black cut out ankle boots

I know that not everyone likes these cut-out ankle boots, it certainly wasn’t love at first sight for me either but I’ve been swayed! I’m not a fan of cut-outs in anything (I don’t get why dresses have cut outs at the back or the sides!) and I didn’t like these boots when they first surfaced BUT…now that there available in less chunky, less masculine styles, I am quite drawn to them! I really like black and gold accessories, and the buckle detailing is a winner in my eyes. I only have one pair of boots, which I wear all year round, so I’ve been considering buying a new pair.
Recently, I found myself browsing the websites (virtual window shopping), I found a few pairs that tickled my fancy! It would go really well with a leather biker jacket, tartan scarf and a dress! It would definitely be the easiest way to toughen up a few of the floral dresses that I’ve got in my wardrobe, making florals more appropriate for winter!
Do you have a pair of these cut-out ankle boots? Where did you get yours from and are they comfortable?

  1. I have a few different pairs (new ones on the blog today actually haha), the non-leather ones are the most comfortable but I just think I need to wear them in. I really love #1, I now want a pair with metal heels! I don't think you can go wrong, they look cute with frilly ankle socks in the cold weather too. I've never understood dresses with cut outs either…

P.S I think you should embrace your SpiritHood and the quote, 'People will stare. Make it worth their while.' 😉 <3

  2. I really want some cut out boots but I agree, they look a lot clunkier than regular ankle boots. The first pair you've linked are really nice. They look a lot more feminine & I love that gold plate on the heel xx

  3. I'm personally not a fan of cut out boots but that is only because I hate the idea of getting cold feet. The first pair you have linked are just a cut out version of the ones I have, they do a full boot in it too and they are soooo nice 🙂 pricey but nice!

  4. I love boots number 2 and 3! They are something that I would try to wear for sure!
Specially the number 3 *-* They have a classic feel!

Please take care, have a nice day!*

  5. I really like them, especially the first Lavish Alice ones! With white frilly socks they can look nice, but they are soooo impractical in this weather! haha

  6. These are all such cute pairs! I never really bought into coltrane boots when they first came out, but I do agree that these look a lot more feminine. I especially love that first one with the accent heel!

  7. I love mine, at first I didn't like them, but I realised that I could wear them with so much, and I fell in love with them. Mine are from Newlook x

  8. Oh dear, I like the entire first row! I normally don't like cut-out shoes but I've been surprised by how open to suggestions I've been over the last few months. I think a friend of mine is to blame.

I really like the first Lavish Alice pair. Are their shoes of good quality?

  9. i still haven't figured out if i like cut-out boots or not! at first i didn't like them at all, but now i'm starting to think about buying a pair! x

  10. Ooh I feel in love with this style of bootie hard and fast! Something about them is so appealing to me, though I am only attracted to certain styles, some of them I feel can look a little on the cheapo side (especially for what you pay for them) so i can understand your reluctance!

  11. I tried a pair on in New Look but I felt like the cut out was too low and I didn't feel like my foot was in the shoe properly, but I do still like them. I think pair 2 are my favourite xxx

  12. I have to admit to hating all these bizarre cut out dresses I keep seeing on celebs but your boot pics are really cute! And great with a pair of coloured tights!

  13. I don't own any cut out boots but have been curious myself! I think they look great and as you say, perfect way to toughen up and add some edginess to girly pieces in your wardrobe 🙂
