Tartan dress from Primark
What I Wore: Dress Primark / Trench Coat Miss Selfridge / Bag* Barratts / Shoes* Freed Of London
After spending a quick half hour shooting a video in Shoreditch, we hopped on to a bus and arrived at Oxford Street where myself and the other bloggers from all over Europe spent the day getting pampered at the Coolway store. I was straight up honest and told them that I’d never heard of the brand before (oops!) until now, but I was keen to know more! Coolway are shoe company who promises to offer comfortable and trendy shoes at an affordable price. It’s a youthful and fun brand. I looked around the shop before heading to the second floor where drinks and nibbles were being prepared. I was expecting something like a few sandwiches, cheese and pickle, but they put on such a yummy japanese/western fusion spread of sea bream sliders (this was SO good!!!), kimchi quesadillas, glass noodle salad, katsu chicken on a toasted sesame bun and wasabi chocolate brownie.
In terms of bloggers event, every little detail was planned to perfection and I really appreciate the thought that went in to it all. Hair stylist and make-up artists were on hand to help us look our very best for the WGSN Gala that evening and we even had our own chairs with our names on it!
All of this was for the purpose of celebrating the launch of Baleeblu, a new online store which recognises the talent of independent designers and are dedicated in promoting fashion and textiles designers under one roof, with most items on there limited edition so there’s little chance of seeing someone else in the same outfit. The website is very new but I’d love to see more UK brands on there. Each country has their market and naturally, like most of you guys, the UK fashion style appeal to me more because it is what I’m used to. I took it for granted but I can see a difference in style, and now I feel I should appreciate the fact that London is one of the “fashion capitals” of the world. It will be interesting to see how Baleeblu develops, but having started the journey with them from the beginning, and seeing the work they’ve put into it, I’m excited for the plans they have in the future!
