Krispy Kreme metrocentre / Tru Blood Orange drink from www.cybercandy.co.uk

I’m a huge fan of Krispy Kreme, I don’t like any other doughnuts. Anyone who has ever tried their doughnuts have been eager for Krispy Kreme to arrive in the North East. Thanks to Klee, I got the opportunity to go to their Hotlight store launch at Metrocentre in Gateshead last week. Can’t say no to donuts and a glass of bubbly, and learn how to do a “doughnut” dance. Going to try those moves next time I hit the dancefloor! I knew it would be a fun, relaxed and easy-going event. Now, I know that Krispy Kreme isn’t new to the majority of people who is reading this but this is the first store in the north east, and a milestone 50th UK branch. I had troubles trying to find my way there but we got there in the end. The store which also has a drive-thru service is located in the new complex called MetrOasis which is situated outside of the Metrocentre, between the red and yellow carpark.
Metrocentre is Europe’s largest shopping and leisure centre. It used to have an indoor theme park and a big arcade. That has been replaced with Odeon/IMAX and lots of restaurants including the ever popular Nandos, Wagamamas, Frankie and Benny’s and Yo! Sushi.
I treated myself and my family to a double dozen, alongside a glass of Tru Blood* which is a blood orange sparkly drink. This drink isn’t from Krispy Kreme but it is available from Cyber Candy. Tru Blood is an official HBO Licensed product, a product that is inspired by the tv series, True Blood. I’ve never watched it – should I start watching it? Is it good?

  1. I absolutely love True Blood and my my ego did a little back flip when I saw this on your blog! True Blood is quite an addictive show. The fifth season has just finished in America. I suggest you watch them all from the first series as the characters and story lines are quite developed at this stage. A colleague of mine has also lent me the Sookie Stackhouse novels, on which the show was based. xx

  2. i'm quite ashamed to say this, but i never tried krispy kreme until last week at the office, they're lush ! x

  4. Aww, the metro centre, how I miss thee! I've been waiting for this to open for a while, then I was gutted to find it opened in September just as I move away!
I love Krispy Kreme, although my mum cannot fathom how a box of donuts costs £10 haha.
    xo

  5. Yay! I'm so glad you finally got one near you! Would love to see you doing the doughnut dance haha! My brother-in-law was down from Derby yesterday and I had a box of Krispy Kreme's and he'd never heard of them. I've got about 6 left so I know what I've got for breakfast today – that's acceptable right? x

  6. I've never had a krispy kreme doughnut before, they look so yummy though 🙂 I have been hooked on true blood since the start, if you like those vampire type shows I'd say it's worth a watch 🙂 xx

  7. Ahh Krispy Kremes are amazing – they recently opened one near my work and I was over the moon (although my diet has gone down the pan since!) my favourite is definitely the 'millionaire shortbread' xx
