monochrome trend for spring summer
heart shaped handbag, quilted bag
At the beginning of the week, I featured a blue polka dot shirt in my March wishlist and although I really love it, I think I’ve got enough blue coloured clothing in my wardrobe. It comes in white but I’ve already got something similar from F&F. So whilst I was browsing on ASOS, I came across this black one and I added it in to my cart straight away! I’d say that I’m quite drawn to polka dot prints – always have done – but I’m also very conscious of it making me look young and child-like. I’ve come to realise that I should most definitely stay away from polka-dot dresses but I’m pretty much in love with spotty shirts. The shirt is a boxy and slightly baggy (I love!) and it is the perfect length for me to wear it casually untucked. Most shirts, I find, are too long for me and go past my hips so I have to tuck it in otherwise it makes me look short and stumpy but I’m quite sick of wearing shirts tucked in. Can’t believe how windy and cold it has been lately, so no photos of this outfit without the jacket but I can see myself wearing this shirt a lot so I’m sure I’ll be able to show you what it look like without a heavy jacket or coat over it.
Hopefully, wearing my new shirt this way with a leather jacket and skinny jeans doesn’t make me look like a 12 year old, even if I do have a heart-shaped handbag hanging from my shoulder! The bag was another thing on my wishlist, I actually featured it in the lilac and it does come in other colours but I thought the black would be more practical, it will go with everything. I might have to ban myself from making anymore of these wishlists because I end up buying things from it (buyers remorse). With this outfit being completely black, bar a few white dots, I thought the heart-shaped bag would make it look less serious!

  1. You don't look childish at all, but the polka dots and heart shaped bag combo is very cute! I love polka dots too, it's a pattern I've always been drawn to no matter what I spy it on. I have a shirt very similar to this, only it's sheer and needs a top underneath it to save my modesty. Wearing your hair up really suits you! xxx

  2. I love polka dot everything so I'm loving this shirt. I have a similar one, but I just lost a button on it so I guess it has to be repaired before I can wear it again. I love how yours looks with the leather jacket and wayfarers. This is a very cool look!

  3. I love this look, I have a similar shirt from Topshop and wear it constantly. The bag is just too cute, I may have to hunt that one down! x

  4. This is such a lovely outfit Sarah! I am a sucker for polka dots too, if an item of clothing has them on I will more than likely buy it haha. I had a bag very similar to this one from ASOS on my wishlist a while back too, I'm even more tempted to purchase it now 🙂 xx

  5. You look absolutely adorable! I love that polka dotted top and I love the leather jacket you paired with it; it gives the outfit a bit of an edgy twist in my opinion. I'm also in love with that heart shaped bag! That has to be one of the cutest bags I've ever seen and it's definitely very spring-y in my opinion.

Such a cute outfit! I'm so glad I'm on spring break this week, I've missed seeing your posts! 🙂
