Birchbox knows how to keep their customers intrigued and excited! I think that they really know their customers and the whole beauty box subscription marketing, they know what to avoid and they know how to please and that’s why with each month, Birchbox gets better and better.
August’s Birchbox* was absolutely spot on. Opening the parcel to be greeted with a brilliantly designed box covered in colourful little beauty emojis, excitement took over! I got the following five beauty samples plus a sheet of ADORABLE emoji stickers!

Illamasqua Hydra Veil
This is a small sample tube of one of Illamasqua’s cult beauty product, Hydra Veil – part hydrator, part primer. Are you intrigued? I know I certainly am! I love the texture of gel products and if it makes your skin feel amazing, AND make your make-up stay put, then we’re already on to a winner. This is a tiny tube but I have a feeling that it’s just the right amount to persuade me to buy the full size. After all, that is the point of these monthly subscription beauty boxes, right? (such enablers!)

Huygens Le Gommage Visage
Another reason why I LOVE Birchbox is that they introduce and recommend niche, high end brands to us. Huygens is a french brand that produces “custom-made natural cosmetics”. Sounds great! The Le Gommage Visage is a face exfoliator which I will dipped in to soon because my face needs some TLC!

Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo
Another wonderful brand that I’ve only heard of thanks to Birchbox. Kebelo was established in 2010 and are experts in all things hair. Their innovative products are free from SLS, parabens, and sulphate (YAASSS), and leaves unruly, damaged hair smooth and silky. Well, I’ll let you know if I get good results from this shampoo!

Rituals Ayurveda Scrub
I looove Rituals, their products smell GREAT and makes your skin feel lovely and soft! My mum and I went on a bit of a spending spree a few months ago in their boutique in York, we’re both huge fans (their shower foam is our fave!) The sweet Indian Rose is one of my favourite scent of theirs so I’m really pleased to have received this body scrub. It’s another one to add to my Rituals collection!

theBalm Balm Desert (blush/bronzer)
I do love theBalm but I don’t really like these little sample products because they’re hard to use. When it comes to blushers, bronzers or any kind of pigmented powder, I like a big surface to swirl my brush in so that I get an even distribution of colour when I apply it to my skin. The square in this sample is approximately 1cm x 1cm so it’s not really enough to swipe your brush around in circular motion – but as always, I will give it a go! theBalm packaging are always so cute!

Lord & Berry Blush (shade: Lotus)
Another twitchy blusher but again, I’m sure I’ll make use of it somehow! It will be good to carry tiny make-up products in my handbag for work or something. Lord & Berry are a great brand, I like seeing their products in beauty boxes!
Birchbox is £10 per month (plus £2.95 postage and packaging). You can sign up here!

This looks and sounds like a fantastic beauty box, I'm such a huge fan of the Illamasqua Hydraveil and the Clarifying Shampoo, but I haven't tried anything else… the blush and eyeshadow look gorgeous!

Seems like a great month for Birchbox – I want the stickers the most though, haha!

I did like box, but I do wish the blush/bronzer samples could be a tad big so I could get my brush in easier!

Mascara & Maltesers
I have the full size of the Hydraveil and I'd say it's definitely worth it! It leaves the most gorgeous base for applying foundation too!
