Tea Dress from Playful Promises

Tea Dress* Playful Promises / Shoes* Barratts
This pretty tea dress is from a brand called Playful Promises. They are primarily known for being a lingerie brand but have recently launched a clothing range which completely embodies the their flirty, vintage and fun branding. I picked this dress as I think it is what suits me best, but there are lots of gorgeous silk blouses and peplum dresses if you can pull the style off. You can’t tell from the photos, and it is very cleverly hidden but there’s a panel across the dress (just below the bust) which holds everything together, giving structure and a flattering shape to the body, almost like how a corset would. The skirt also starts just above the tummy so this dress does a great job of holding in the part that most women are insecure about, yet hide it under the lovely floaty-ness of the skirt. It’s the little things like that which independent shops get right, they care about designing garments that people feel great in. We can trust Playful Promises to make women feel sexy in their clothes! They do specialise in lingerie, after all!

A dress like this needs to be teamed up with some fancy shoes! I’ve been trying to match these red shoes with my other clothes but nothing goes together as this dress. It must be because it’s a vintage-style dress and I immediately want to team it up with 50’s style red peep toe shoes! These shoes were a present as I was Barratt’s Blogger Of The Week earlier on in the month. If you have a blog and want to be featured, scroll down to the Blogger of The Week page and you will find out how to get in touch with them.

My giveaway for Audrey Hepburn book is now live, I posted it earlier today but if you missed it, you can find it here.

I'll definitely be checking these guys out, and I totally agree with you about independent labels. The best clothes I own are generally from independents. They just add the added thoughtfulness which makes an item fit better. Thanks for sharing x
