Dress Topshop / Jewellery T:S / Jacket ASOS / Hat Monki

I bought this dress on a whim but I wish I returned it. Anyway, I went out to dinner a few days ago and I wore this dress for the occasion so it’s too late to take it back now. I have convinced myself that I’ll probably wear it a lot more when the weather is warmer! It creases really easily and I only realised when I took these photos that not only the skirt was creased (front and back), there are also creases on the top front which are less than flattering! God knows how scruffy I’ll look after a full day in this dress. That’s not a big issue, lots of clothes do that regardless of the price. Nothing the iron couldn’t fix! However, the sleeves are not great; every time I lift my arms up I feel the sleeves are going to split! It sounds like such a tedious thing to complain about, I know, but I have such gripe with Topshop clothes when they’re not comfortable (Topshop in particular due to their increasing prices – I’m just being petty, really!). I should have worn the dress around the house for a few minutes before removing the tag. A heads up to anyone thinking of purchasing this, it would be best to try it on in the changing rooms – the sleeves thing really annoys me as it’s kind of restricting on movement!

Last week, I posted a photo on Instagram of an Audrey Hepburn book and mentioned that I have one copy to give away. Tomorrow I will be blogging about it so if you’re an Audrey fan, be sure to come back and check it out! I’m just about to write it up and get images sorted out for the post ready for tomorrow. The giveaway (courtesy of Aurum Press / @AurumPress ) will commence the on following day, Thursday, with hopefully another outfit post to follow depending on the lighting and whether I can get any decent photos taken. The photos above were taken in the evening so had to increase the ISO setting to the highest which makes the images a little fuzzy but never mind! Probably better that the clarity of the image is slightly hindered or you might see those pesky little creases in all it’s glory. (scruffy!!)

  1. I took my dress of this back, the 10 was far to big for me and the 8 was too small, but I kept the 8 even though I was pretty much breaking out of it and then after one wear the fabric went very bobbely! It's happened to my other version of this dress to!
I do love the colour and pattern however, and I love the look of it with a collar underneath!

  2. You always look so well put together .Ah this is such a cute preppy look! The dress is gorgeous and I love how you've styled the outfit by mixing the burgundy shade of the dress with turquoise #love. xx

  3. Aw I hate when sleeves are uncomfortable too. I usually just try to deal with it though, sadly. At least the dress is super cute! The color and polka dots are perfect.

  4. That is the perfect dress for autumn with the maroon colour, polka dots and the peter pan collar – shame it's not well made 🙁 Cute outfit nevertheless! x
