After recently re-discovering that I actually do love rose scented beauty products, I was interested in checking out Ted Baker W, a new fragrance for S/S 15 which has the following notes: freesia roses, rose petals, orchid, ylang ylang, peony, bergamot (that bergamot sure gets around!!), tangerine, peach, rum, vanilla, musk and vetiver.
Rose scented products have been given a bad rep in the past (powdery, sickly, old fashioned) but beauty brands are reinventing it and now I can’t get enough! Ted Baker W eau de toilette is deliciously sweet and floral with the fruity elements to give it a modern twist.
I can pick up on the peach upon the first spray which then turns into roses, and then dries down to a soft vanilla. It’s a great perfume to carry around with you in your handbag because it’s inexpensive and the scent is pretty delicate and non-offensive. I think this fragrance and the gift set itself caters well for the younger ladies and I can imagine having this in my school bag as a teen.
As well as the eau de toilette, you also get a body wash and a body lotion in the gift set, both in a generous 100ml size. The body wash and body lotion is retailed £8.00 each, and the 30ml perfume is £8.50 so this gift set is a bit of a bargain because you get all three for £14.99.
The scent of the wash and lotion are not as dynamic or strong as the perfume. They smell of roses and peach, and it’s really lovely – but as expected with body products, there aren’t as many fragrance layers as the eau de toilette.
The packaging is my favourite thing about this set, it’s a really pretty design! The box is in two shades of pink with pencil drawings of roses and dragonflies, finished with rose gold branding. So lovely!
This set is available to buy from The Perfume Shop. There’s also a Men’s version which includes an eau de toilette, body wash and an after shave balm – infused with tonka bean, musk, vetiver, coriander and amber. Both retail at £14.99 per gift set.
