For the past two years, I have dyed my hair using John Frieda’s Precision Hair Foam and Clairol’s Nice ‘n’ Easy and since then, I’ve had to make sure that I take extra effort to condition my hair regularly. I don’t use anything special though, just what’s available on drugstore shelf! Sometimes I just buy what’s on offer and the only expensive hair products I use are the ones I receive in beauty sample boxes. Below are the products I use on my hair. Scroll further down for the Limited Edition GHD Hair dryer giveaway!

Here’s a snap shot of the products I use on my hair almost every day or every other day. I’m not fussy about what shampoo I use, but at the moment, I am using Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner for Coloured Hair or my favourite Aussie Hair Shampoo for Everyday Cleaning which has minimal build up as it so promises. It smells SO nice too! Using the Aussie Hair Shampoo leaves my hair really clean for up to two days but as it isn’t a formula that protects coloured hair, I often opt for the Herbal Essences most days. In between days that I don’t wash my hair, I rely on Basiste and the cherry scented can is my favourite. Where would we be without dry shampoo!! I’m in two minds about the Tangle Teezer. I have got other hairbrushers but they are just regular brushes, nothing special. I decided to include the tangle teezer in this post because I would love to hear what you think of it. Although it does detangle, I must be using it wrong but it still pulls and it reeaaally hurts!!!! I think I’m using it wrong though, or my expectations are too high – or maybe the knots in my hair are just extra troublesome – because the point of the Tangle Teezer is that is detangles without pulling or tugging.
Three extra treatments that I use on my hair are Aussie Hair conditioner spray which smells like peaches (yum!), L’Oreal’s Mythic Oil and Philip Kingsley Elastizer. Both the oil and elastizer were samples from Glossybox. I use these products once a week and I alternate (at random) which one I use so that is why the products lasts so long. I don’t see much of a difference to my hair when I use the Philip Kingsley Elastizer and the conditioner spray but I’m sure my hair benefits from it somehow! If my hair could speak(?!), it would be saying “thank you for using these products on me!”…. I particularly love the Mythic Oil and would recommend it because I can feel the difference it makes as it leaves my hair softer and smooth. I would re-purchase this product again and again. I am keen to try Moroccan oil as well, I’ve heard a lot of good things about it but Mythic Oil will do until it runs out.

I have never owned such a posh hair dryer! I don’t know why but although I don’t mind spending a little bit more on hair tools such as curlers, conical wands and straighteners, I always go “bog standard” when purchasing hair dryers. This was sent to me to review and I am allowed to give one away too! As I LOVE my readers very much, I couldn’t say no! 🙂 This is such a brilliant and high quality product too, something that GHD are well known for! My first GHD product was of course the best-selling hair straighteners. I bought them about 9 years ago, I think? 8 or 9! They have lasted all this time so I’m very confident that this GHD Air Pink Cherry Blossom hairdryer will last me a good decade!
This is a limited edition and powerful hairdryer with shiny but subtle hot pink chrome accent detailing and it is designed in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The presentation of the packaging is something that screams “premium”. The hairdryer retails at £99.00 and you really get a sense that GHD are a company that care about quality and durability. It comes with two nozzles, and a heat-resistant satin storage dustbag with a cherry blossom embroidery design. The hairdryer itself is quite heavy so it isn’t one to take on your travels but it’s perfect to use within home comforts. I couldn’t wait to try it, it made me feel like it will work miracles on my hair! It’s got two power levels plus temperature controls and a cool blast.  The power cord is longer than usual too which seems like such a small thing but I’ve found that really handy!

As I have been offered to give one away, the giveaway will be open to my blog, twitter and facebook. Here’s how you win your very own GHD Professional Hairdryer worth £99.00!

  1. Wow! I love GHD, my trusty straighteners have lasted me for years, I love them. The celeb hair I would love to have is Rihanna's – the colour, the style, her ability to switch it up and give herself a completely new look, I love it!

