Wedge Sandal Shoes from ZARA

It was literally love at first sight when I clapped eyes on this pair of chunky wedged platforms. I bought these on a whim after reading one of Michelle’s blog post. I clicked through to her link, intended only to have a quick browse but with a few special occasions at the forefront of my mind, I made the quickest purchase for these shoes to wear for a wedding! Perhaps I got a little over-excited, I’m not usually so impulsive but I literally saw them, added to basket and checked out in less than five minutes. It was love at first sight! I just hope they don’t give me blisters! I expected them to be really expensive but they were only £29.99. I’ve bought shoes like this from Miss Selfridge for double the price. When it comes to buying shoes, I never think of ZARA footwear and now I want to buy every single pair! My local store is an hour away and even so, they don’t stock a huge range of shoes. I’ve just had another look on the website but had to click away due to temptation! Now all I have to do is find an outfit to wear them with!

When it comes to parties or occasions, I tend to opt for chunky platforms. I wouldn’t usually go for nude colour but I didn’t fancy them in the black. The nude ones are perfect as I bought them to wear at a wedding. So, what would you normally wear nude coloured shoes with? I don’t really know but I’m wearing a maxi, so the not-so-elegant chunkiness will be almost completely hidden. I wouldn’t wear these shoes if my legs weren’t covered by a maxi or trousers because nude shoes don’t go with thick tights (I’m not ready to reveal my pale legs yet!), and revealing the ankle strap will make me look shorter too. It does seem rather silly to buy such pretty shoes and making a fuss about how dreamy they are and then not having them on display, so to speak! They will be unseen under my floaty maxi dress but I do like they makes me slightly taller. It’s a girl thing, you ladies will get where I’m coming from, right?!

  1. I am in love with these shoes! I tried them on recently but had no reason/money to buy them! I personally would wear them with a bright coloured mini/shift dress 🙂 although having short legs, the ankle strap will make me look so stumpy! xo

  2. Ahh, swoooon! These are beautiful Sarah, I actually had my eye on these for a friend's wedding but have decided to wear my bright ones instead, haha. They'll look amazing with a maxi dress and perhaps a metallic-esque skinny belt? xxxx

  3. They have been on my radar too, but I'm trying to save up for an 'investment buy' so my shopping wishlist has been put on a temporary hold… Would you consider doing a review of them after you have worn them/ after the wedding? x

  4. This are on my wish list – i'm hoping to get them next week as long as I have a good week on Ebay! Got a few things ending!

  5. These are gorgeous! I'm currently coveting a pair of nude studded sandals from Zara, but I've never bought footwear from there either. I saw them by chance when I went into Chester one day, but resisted, and now I'm going back to try them on again!! Maybe you could wear these with a lighter coloured tight like grey? I'm an opaque tights kind of girl so I know where you're coming from with that – my legs are so pale they're pretty much translucent!! xx

  6. I get so excited taking something out of a box if I was looking forward to it arriving! best feeling!
Don't worry about having pale legs – really, just go with the skin you were born with, so much better than any dodgy tanning fiascos! As the shoes are nude I think it will look great anyway, and nevermind about the ankle-strap – the point of nude is that they'll lengthen your legs anyway :)! xx

  7. Those heels are lovely! I haven't succumbed to heels from Zara yet – only bought flats in the past but they do have some lovely designs. So tempted to go and browse now!

  8. Ohhh those shoes are beautiful, and such a bargain too! Zara isn't really somewhere I would have thought of looking for footwear either, but I think I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on the website from now on! x

  9. These shoes are absolutely gorgeous and at £30.. just wow!
