If there’s one product that I am totally grateful for, it’s certainly hair straighteners! Specifically GHD’s! In early 2000’s, I bought my first pair of GHD Hair Straighteners when I was a teenager still in Secondary School so appearance was a big deal for me. When I finally owned the best hair straighteners in the world, I was so excited because GHD gave me confidence in knowing that my hair would always be smooth, glossy, straight and manageable. No more annoying frizz, embarrassing kinks and pesky flyaways.
Fast-forward to thirteen years later, courtesy of Jen’s Journal, I have finally replaced those very hair straighteners. My new pair of GHD straighteners* in rose gold edition, they’re so fancy and you can all see why I love them! I’m a huge fan of rose gold, it has been a top trend for a few years and shows no sign of disappearing any time soon.
Upon first look, the straighteners look like the might feel quite heavy but they’re actually lightweight and easy to handle. I like that the set includes heatproof mat as this is something that wasn’t included in the original GHD’s, and now I don’t have to worry about burning the carpet! The mat rolls up neatly and attaches to the bag, which is rather nifty!
The heat of the ceramic plates reaches a consistent 185° which the brand believes is the optimum styling temperature. They go into sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. Whilst the sleep mode is a great safety feature, I do think that half an hour is still too long to wait until it automatically switches off – but I am nitpicking here. The most important part is that it does go off after a certain time of inactivity, and it should be fine as long as it’s placed on the heatproof mat – a peace of mind for us worriers!
GHD’s have become a brand that I trust and if anyone is considering investing in a pair of quality hair straighteners, I would definitely recommend them. They do exactly what you’d expect and they last for years!
