Animal print is not really my thing, because it is something that I don’t feel bold enough to wear. With that in mind, recently I had a bit of a challenge to search for an outfit consisting of animal print for a recent girls weekend where the theme was, you’ve guessed it, animal print! There certainly isn’t a shortage of options but it was a case of buying something I’d wear again, and most of it wasn’t really my style. To be fair, anything could have classed as animal print, it didn’t have to be specifically leopard. On the first night, I wore my bird shirt and I could’ve have taken my H&M cat dress too but I completely forgot about that until a couple of days ago! As the weekend approached, it was between this cute Topshop mini dress or the blouse, the latter of which I ended up buying because it was £12.00 in the sales. It’s not really a “night out” outfit, but if I ever asked someone to make me a garment based on my style and the theme of animal print, this shirt is what they would come up with! I’m glad to have found something that suits me; Peter Pan collar, neck tie, sheer fabric. On the night, I changed in to some disco pants and some chunky heels.
Walking around Albert Docks on a sunny day was really nice. I really enjoyed my first visit to Liverpool, it’s a place I’ve always wanted to go. I’m going to try and plan another trip there before Winter comes round again. If anyone has any recommendations of places I should go on my second Liverpool trip, such as your favourite places to shop, eat, visit, please feel free to leave a comment or a tweet.

  1. I love Liverpool, especially round the docks! You really should check out The Beatles Story museum, if you're a fan, next time you go.

    I'd love the Topshop voucher!

  2. I'm not a big fan of animal print either, but sometimes there will be pieces that I will go for. Most of the prints are too bold, there will be an occasional softer animal print though like the one you're wearing.

I've never owned anything from Topshop or ASOS, but browsing their sites, Topshop is more my style 😀

    Hope all is well,
    Waho.

  3. These photos make me miss Liverpool so much — I used to love walking around the docks when I visited family!

Also, I'd love to be entered into your giveaway for ASOS vouchers 🙂

  4. I would love to win Topshop vouchers for my sister and I! Would be good to treat her before I leave for Uni and end up in horrendous debt.

    Thank you! x

  5. Love that blouse – there's always a risk of animal print looking a little cheap but this is perfect.

I'd be thrilled to win a Topshop voucher and my twitter handle is @smazgar.

    Thanks!

  6. Hey! How gorgeous is that carousel! I absolutely love that extravagant venetian style. I'm the same regarding animal print, I find it quite garish which frightens me off but that top is rather pretty. I think the neck tie makes it looks really chic.

I would love an ASOS voucher if I won. Home shopping at it's best!

  7. I love that blouse, the little bow is the cutest! I've never been to Liverpool before, but it's certainly a place I'd go to visit sometime!

Oh wow, I'd love to win a Topshop voucher!

  8. Oo I went to University of Liverpool, I'm so glad you like it! Though if you're ever in the Manchester way, give me a bell 🙂 I live in Castlefield. I'm very fussy with animal prints too, I generally don't like them but I have a chiffon pussybow blouse too, similar to yours, which I got from Miss Selfridge and it's the only animal print item of clothing that I own. This one is definitely you!

I'd love to win an ASOS voucher 🙂 [email protected] x

  9. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Liverpool! Next time you visit I'd recommend a trip to Bold Street in the city centre, it's full of quirky boutiques and vintage shops, and the infamous Quiggins is just around the corner. And for something to eat/drink, try Leaf on Bold Street, they make the most amazing foccacia!

  10. Hello! Id prefer Topshop vouchers, really like your new top. I don't have anything animal print either but that top is ally lady like. @LAFhusky on twitter.

  11. You look gorgeous, the blouse suits you so much! I feel the same about leopard print and it being quite bold, but this sweet peter pan collar and neck tie ensemble has got me lusting after it! I'm glad you enjoyed your first trip to Liverpool, living through the tunnel from there we used to spend days in town all the time, but less so lately as we've ventured to Cheshire Oaks more. If you haven't been before and get the opportunity, although it's not in Liverpool, definitely check out Cheshire Oaks 🙂 the Warehouse store there has me purchasing every time! The stores are all outlets, so the prices are discounted – bargains to be had everywhere! Did you hear about/see the yellow submarine sinking again at the docks this weekend?! Madness! I'd have to say out of the two it's a tough choice between Asos and Topshop, but I'd have to go with Asos as there's just such a variety, and my saved items gets bigger every week! 🙂 my email is [email protected] xxx

  12. definitely Topshop! I was in there ooh-ing and aah-ing yesterday, such a gorgeous summer collection. Lovely make up too!
Thanks for the comp 🙂 (and loving the leopard print!)

  13. You look fab in this shirt, animal print can be hard to wear though.

  14. I have loved your blog, it amazed me for hours and I am already following.
I have found your article on Look when you teamed up with Malibu and you might find it weird but I am now obsessed with eye glasses as recently diagnosed with short-sightedness and now need to wear glasses always and forever… even on the tube on the way to work I take too much attention to people who wear eye glasses and I have been reading articles on how to use my make-up now. It really affected me as I have known myself for 23 years without using glasses.

Anyway, I would love the £50 voucher for TOPSHOP. 🙂

  15. Her style is very minimalist and her DIY's are actually easy and stylish. I feel like it's very easy to translate to my own closet. I'm kind of obsessed with what I think of as miami girl style right now, bright but edgy, with lots of Jeffrey Campbell and UNIF.

  18. Love a good night out in the'pool – and I also love me some Leopard Print ! Your blouse is very cool – maybe if I won some Topshop vouchers I would be lucky enough to snag myself a bargain ?

    @uknitty

  19. Like you I'm not brave enough for animal print either but I actually think this shirt looks really nice, and I think the key is keeping it simple like you have so the print isn't too in your face 🙂 xx

I would love to enter your giveaway for a Topshop voucher please 🙂 My email is [email protected]

  23. oh i know how you feel about animal print, i was like that at first too, not just that i don't feel 'brave' ebough to wear it, moreso there's so much really tacky stuff about! on rare occasion i'll buy something if it's more understated or in my style. this top is really cute and i love the bow!

i would love to win the vouchers! i hardly have any new clothes at all so i'd love a little splurge! i'd prefer the ASOS voucher and i'm @cardboardcities on twitter.
