Yves Rocher Summer Beauty Products
The Summer beauty products have arrived at Yves Rocher and I’ve been testing some of them out! I think that they look great and really appealing, especially the Monoï de Tahiti collection which has SUMMER written all over them! (Not literally… but.. you know what I mean!)
Monoï Lagoon Hair and Body Wash*
First up, we have the Manoï Lagoon Hair and Body Wash in a bright turquoise blue which I guess it’s supposed to remind us of the water of the exotic seas far, far away!
Inspired by the Polynesia Lagoons, it was created with the holidaymaker in mind. Not only does this has a lovely Sunny fragrance (very similar to that coconut fragrance they spray in Hollister stores), it is formulated with Monoï de Tahiti oil and organic aloe vera to gently wash every trace of sand, sea salt and sun cream away.
It also has a 2-in-1 formula that washes both body and hair so it’s ideal to take on holiday with you to save the all important luggage kg allowance for bringing your holiday souvenirs back!…
It usually retails for £3.20 but you can currently buy it for £1.95 if you want to stock up for your holidays!
Monoï Precious Dry Oil*
Dry oils are all the rage these days and this ones reminds me of the Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess Oil Spray. Yves Rocher Monoï Precious Dry Oil contains shimmery pigments that illuminates your skin so when you’re out in the sun, you’ll sparkle! It looks really glittery in the bottle but it isn’t as shimmery as it looks so don’t worry, you won’t end up looking like you just got glitter bombed! Most of it kind of sticks onto the palm of your hand than the area of skin you’re applying the oil to.
As it is a dry oil, it moisturises your skin with a barely-there, non-greasy feeling, and it absorbs instantly. It has the similar exotic fragrance to the Monoï Lagoon Wash except the scent is a lot stronger. I find it a bit overpowering to begin with but when you apply a thin layer to skin, the scent fades in to a subtle smell of coconuts! You can also use dry oil on hair too but be careful not to use too much because it’s not a proper hair oil, it will make your hair look so greasy otherwise!
This oil would be great to use when you’ve got a nice tan as it will help you prolong it and also enhance it with a gorgeous Summer glow!
Now on to some hair products! A hair product has to be absolutely amazing for me to make the effort to recommend it because I usually find hair reviews very boring to write up which would explain the lack of reviews on my blog.
But I’ve been trying a few things lately as I recently noticed how bad the condition of my hair is – it’s so coarse, wire-y and brittle! I haven’t been taking care of my hair as much as I should and now I’m desperate for products that are guaranteed to work in repairing it… or at least prevent it from getting worse!
It’s safe to say that both of these Yves Rocher hair care products that I’ve been trying out are completely different to anything I’ve ever used and here’s why:
Low Shampoo Delicate Cleansing Cream*
This shampoo is a cleansing cream that doesn’t contain sulfate or silicone. When I was using it for the first time, it felt really strange because it doesn’t foam up at all and I thought it was difficult to get it to distribute it evenly.
It is literally a cream texture so as it doesn’t lather up, I worried that it might not be as cleansing as my usual shampoo but it actually gave me 3-4 days of clean hair! I usually have to wash my hair every other day but when I used this non-foaming shampoo, my hair wasn’t greasy until the fourth day.
The gentle formula is enriched with cleansing ingredients, it’s free from sulfates, silicone, parabens, or colouring, and it’s suitable for all hair types. I didn’t think this would work but I’m really impressed with it and I hope the ‘low shampoo’ trend catches on.
Rinsing Vinegar For Hair
£11.30 (currently half price at £5.65)
This is an interesting product and I bet you’re all intrigued by it. Using the acidity from vinegar is an old method of keeping your hair clean and shiny. Nowadays, it is all a bit of a strange concept to get your head around but I’ve been testing out this Raspberry Rinsing Vinegar and I think I’m addicted to it!
When I first heard about it, I thought it was going to smell like something that resembles salad dressing or a vinegar that you put on your chips but it totally doesn’t at all! It smells sweet, tart and juicy – exactly like raspberries. Don’t let the word ‘vinegar’ put you off this, the scent really is lovely!
Applying the raspberry vinegar by sprinkling it on to the roots and tips before the last rinse helps my hair to feel softer and shinier. The vinegar removes mineral and product build-up too, so maybe that’s why I feel that my hair is cleaner for longer.
It’s suitable for all hair types, but perhaps in particular to those who is lacking shine or uses a lot of styling products. Also, try the vinegar if you find that you’re washing your hair too much and it’s stripping it from the hair’s natural oils. For me, the results were more visible after using it the 3rd time, my hair felt softer and had less weight.
The only thing I would say about it is that I wish it had a spray nozzle for ease of application and even distribution because I’m probably using more than I should at the moment!
All of these products are available from Yves Rocher
website, and there’s a sale on at the moment so have a look and see what bargains you can grab!
