We went back to my parents house this weekend to collect a few parcels that had been sent there, and decided to shoot some outfit photos. While we were there, I decided to try out my new app which I think some of you might like the sound of! I discovered VideofyMe at the weekend and have been keen to have a go! If you like Instagram and Vine, I recommend downloading the VideofyMe app and if you do decide to download it, come and find me a username TempSec! You can film up to 10 minutes with filters to add to your frames, and also edit and cut too.

The quality of my video (shown above) is less than perfect – and I’m super sorry about that! – but VideofyMe is a mobile phone app hence why I filmed it off my phone! The shakey, lo-res quality kinda kills me, but lets try get past that! You guys know I like the imagery and visuals on my blog to be nice and clear, but this was our first attempt and I’m sure we’ll get better at it! The app itself is awesome and easy to use, it’s another one to add to your phone’s social media folder! You don’t have to be a wizz at filming or editing, although if my video is anything to go by, you’ll need to find a friend with a steady hand! (Ha, sorry Niki). You can pick songs from your iTunes library to go on your video, and being the sensible sally that I am, the first question I asked the support team was if this is actually allowed. They said they’d get back to me and I was going to wait until I’ve found out the answer but I was too to try out this app! …So, as it turns out, I’m not that sensible after all!

For a long time now, I’ve wanted to do outfit/YouTube videos but my camera, which is a Nikon, is absolutely terrible for filming! It has got the ability to film but the sound is REALLY AWFUL, it picks up a lot of noise and the videos all sounded like a small squeaky animal swimming in the ocean! I haven’t persevered because I haven’t figured out how to edit, or what software to use. Perhaps I will start doing outfit videos, but as it won’t have narration, I’ll have to find a suitable royalty-free tune to go with it! Or maybe I should just stick to photographs instead!

Not a sponsored post – I just wanted to film a short outfit video, and also tell you about it incase you wanted to have a go too! 🙂

  1. What a clever little app! If you can work out the resolution issue then it'll be perfect. I really like outfit videos because you can see how a garment really fits/moves. This jacket is gorgeous on you!

As for Nikon sound quality, I think Steph from Stephanie Dreams fixed it by buying an affordable external mic! I might experiment with this myself being a fellow Nikon user… 😉

  3. Aw I think the video is cool! It's really neat to see an outfit with actual live movement. I really love your pink blazer and how much it really jazzes up a simple outfit.

  4. This outfit is amazing – girly and elegant at the same time which is what I love. I am a hudge fan of your style and it's pure pleasure to browse your blog. I've been looking for an app to edit videos for a while now, but I didn't want to download Vine, becuse I wasn't sure if I want to share my videos. I use app called splice , but I have to try out VideofyMe since it has filters it could be very useful.

    Have a lovely day 🙂

  5. I love that you're trying something new 🙂 and you will get better at it each time you do it I think! Maybe you could get a tripod for your phone to make it easier? I didn't think I'd ever to outfit of the day posts but I've done a few, but on videos I really don't think I'll do it! I'm such an awkward person, I never know how to stand for a photo nevermind a video! xx P.s. Your pink blazer is so girly but smart! I love it!
