make up from topshop, 5 years of topshop beauty
Topshop Beauty turns 5 this year and to celebrate, they’ve launched their 5th Anniversary collection. I actually can’t believe that it has been five years since Topshop Beauty launched! I remember the hype around it and how excited beauty fans were. The first thing I bought was a trio of lip polish in the sale in 2011. It was (and still is) such a hit with beauty bloggers and after trying some products out myself, I can see why everyone is impressed with the level of pigments and the quality to rival the high end brands.
Five years on, the Topshop Beauty is going strong and just like their trend-led fashion, they are quite ahead of the game. Sometimes I think that when fashion retailers branch out into beauty, it can be cheap and gimmicky, with what seems to be an experimental, short-term vision, but Topshop have been really consistent with theirs and 5 years standing is pretty impressive for a fashion retailer. The key to their success is most likely down to the quality of their make-up, and that’s why customers return for more. It makes such a nice little beauty treat because the prices are fairly decent too.
Their 5th anniversary limited edition range is a small collection of their best selling products and shades, repackaged in a cute white and rose gold cases. Although I’ve always been a bit put off by the matt finish of their packaging, it gets really grubby in my make-up bag! Anyway, here’s what you can expect from their birthday collection!

Doesn’t it all look sooo pretty!! It’s a small selection but I think there’s something for everyone! If you’re a newbie to Topshop Beauty, this might be a nice collection to dip in to as it consists of some of their best sellers. Topshop lipsticks are known for it’s high pigmentation and rich creamy texture. Some beauty bloggers have even said that they are as good as MAC lippies.
Ooh La La, a coral pink, is my favourite followed by Rio Rio which is a vibrant red. But out of all of the beauty products, what I have always loved was their nail polishes. I really like all five but Boy Next Door (pale blue) and Green Room (bright green) have caught my eye!
Within the anniversary collection, there’s also a black eye liner pen, a cream blush and a glow pot highlighter. I am a blush girl so would have liked to have seen 5 blushers or at least one powder blush.
