The Duck And Waffle is a place I’ve been wanting to go to for ages but with a two month waiting list, I haven’t quite got round to booking that table. When Birchbox invited me to their 5th party celebration dinner, I couldn’t pass on this amazing opportunity. Since I’ve been raving about Birchbox almost every month this year, I was pretty excited to meet some of the team that makes the beauty magic happen.

I waddled my way to the Duck And Waffle after work, I stayed a bit later and went straight from the office, and I was tired but it was TOTALLY worth it. Having this event to look forward to made my week so much better!
CELEBRATING BIRCHBOX’S BIRTHDAY AT THE DUCK & WAFFLE

Duck & Waffle is the highest restaurant in the UK, located on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, the views of London is unreal. I mean, bad news if you’re scared of heights but if you get a chance to go, I highly recommend it – it’s so worth going just to experience the view! I could’ve easily sat there and looked out the window for the entire night, watching the world go by.

Myself and about 15 other bloggers joined Birchbox for a celebratory dinner. Our menu consisted of 12 tasting starters including violet artichoke bread, bbq crispy pig ears, wild cornish pollock meatballs, foie gras creme brûlée, heritage tomatoes and strawberry salad, spicy ox cheek doughnut and corn on the cob covered in toasted coconut. The main was, of course, a Duck and Waffle (with fried duck egg and mustard maple syrup) but it got to about 10pm and I had to leave so sadly, I never got round to the main course and dessert.

The presentation was a total dream and everything looked delicious, even if it sounded a little strange on the menu. It’s not everyday when you find yourself nibbling on crispy pig ears, but it really wasn’t as bad as it sounds. In fact, I think they were my favourite starter out of the lot. Crispy pig ears are a delicious snack… who knew!
And can we just take a moment to appreciate the bread. OMG. There was a violet artichoke and parmesan bread and also a rosemary and garlic one. It was the tastiest bread ever, I think we all wanted one each!

I’m glad I can tick this one off my ‘places to go’ list. I’d love to go again before I leave London at the end of the year, would be a nice place to spend the evening to round up my time here!
Big thanks to Birchbox for having me! If you’re wondering what’s inside the birthday edition of Birchbox, looking for the unboxing blogpost tomorrow!
