Newcastle quayside, things to do in newcastle
easter holidays
Spring hasn’t fully sprung yet. Not in the north, anyway! If it’s not grey and wet, it’s sunny with strong winds! On one of the odd day that the sun was shining, we headed up to Newcastle for a little day out. I absolutely love walking around in Newcastle when the weather is good, so we took the opportunity to spend the day. I spent far too much time at Fenwicks beauty department, and discovered lots of new shops, cafes, and a cupcake parlour! I really miss living in the city, but sadly, I’m not in the position to move there right now.
We also had the Easter holidays last month, of course, which I hope you all enjoyed! I love this time of year when there’s several bank holidays to enjoy but as I’ve mentioned before, it is most likely that I’ll end up working! (BORRRRING) I’ve actually still got lots of chocolate left from Easter so I’ll be devouring that over the weekend. Did anyone else try the Cadbury’s Creme Egg ice creams? They were sooo good! Possibly my new favourite thing about Easter!
I think I’m going to start keeping a journal or something to write down the things that I’ve been upto (another excuse to buy more stationery!) only because I’m trying to think of all the things that I’ve been doing, and been through over the past month and my mind has gone blank. I actually used to write a lot. Perhaps I need to put my phone down and pick up the pen and paper more! Even looking at my Instagram account, all that is coming to my mind is that day in Newcastle! I don’t know but maybe my brain is trying to block things out for me! It’s rare but on some days, I get so anxious that it makes me feel sick. It’s usually that strange feeling that I get, for absolutely no apparent reason, when I think something bad is going to happen to myself or someone I know, and I get so upset. Even though nothing ever happens and everyone is safe and sound! I know that deep down, I’m a tough cookie! But I’ve spent a lot of the days in April just trying to relax and re-set. I read through old and new magazines, signed up to Netflix, bought lots of pamper goodies and ate lots of chocolates. Chocolate is always a good start…
Looking forward, this month I have a fun trip to London for Niki’s birthday! In January, I won a trip where we’ll be doing lots of cool things like afternoon tea, spa treatment, tickets to see Wicked, dinner at the Shard, manicure at WAH Nails and a helicopter ride. I’ve never been on a helicopter before, but I’m not the best when it comes to flying on a regular flight. I’m petrified but it’s the first thing on the itinerary so at least I won’t have to worry about it throughout the whole trip! I’m well scared but I’m going to force myself out of my comfort zone because it’s a great opportunity and I’ll be angry with myself if I let my anxiety get in the way! I MIGHT vlog my London trip but we’ll see! I’ve never done one before so the end result might not be worth putting on the Internet but I definitely want to document the trip for myself seeing as my memory is so bad these days but it will be a super nice thing to look back on!

  1. Oooooh did you go to the Great British Cupcakery? It's amazing in there, they give you the most ridiculously huge slices of cake 🙂

Weather is bonkers at the moment, I went out this morning and it was so beautiful and sunny, I was happily strolling around Northumberland St in a t-shirt, now the sun has vanished and it's freeeeeezing!

Your trip to London sounds immense, make sure you blog all about it, I'll be wanting all the details 🙂 Very jealous of the Shard and the helicopter! I've only been up in a helicopter once, when I was on holiday in Australia, I spent the entire day being so nervous and worried about it but once the time came it was absolutely amazing and I'm so glad I did it.

I've had my nails done at Wah before, they're so clever, you can ask for anything you like and they can do it. I got tulips painted on my nails before I went to Amsterdam and they looked so good.

  2. My dear, wanting to record the stuff you've done is exactly what blogs are for! 🙂 Take a photo with that day and voila, blog post. I used to do really huge journal entries and it would take up so much time that I thought I could use my time more productively instead. I still don't use my time very productively =[

By the way, I notice you're still on .blogspot.com, having no luck with the domain name?? 🙁

  3. Oh Sarah… reading about your anxiety made my heart hurt for you. Those kinds of feelings are some that I've been dealing with for years and still, sadly, struggle with on a fairly regular basis. The good news is, there are lots of things that do help to manage them. And journalling just might be one of them. Thinking of you, lovely girl.

  4. I'm going to get a journal too, to start writing down anything and everything. It's my birthday on wednesday and it seems like a good time to start <3