  2. great post, i also love the smell of aussie products! and use that mythic oil a few times a week and have definitely noticed a difference. i've used moroccan oil before and i would say it's comparable though lighter on the hair than the original moroccan oil.

also, what a lovely giveaway! i'd love a new hairdryer. so: i envy alexa chung's hair the most as whether it's straight or wavy, it always looks natural and effortless, and it frames her face perfectly.

  3. A lovely post again – definitely considering investing in some Aussie products, now knowing they live up to their hype!!
Most envied celebrity hair would probably have to be Kate Middleton. Even before she was a fully fledged royal, and had her hair done for her, she consistently had natural, healthy looking hair.

  4. Funnily enough I saw this advertised in a magazine for the first time today! It looks great, my old hairdryer is in desperate need of replacing!!

I adore Kate Middleton's hair, it always looks amazing (probably due to having a whole team of hairdressers but hey!) her brown locks look in such good condition and her hair has just the right amount of va-va-voom!!

  5. @gholmes724

Please enter me in the draw – thank you x

I would love to try a Marilyn Monroe full on blonde bombshell look – I bet it wrecked the hair off screen.

  6. Wow- I would love to have Cheryl Coles hair as it always has so much volume and looks fabulous!
I am so envious of her hair! Also, a little different to Cheryls hair, I love Fearne Cottons hair. It always look so edgy but so stylish as well!

    I love that batiste!

I follow via GFC as Zoe Lianne and my email is [email protected]

  7. Dianna Agron's hair, whether long & flowing, short & tousled or sleek & styled, is enchanting. She can achieve both 'elegant' and 'effortless' in the same look, whilst having the luxury of being able to alter, adapt & tailor her hair precisely to fit the bill for each & every style required.

  8. Aussie and herbal essences are my top brands for shampoo/conditioner too! I love the 3 minute hair mask. I'd have to say Taylor Swift would be my hair envy. Her hair always seems so perfect and not one strand out of place. 🙂

  9. I have NO GHD products at all, this makes me so sad!

I envy Adele's hair, I know it's all wigs and extensions but I care not! I still find myself trying to create big bouffants!

  10. Zooey Deschanel or Holly Willoughby, their hair just frames their faces perfectly and looks beautifully natural 🙂

P.S. Dry shampoo is truly a wonder product, I can't imagine being without it!

  11. You hair looks gorgeous in the top pic! The herbal essence shampoo smells gorgeous, I'd not used them since before their rebrand but used this at a friends and was in awe at how good it smelt, haha.

The hair style I would choose probably would be between gillian zinser or either of the olsen twins! (A sign that I'm beginning to wish my hair would grow, perhaps?!)

    Hev x

  12. Your hair looks so gorgeous! What an amazing giveaway, I am in dire need of a new hairdryer so I'd love to enter.

I think my celebrity hair icons have to be Lauren Conrad and the Olsen twins for their gorgeous, long, golden hair which looks fantastic down in waves or scrunched up messily on top of their heads.

I also LOVE Zooey Deschanel's do too, her fringe is too perfect, major envy there.

(I feel like those are all really obvious choices)

    [email protected]

  13. I love Rachel Bilsons hair! I always say the only reason I wish I was famous is so I could have my own personal hair stylist and makeup artist haha, would be so good! Amazing giveaway again Sarah 🙂 x

  14. Oooo awesome giveaway! I still have my original GHDs that I bought about 9-10 years ago too and they're still as good as the day I bought them!

My hair envy is either Vanessa Hudgens or Nina Dobrev (when she's playing Katherine) – I love the gorgeous curls and volume!

I follow via GFC and my details are – Email: [email protected] and Twitter: @emberdrake 🙂

  15. My tangle teezer hurts too but my hair gets quite matted and I've come to realise it's not a miracle worker. I actually like to use it when my hairs been full of conditioner for a bit as it's a good detangler and I find it's less uncomfortable 🙂

I had a serious hair-crush on Rihanna's big red hair, and again in the 'we found love' video. It was so gorgeous!

