Brat & Suzie said they had something for me and when I opened the parcel, it was a cat t-shirt! How did they know I was a fan of cats 😉 And this one’s short-sighted (or long?! but lets not be pendantic here!) but look at it’s cute glasses! One of my favourite things to wear when I’m having a can’t-be-bothered-to-look-nice day is a t-shirt and black skirt! As I type, I’m still sat in this outfit and because my my pretty skirt is made of linen, it is getting all kinds of creased. I wish I went for the poly-blend one now! It is also available as shorts too! When I went out at lunch time, I grabbed my red Brit-Stitch half pint bag, and plonked my feet in to an pair of baby blue Keds. For jewellery, I wore a little silver bow ring from Thomas Sabo.
Thanks for the words of encouragement in my last blogpost, you ladies talk a lot of sense and I wish I had listened to you all along 🙂 You lot are a lovely bunch! THE ABSOLUTE BEST! I think I’ve just been so competitive with myself more than anything else; Always wanting the next blogpost to look as good as the last, my stats to be better than the day before and that kind of competitiveness can drive anyone up the wall. I’m already feeling a lot more positive about my blog, the little space on the Internet that I’ve worked so hard to build up. I will not compare myself to others from now on. Or at least TRY not to…
I’m quite excited actually, because now it means that we can actually just relax on our days off and go do something fun, instead of faffing about with outfit posts and taking various photos for the blog! In fact, the Monday just gone, we went to Manchester and I had my camera with me ready to capture photos for my next piece of content. I had a change of heart at the very last minute – it was mainly because I felt a bit travel sick and didn’t feel like going around the city taking photographs! – but nevertheless, I left the camera in the boot and went about my day. I ended up having a nice day, giving Niki my full and undivided attention and I was able to take my mind off blogging, social media and Internet! Sometimes I don’t know whether it’s a blessing or just a pain in the bum to have a smartphone but I’ll be switching it off more often.
Bloggers get such a bad rap sometimes, and in my experience the jibes usually coming from those on the outside of the circle. Yesterday, it was nice to write my thoughts down and get feedback from people who know where I am coming from and know what they are talking about. When your comments pop up on the dashboard, and I see the name next to it, it is like hearing from an old friend every single time. I know your faces, I’m even familiar with your writing voice, and it is that kind of friendly vibe that makes blogging what it is, not the pretty photos, or what PR samples someone has been given or how many followers we’ve got on Twitter. You are a pretty awesome bunch of people, and I am proud to be a part of this 🙂

  1. Hi Sarah, you should be so proud of your blog you have a unique style and look – it doesn't really matter what the back drop is because you put really cute looks together. I have to say switching off from technology and social media is such a good thing, I just wish my partner was the same with his games!

I agree it's the voice of other bloggers than make it worth while, especially it's genuine and heart felt 🙂

  2. That shirt! Honestly, I love indoor outfit photos, and yours are so well done — nothing messy in the background, good lighting, etc. It really focuses on the look, instead of whatever beautiful scenery is behind it.

  3. That's such a cool t-shirt! I know it's quite therapeutic not having your phone on all the time, or just leaving it somewhere else in another room not being bothered by any notifications haha. x

  4. I love the look! that T-shirt is so cuteee!

  6. You're definitely making me feel like I shouldn't try so hard – if that's the joy it can bring! Got to let go of my perfectionism first… so… hard… There is something really nice about the crisp, clean white background though, it definitely makes it all about the clothes. Which is the point, right?! x
