There are lots of new arrivals at Jules B and I have been perusing the shop and their website to see what I can add to my (dream) wishlist. The photos above show the pieces that caught my eye the most. First up, we have a black laser cut top by 2ND DAY which I can just about pass as a dress because of my short height. It’s a really lovely garment and the structure of it is really unique not to mention the beautiful laser cut detail. Whilst I was at the Jules B boutique, I was allowed to try some of the accessories and jewellery on and I picked out this chunky metal plaited bracelet from a brand called Nouv-Elle, which I now wish I purchased as it is only £14.99!
Moving on to a more well known designer, Jules B is also a stockist of Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania line. There was a few dark coloured A/W pieces but I really loved the fuscia pink “Better Knot” dress. It embodies the signature Westwood touches such as asymmetrical hemline and draped bodice. This dress wouldn’t suit me, I don’t think any the Vivienne Westwood designs would suit me – I don’t feel like I have the body to pull it off but I have such admiration for her as a designer and as an industry icon. Several years ago, I went to the V&A to visit her exhibition and it was so interesting to see her career from the early years through to present day, I have been a fan of her work ever since.
The beautiful bird print shirts and scarves are the new offering from McQ by Alexander McQueen. During the weekend, I had the chance to flick through a book called Savage Beauty which features work and quotes by Alexander McQueen. Just like Vivienne Westwood, he wasn’t scared to push the boundaries. He dared to be innovative in his designs, his legacy lives on. The McQ brand is a lower priced diffusion line aimed to target a younger audience. This bird print takes the “bird print trend” to another level. Both McQ and Anglomania are placed together in the Jules B shop, which I think it rather perfect.
Items shown in the images (in order, from the top):
2ND Day black laser cut top – Moschino Cheap and Chic – Vivienne Westwood Anglomania – McQ By Alexander McQueen – Armani Jeans – Nouv-Elle Jewellery – Bruno Premi Python Heels – Sam Edelman Shoes
Side Note: I got a few questions about my camera on my previous Jules B blog post. These photos were taken with Nikon D3100 with a 50mm lens.
