A Tiny Projector For Instagram Photos
HOW CUTE IS THIS!!! OMG!
Out of all the Instagram products that I have seen so far such as fridge magnets, stickers, shiny polaroid print outs and phonecases, this tiny projector from Projecteo* is by far the best!
I am SUCH a sucker for novelty items or little gadgets like this. I fall for it hook, line and sinker! In the 80s, I had one of those ViewMaster toys (does anyone remember those?) and the Disney reels kept me entertained and this sort of reminds me of that (kind of).
When you visit the Projecteo website, the first thing you do is select your photos from Instagram and they are then developed on to a single frame of 35mm Kodak film which are placed in a black wheel.
For some reason, I thought the whole thing would be bigger but it measures about 4cm x 4cm, (so diddy!) and it arrives already assembled. It includes batteries so all I had to do was pop the reel in and clickety click click… the imaged are projected on to a wall.
You only nine slots on the reel so when I was picking out the photos I wanted to use, I decided to make the slideshow in to a theme.
I chose the nine photos that reminded me of what I got up to this Summer which included my sister’s wedding in July, being a bridesmaid, going to Liverpool, Oscar staying with me, going to Germany for a bloggers event and a day trip out to the beach.
The quality of projected slideshow is good, just how you’d expect. They have got a slight blur quality to it but the wonderfully low-fi quality is all part of the concept. You can actually twist the grey lens to focus, which is really smart!
I kind of wish this was a keyring aswell, it would give me a valid reason to carry it around and show it to friends/family/colleagues/ice breaker with new pals. If people see it hooked around your keys, they will probably always point it out and ask what it is. It’s a good conversation starter! It would give Projecteo another purpose.
Although it is the best Insta-gadget I have seen, it is also the most expensive. The thing that I think most people will be put off by is the price. The set cost $34.98 – about £22 – which includes the unit and the wheel. Extra wheels can be bought for $8.99.
However, postage is free and they are quick to deliver all the way from the US. I suppose it would make a unique present for birthdays and Christmas, maybe a nice Secret Santa present for a friends because it is a very cool gadget and it will make them look at it in amazement!
Overall, Projecteo is pretty special and unique, and it is personalised. Guaranteed to get the oooh’s and aaah’s!
