call is Pinterest. Always Pinterest. And whilst I’m remaining a realist and not putting pressure on myself to make 2016 the ‘best year ever’, having a beautiful box of beauty products to try, along with positive and inspirational illustrations certainly makes it the best start to the year!

My January Birchbox arrived today and I’ve been playing around with this month’s content. As usual, there 5 beauty samples from luxury and niche brands (You should totally sign up to Birchbox if you love browsing at Space NK decided what to buy). In this month’s box, there’s also a a bonus item which is a mirror, and a bunch of illustrated postcards.

Eyeko Fat Liquid Eyeliner, £12 (full size)
I love these types of eyeliners and in fact, this is my second Eyeko Fat Liquid Eyeliner because I got the first one from October’s Birchbox. It’s basically like a felt tip pen that you apply to the upper lash line and if you like a defined cat eye flick, I highly recommend this liquid eyeliner.
Parlour Shampoo and Conditioner, £16 each
The shampoo is in a cute little 30ml travel size and the conditioner comes in a one-use sachet. Parlour is a brand that I was introduced to by beauty sample boxes but since then, I’ve been seeing their products pop up in various places. Funny how that happens! Both the shampoo and conditioner promises to strengthen, repair, and leave hair light and weightless.
Absolution Cleansing Water, £27
Make 2016 the year of clean and healthy skin. Find products that work for you and make a huge effort to a strict skincare routine and I promise you that your face will look healthy and glow with radiance throughout the year. If you’re a busy person and have very little time every single morning and evening to cleanse, tone, and moisturise – then I recommend a cleansing water like Absolution L’eau Soir et Matin which are great for a quick and convenient solution. There’s no excuses as you can even use this while you lay in bed! 😀 I can’t wait to try the

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Eyelash Primer, £18.50
This is a brand new product from Benefit which I believe was launched a few weeks ago. What exactly is a eyelash primer, I hear you ask? It preps your eyelashes by separating, lengthening, and boost each individual lash, so when you come to apply mascara, it should be clump-free, volumising and long. As this is also tinted, it can be used on it’s own for a minimal and natural look.
Caudalie Fleur De Vigne Shower Gel, £9
Yay! Finally, a Caudalie sample that isn’t skincare! I mean, I love skincare as much as the next beauty blogger but I have built up quite a stash of Caudalie skincare samples now. This shower gel is formulated for even the most sensitive skin, with aloe vera, white rose, rose pepper and grape blossom as some of the ingredients.
Birchbox Compact Mirror
There is often a bonus item in Birchbox and this month, it’s a small pocket mirror – great to touch ups and quick make-up fixes.

Illustrated Postcards
If you’re familiar with Pinterest then you will know that it’s full of quotes on there. I think it can be useful for when you need to motivate or give yourself a pep talk. There are five postcards in this month’s box, each artwork is illustrated by Viktorija Semjonova who has taken inspiration from Pinterest to help inspire us to get through 2016 with a happy, positive attitude! The ‘2016 You’ve Got It Nailed’ is my fave!

Birchbox is usually one of my favourites out of all the beauty boxes available but this one isn't really a hit for me this month as the only product that really appeals to me is the They're Real tinted primer x