    [email protected]

  16. I love Kate Middleton's hair because it looks so effortless yet it's probably one of the hardest look to achieved if you are trying to do it yourself.
Also, I really like Olivia Palermo's hair too.

    Twitter: @wanischaaa

  17. You should so do Youtube videos, I would love to watch them! If that doesnt sound creepy, then I dont know what does, but it was intended in an un-creepy way! haha
My hair envy is definetly Gillian Zinser's (hope I spelt that right!), I would do anything to have that effortless beach waves, just-got-out-of-bed look! I also really envy Shenea Grimes, I love the ombre and really wish I could do it to my hair!
I also really envy Kate Middletons hair style, not her hair so much, but the way its styled, I really want that look!
Anyway! I follow you through GFC ofcourse, and my email is oliviamorton[at]

  18. I really envy Kate Winslets hair, its so big and beautiful curls. Kate Moss has awesome hair,i love the messy look she has.

I've followed via gfc, my email is: [email protected] and I will tweet @mama_mooo

  19. This hair dryer looks great & I'm desperate for a new one as my rabbit has started eating through the cable of my current one 🙁

I adore Rachel Bilson's hair it always looks well loved and bouncy!

  20. I loooooooooooooove Emma Stone's hair when it's its natural colour! I too have dyed my hair blonde but now wish I could get it back to its proper colour! Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to dye it back to a more Emma Stone-ish shade. I also love her big sweeping side fringe and all the gorgeous updos she does!

  22. I love my tangle teezer, got it about a month ago and I’ll never use another brush again! Its great for when I’ve just got out the shower as my hair gets really tangled then. I got mine from Hairtrade it seems to be the cheapest place you can get it at the moment. I wear I&K hair extensions too and its great on them. Try holding your hair in a low pony tail and brushing from the ends of the hair first, moving upwards – this stops it pulling on your hair as much and it gets the knots out without creating more 🙂 hope it helps! xx

  23. I've wanted to get my hands on one of these for ages! Has to be either Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale or Blake Lively – The centre parting and effortless beachy waves are what I aim for, but growing out a fringe is tough! Either that or Willow Smith, I wish I could rock a shaved head 😛

  24. Amazing!

I'm a big fan of both the Olsen's hair, mostly when they have it wavy and lose. Such lovely beach/festival hair! but my 24/7 favourite is probably Blake Lively. Her hair seems so healthy/shiny and always looks great! (I'm not even a big fan of blondes!)

    [email protected]

  25. So glad you're back to your usual self and blogging regualrly again. I've missed your posts so much! You have fantastic hair and I'd have never have guessed in a million years that your dye it yourself. I wish I could do it myself but I'm just too scared!

I would love to enter the giveaway also. My favourite hairstyle has got to be K-Mid's I loved the elegant chingon she wore in her hair to the Olympic charity evening recently!

  26. Oh my lord – This is amazing! I'd love to be entered please, I've tweeted as well, and I'm already following you here and on Facebook! This hairdryer looks kickass, my 5 year old Coriolis one is really on its way out so this'd be super awesome!

Don't bother with MoroccanOil – IT IS good, but for the price, Organix do one in a blue bottle (in boots) for about £8 and the ingredients are practically the same, and it smells better – I'll always use that from now on – At the moment I've got a tiny vial of mythic oil, I love how thin it is, no greasiness, hurrah!

  27. Please may I be entered. 🙂
I can't live without my beloved GHD straighteners too! I am a huge fan of Reece Witherspoon's locks, often effortless yet classically chick!

  28. Hey!

Great blog, I have long hair too and the tangle teezer is something I have been pondering over for ages! My friend has seriously thick long hair and she doesn't go anywhere without hers?!

Anyway, everyone in the UK loves Cheryl Cole's and Kate Middleton's hair, but our idol is Victoria Beckham! Her hair is always flawless and looks amazing how ever she wears it, let's hope this hair dryer will get us a step closer to this enviable look!

