Contents of Love Me Beauty* – August 2014
Another month, another beauty box! I have been really out of the loop with these types of boxes lately. I used to love reading what everyone got in their Glossybox and Birchbox but I haven’t been that bothered this past couple of months. Out of all the subscription boxes I’ve tried, Love Me Beauty seems to the one who is most consistent, and it’s also not as “gimmicky” either. They also care a lot more about the customers in regards to social media and customer service.
Love Me Beauty keeps things interesting and as you can see from the four boxes I’ve received so far, there’s also 2 or 3 full sized products in there to make each month seem worth it. Upon first impressions, it doesn’t appear to look as “full” as last months (which is my favourite so far) but 3 out of the 4 samples are full sized products. Here’s a look at what’s inside August’s Love Me Beauty box:
Oriflame Swedish Spa Beauty Wonder Oil (full size) – £8.45
This one’s a multi tasker! It can be used for massages, or as a pre-shampoo treatment for hair, or you can even put a few drops in your bath. It’s a versatile products (and that’s what I like!) which contains the goodness of tonic ginger oil and nourishing coconut oil. It smells nice and doesn’t seem to be too heavy or greasy. This is going on my hair asap!
Mirabella Lip Luster Liner in “Shy” (full size) – £10.50
This shade is quite close to my natural lip colour so I can’t wait to wear it properly. It has a sheer finish, and has Aloe Vera in it to ensure lips are moisturised. I don’t use lip liners a lot and it isn’t an essential for me but it’s ones of those products that are handy to have if and when you need to use it. I’m going to try filling the entire lip with this and add a clear gloss over it.
A La Carte Smudge Proof Eyebrow Definer (full size) – £23
This shade is too light for me so it’s a shame I can’t use this one, especially as it seems like such a useful products – and pricy too! All is not lost – I think you can use this as eyeliner so that’s what I’ll be doing! I have never used anything like this before, I always use powders and pencils to fill in and define my eyebrows. It’s basically like an eyeliner pen but not as pigmented, it comes out watery and transparent. It’s an interesting one as I’m not sure how well I would handle it if it came in black because I have very light eyebrows so it could literally be like using a marker over my face. I can see this Eyebrow Definer suitable for those with thicker brows, because as long as it’s a good colour match, this pen would do a great job in filling them in.
Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in “Lucky Penny” (sample size) – £14.49 for full size
I think this is a sample sized, I’m not sure because it comes really well packaged in a miniature cardboard box and a branded lid. I would have preferred it in a darker shade as I got a similar eyeshadow shade in last month’s Love Me Beauty box but this one is a loose powder. 100% natural and strictly cruelty-free, these eyeshadows form a creamy texture. Highly pigmented and easily blendable, you can use this wet or dry depending on how subtle or dramatic you want your look.

This looks really great this month, I only un subbed because I moved house and this has made me really disappointed I don't get it anymore- I need to get onto it xx
For ten pounds it contains some great products. The lipstick is lovely. The challenge with all the beauty boxes is that they have to create a box for the majourity and how do you do this with eyeshadows and lipsticks. With quite pale skin they always end up being too
dark for me Lucy x
