August started off with a brand new dress (of course!) and a trip to Manchester. It had been ages since we went on a road trip and we hadn’t visited Manchester in years! We walked around in Arndale, and had a mooch about at The Northern Quarter and had cakes a-plenty! We ordered rainbow cake and the pistachio cake at Teacups&Cake (overused the word “cake” there!) which was a lovely place to chill out! We are going back to Manchester for work in the middle of September to a photoshoot which is really exciting. The planning stage always makes me nervous but I’m sure everything will be fine on the day…! I can’t wait to see more of the city!
Between getting very distracted from watching friend’s and family’s ALS Ic Bucket Challenge and looking after little pets, I also got back in to the swing of outfit/personal style blogging. I decided to swallow my pride and make things easier for myself by taking outfit photos indoors using the tripod and remote again (as you’ve probably have noticed already!) which means that every day out, family occasion and road trip, I can just relax. I can experience these occasions without stressing about blogging, and enjoy spending time the people around me instead of constantly having my blog at the back of my mind, scouting for backdrops, and being the annoying one who lags behind to get a few outfit snaps. I’m not going to be doing daily outfits any time soon (I never have done) but I’m pleased to get a routine going, one where I don’t have to rely on anyone else to take my photos for me. I wrote more about my current thoughts on blogging and have loved all of your comments.
All in all, it has been a fairly chilled August, it’s always a very quiet time of year. Admittedly, it isn’t my favourite month as I know Summer is coming to an end but I am ready for Autumn though! I remember how much I enjoyed Autumn last year, it’s a beautiful time of year. September looks to be a fun month ahead, I have the photoshoot coming up as mentioned (I’ll be behind the camera), a 30th birthday party and a reunion with my uni friends! Then after that, I’m going to start saving up for Christmas! Ugh!

  1. This was a very interesting post! Your pictures are always so pretty and professional looking, you're like… my photospiration if that makes any sense at all haha. But anyways, reading more of your post I think it's a good idea that you're not stressing so much about getting a perfect snap of your outfit while out and about but I think your pictures look good even if it's just in a regular backdrop or setting. Your blog is a big part of your life obviously but it's not your whole life which is a good thing!

I'm sad for summer to end but I too am very excited for the fall. 🙂

  2. I've just come home from travelling in Thailand for 6 weeks, and I'm catching up on blogs – yours is one I went straight to read because it's just so down to earth and lovely to read. The rainbow cake looks delicious, and I definitely want to try that rekorderlig! xx

  3. I am from Manchester, it is such a wonderful city to explore! The Northern quarter is my favourite, the smoothies and cake in Home Sweet Home are also amazing if you get chance to go! I am so excited for autumn, can't wait to snuggle up in cosy clothes!
