Those who have followed my blog and Twitter from the very beginning back in 2008 will have seen these illustrations before. They’ve been on my blog
, my website, a book, now they’re on my phonecase. I remember working on these as if it was yesterday, it was a week before my final major project at university and I was panic drawing to fill the pages of my portfolio. I know is not good work practice to do things last minute but I work best under pressure… that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Another funny thing that I recall about that evening was that I was alternating my time between uni work and fake tanning – two things that no one should be doing in a panicked state of mind! At least one thing turned out ok that night and that was my work. I always go back to these “last minute drawings” because I don’t hate them, and the reason I don’t hate them is because they were not critisized by my tutors. There was simply no time for them to give me their joyful feedback. Draw and run!
Caseapp asked me to try their website to create a custom iPhone case and it was extremely tempting to use yet another photo of Oscar but I had a look through the archives and decided to make some nice colourful ones with my own artwork. I’m really pleased how these have turned out because I was unsure about how true the colours would come out. I can confirm that it was exactly how I wanted it and I’m impressed with the quality. They currently only offer cases for iPhone 4, 4s and 5 and retails at £19. Delivery cost is free and it took 7 working days for the parcel to reach me. Caseapp are letting me give one custom iPhone case cover away and you can upload anything you want on the design, it can be artwork, some text or photo(s). The giveaway will be hosted on my Facebook Page tomorrow.
