Blazer Topshop / Blouse* Ravi Famous / Clutch Bag* NotOnTheHighStreet / Jeans Miss Selfridge / Ballet Pumps Freed of London

Not quite the same as the cobbles of Somerset House during London Fashion Week, but here I am in a quiet and rather blustery corner of the Quayside. We went out for dinner and this is what I wore, only to realise upon viewing the outfit photos on my camera that it looks a bit lawyer-esque. Which is is why my blog title is what it is today. “I don’t rely on mirrors so I always take Polaroids“. Which of course is a quote from Clueless, and all said in a tongue in cheek way. As much as I wish I was Cher Horrowitz, I don’t have a Polaroid camera and of course, I rely on mirrors like a normal person! Anyway – Not that there’s anything wrong with lawyer attire, and I do like this outfit but I felt it was too formal for a family get together. Ooops!
When the outfit is broken down though, it doesn’t seem or sound too formal at all. Skinny jeans, a shirt, a blazer and ballet pumps. Perhaps it’s because I’m carrying a clutch bag (from Not On The HighStreet), which gives the outfit a different look. I usually carry my black satchel which looks more casual, but the clutch definitely dresses the outfit up. You can probably tell from my personal style posts that I love shirts like this, it is lace with a burgundy bow. The photos of it are better on my Fuchsia Pink Jacket post, that is still one of my favourite outfit post!

I try to use Sunday’s post to catch up with you all on a personal level, something I can’t do when I write up beauty reviews! What have you all been up to lately? LFW has been and gone. I’ve actually tried to switch off from Facebook and Twitter during that time. I have been enjoying reading the blog posts about it but not so much on Twitter; the information goes too fast and there’s so much to take in! This is very un-fashion like, but I prefer to catch up with it in my own time. On the other side of things, I have friends who are designers for high street brands who go to LFW for work purposes, so it’s also nice to hear about it from their point of view too. I’ve never felt compelled to go, there’s no reason for me to. I’ll leave it up to the professionals!

I was actually in London last week but not for LFW, but it was for a photo/video shoot with a fashion brand. I got to spend the day with some other bloggers too, it was a fun day and a great experience. There’s a long wait until it’s all ready to be revealed because it is to promote the brand’s party season range. I can’t wait to show you the photos from the shoot, but I’m sure it won’t be long until then….we all know how quickly CHRISTMAS creeps up on us!

  1. What an amazing outfit!
The red ribbon for me it's what makes it even more special. Funny how a simple thing can completely change an outfit.

Please Take Care, Have a nice day!*

  2. I haven't been able to read your blog for over a week now so I rather like that I've read this post. It feels as sociable as your posts always are. I kind of drifted off for a moment and started replying your questions aloud.

I don't think you look too severe at all. The slightly imperfect up-do and your slightly askew ribbon look like you picked up a call from someone telling you to meet, simple threw on your blazer, grabbed the first bag you could reach and walked our with ease.

Then again, this is how I like to dress on a daily basis so perhaps I'm biased.

I hope you're doing all right!

P.s. What blusher did you use?

  3. This blouse looks so pretty on you, I love the ribbon neck tie! You're right about LFW on Twitter, it does go reallllly quickly. I saw that picture of you with some other bloggers on Twitter, can't wait to read what it's all about. 🙂

  4. You do look very sophisticated Sarah! I have to admit I thought this was a going to work outfit post, but I think it's just because of the blazer and white shirt combo – that's what my brain instantly thinks! When I look more closely at the details of the outfit like the lace and the pretty ribbon, it seems less formal but still very sophisticated and chic 🙂 I really love it, and the way you style items together. Also really love the pink jacket post too! Your trip to London sounds very exciting, can't wait to hear more about it xx

  5. I think you look fab, you can never look too dressed up in my opinion! I agree, I prefer to take in Fashion Week a bit slower so I can take it all in properly otherwise it's all a bit overwhelming! xxx
