bareminerals make up
I’m a n00b when it comes to mineral make-up but it is something I’d like to incorporate in to my make-up routine more. bareMinerals is one of the most well known brands in the world of mineral make-up and I have been trying out some of their best sellers, their hero products.
bareminerals complexion rescue
This is a complexion product described as a mix between BB/CC cream and a tinted moisturiser. It’s a cooling gel cream formula that provides a sheer to medium coverage.
Around this time of year, a lot of us tend to switch from full coverage to something light and fresh, and the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is pretty perfect base to switch over to because the gel cream is so incredibly lightweight, making it very comfortable to wear.
There are 10 different shades available and I chose it in the Natural 05 which is for medium skin with neutral tones. It’s starts off as a sheer tint but the subtle colour does build up with each layer you apply offering a light to medium coverage.

I prefer to apply the Complexion Rescue with fingertips as opposed to a make-up brush. I tried it with a make-up brush and it was difficult to blend, it ended up being quite streaky. Using the warmth of your hands, the gel cream will blend in to your skin for a nice flawless finish.
The unique selling point of this complexion product is that is evens out skin tone (as it “says on the tin”) but it’s also has a powerful hydrating formula with an added bonus of SPF 30. It’s good for those with dehydrated or dry skin to add a boost of moisture but also because it doesn’t cling on to patches and it gives a beautiful radiant, healthy looking glow!
bareminerals prime time primer
£22.00
Prime Time Original Foundation Primer is a clear silky, velvety texture which fills in fine lines, gets rid of shine and minimizes the appearance of your pores. I used to love this type of primer because it makes your skin feel lovely and smooth, helping to create the perfect and even canvas, so to speak.
However, nowadays, I prefer the creamy, tacky primers only because I feel like make-up sticks to my skin better. But I’m partial to change, especially when it gets warmer and I opt for lightweight products that feel more comfortable to wear. And this type of primer does make your skin look flawless!
Prime Time is available in 5 different options so there should be one that suits your skintype. I think I’ll check out the new Prime Time BB Primer Cream Daily Defence with SPF 30 next time I’m at the bareMinerals beauty counter!
bareminerals mineral veil
bareMinerals Mineral Veil*
£21.00
To set your make-up, I highly recommend the bareMinerals Mineral Veil which I’m currently totally obsessed with! I love this powder as it’s finely milled and goes on to skin like a dream. It absorbs oil, disguises pores, is sheer and soft, and doesn’t leave my skin looking powdery or fuzzy. It gives your skin an airbrushed, soft-focus finish, whilst locking in your make-up in the process.
I have it in Hydrating which is a pink-beige powder that comes out translucent. There’s no pigment in this one but it gives a pearly glow (nothing shimmery, don’t worry!), it’s such a great finish powder (or “veil” if you will) that leaves your complexion bright and healthy looking due to it’s cooling vitamins and minerals.
bareminerals well rest eye and face brightner

£19.00
Well-Rested is a illuminator pen with a brush applicator, which sways more towards a highlighter than a concealer. Containing light reflecting minerals, Well-Rested gives your skin an instant boost of brightness and hides dark pigments so it’s particularly great to use under the eyes.
I like to use it under my brow bone, and also over the apples of my cheeks before applying blusher too. It’s got an iridescent finish but it’s not as luminous as a typical highlighter (eg. It’s more blendable than Benefit’s High Beam), so it’s great if you you have oily skin as it doesn’t exaggerate it.

  1. I have wanted to try mineral makeup like this brand for ages but I have such pale skin, even the lightest shades are too dark. Do you know what their palest shade is like?