  29. I love Aussie products and Herbal Essance 🙂 It proves you don't need to spend lot's of money for lush locks 🙂

My fave celeb hair would have to be Kate Middleton and Lauren Conrad. Perfect long bouncy locks 🙂

  34. My mum has the classic GHD straighteners and I love them, lucky thing! I pinch them as often as I can living away from home! I have followed you using GFC (my name is Laura Haslam), shared the photo on FB and tweeted about it using my Twitter account PorcelainLaura. As for celebrity hairstyles I envy, I love Angeline Jolie's and Eva Longorias! I also adore Namie Amuro and Nana Kitade's hair but they are Japanese celebs so not many people will know what I am on about! <3

  35. I would love to have hair like the Duchess of Cambridge! It's beautifully thick (unlike mine!) and so versatile – she looks amazing which ever way she has it styled!

Fabulous comp – I've tweeted and shared on Facebook too 🙂

  37. My hair is in pretty poor condition at the moment, pretty jealous of your lovely shiny locks! I need to try the mythic oil, and definitely get me one of those detanglers. Pretty much any celeb I am jealous of – because of their hair stylists that follow them around, never a strand out of place! Kat Dennings is my hair idol at the moment.

I follow through gfc! have tweeted too (@peaxh) and i'll be sharing on facebook as usual!

Also your hair looks lovely, very big and curly which I like! Cherly Cole-like even 😀 x

  39. Oooh I have a lot of her envy I think…but the two that come to mind are Holly Willoughby, Kelly Brook oh and a third Fearne Cotton. I Love the full bodied bouncy curls look but having quite fine hair it never really works on my hair! I would love that romantic dreamy curl look – actually not unlike your own hair in the pic above!

I have short, curly (annoyingly curly) hair, yet my hair icon is defs Michelle Williams. I absolutely love how chic she looks! Also loved Audrey Tatou when her hair was short. Carey Mulligan is a favourite too. I know folk were divided on Emma Watson's cropped hair but I loved it! They have all been my short hair inspiration 🙂

  55. I love my tangle teezer and I have really knotty hair! The way I tend to use it though is to tip my head upside down and use the tangle teezer to work the knots out of my from the bottom to the root, then put my head upright and brush through with the tangle teezer and this seems to work for me. It does pull a bit if I try to just brush straight through my hair like normal. Hope this helps a little bit 🙂

This hairdryer looks great, I really need a new one because mine keeps overheating. I think one of these days it may blow up in my hand! It's so hard to pick a celebs hair that I love, but I'd have to say Lauren Conrad, her hair always looks perfect and in such good condition. I also love Gillian Zinser's and Blake Lively's hair and how effortless but lovely it always looks. I would also love hair like yours in this picture, it looks gorgeous 🙂 xx

  59. I envy Katy Perry the most. She's a total hair chameleon and can rock any cut, colour and style out there and it makes me so jealous! Pink, blue, purple, her hair always looks shiny, lush and thick, total hair crush! Even if I'm not as brave as Katy Perry colour wise, if I won the hair dryer at least I'd be able to get the volume of Katy Perry, and I'd look stylish in the process!

  63. I love Taylor Swift's hair. Her curls always look so soft and well cared for. Her straight hair is perfect aswell never a hair out of place. Emma Watson cause massive hair envy for me, when it was long it was so simple but beautiful, it looked so healthy and perfect. While, I preferred her long hair she's one of very few who could pull off a short cropped style and it's nice to see someone taking risks with their hair- and it paying off! Zooey Deschanel's hair is perfect. The cut and colour compliment her delicate features and skin tone perfectly and she's taught me to embrace being a brunnette. In addition, I love any celebrity that has ginger hair it's such a beautiful colour. Finally, I love the famous youtuber Meganheartsmakeup because her fringe is perfect, it's a little longer than expected and it lifts of her forehead giving her hair style and volume.
