MY FAVOURITE NAIL POLISHES FOR AUTUMN
I have never been one of those people who wear a shade of nail polish to match the season – if I want to wear bright neon yellow in the middle of Winter, then I will do so! But I think I’m over the bright nail phase.
It has been a while since I wore dark nail polish but I am feeling Autumn-y with nail colour at the moment! I’ve got a few go-to shades at the moment (ok, it’s mainly purple!) but these are for four that I’m loving right now:
This doesn’t look as light on their website but Purple Paradise is a creamy deep lilac. I can’t remember the last time I had a shade like this – but purple is my favourite colour so it’s perfect for me, regardless of the season. It might just be my go-to shade all year round.
I had a similar shade to this from Ruby & Millie (remember them?!) and it lasted ages and ages. I think this rich oxblood shade is flattering on everyone. In the bottle, it looks almost black but when the light hits it, it shows up as a dark, glossy, plum purple and all you need is 2 or 3 coats on your nails. All HJ Manicure formulas are 5-free which means it’s non-toxic and is free from the potentially harmful ingredients and chemicals that are in a lot of polishes. They are also a cruelty free brand and the polishes are suitable for vegans too. I would like the brush to be a bit thicker, I find it difficult to apply in even strokes when it’s too thin. But the polish itself dries quickly and it stays on your nails for up to 5 days without chipping.
I love Barry M nail polishes. Did I ever tell you that I once saw Barry himself at the NEC (I probably have). He was sat back in a chair, munching on a sausage roll, with pasty crumbs going all over his fleecy jacket. Don’t you just love that vision?! Keepin’ it realz, Barry! This is the 3rd or 4th time I have bought this shade. I bought it off ASOS and I was looking for a something berry-ish. Again, the shade looked a lot darker on my computer screen and I didn’t realise until the parcel arrives that it’s actually the same bottle as I’ve already got. Good job I love it, then!
Reds are my fave and I have loads. I don’t even know why I have so many red polishes. I love the packaging and branding of Lottie London – it looks more premium and more expensive than it is (only £5.99!) so yeah, I think I’m more drawn to that the branding than the colour itself. But the shade is lovely! It’s a bright, vibrant, classic red. A girl can never have too many red nail polishes! This didn’t chip for up to an impressive 7 days. It would’ve lasted longer but I was too eager to remove it and try the HJ Manicure polishes! Lottie London nail polishes are great quality at a great price point!
