Blouse and Denim Shorts Fashion Union* / Jewellery T:S / Sandals River Island (old) / Sunnies RayBan / Hat Monki

Just like the rest of the country, I have been enjoying the sunny weather and I have got the pale pins and the ol’ knobbly knees out! I love summer so much more than the cold winter months but weather like this always catch me off guard because it feels like we’re in big coats one minute, and then summery attire the next! I feel totally unprepared for it! Right this minute, I look at the window and the sky is really gloomy and grey, so I better not put my coat away in the back of my wardrobe just yet! It also feels really strange without my thick opaque tights, it’s like my security blanket and I always feel much better when my pasty legs are covered but it has been far too hot for tights!
It is my last month blogging for Fashion Union which is a seperate installment over on their blog The Edit, and I’ve chosen a summery outfit to style up. This is my favourite Fashion Union outfit out of the three that I’ve done as their guest blogger. I’m wearing a Vila Front Tie top with a pair of Vero Moda denim shorts. You can always rely on denim shorts! I’m not in to the “festival fashion” trend – probably because I have never been to a music festival and that trend means nothing to me. I do want to go to one but I guess it’s just one of those things I’ve yet to do! Anyway, both garments go really well together as an outfit and it’s probably the type of thing I would wear if I did go to one of the summer music festivals. The blouse is so nice, it’s s cute and I love the front tie detailing – it is a loose-fit which is perfect for the balmy weather! It’s breezy!

  1. This is such a perfect summer outfit, it looks gorgeous on you! I love the print on the blouse.
I totally agree with you about tights though, it feels like I've forgotten to finish getting dressed if I don't wear tights!

  2. The colors are great! Love the sandals too 🙂
I get what you mean about being unprepared, like I'm fully clothed and the next minute I know it I have to go outside half naked (and it feels super weird btw).
We had some really hot days here too, but for some reason it just won't stop raining for days orz
    xx

  3. I never really liked denim shorts that weren't super tight, but I'm digging these. My legs are pretty pasty, too. Must be an Asian thing. x

  4. Such a cool summery outfit – I love the nails and ring combo! Your bracelet is really pretty colours too 🙂 x

  5. I have still been wearing tights, I know that's very naughty of me seen as it has been so hot. I think as you said it's a security and I feel so content in them. I think you look lovely in these photos and I will also try to brave maybe clear tights if not just my legs on their own! 🙂

  6. This outfit is definitely festival attire.. I've not been to one yet, but hopefully going this summer, and I feel I should bite the bullet and buy some denim shorts. But I'm just not so sure!
    I love the blouse you're wearing too.xx

  7. Very cute outfit! You always pull off hats so well. The shirt is lovely and very low cut – you normally have modest necklines but it looks great. I'm normally to scared to wear low cut tops! x

  8. Sarah – the top looks amazing on you. Love the print, and especially love the coordinnating jewels and nails! A girl after my own heart 😉 heehee

I also giggled lots at your "what I wore 1988" post… I've just got a scanner and have many photos of dodgy outfits circa 1991 (think Minnie Mouse polka dots and Swiss dresses/pigtails?) lol I so want to copy your idea with this one haha!

  9. There is no way in hell you have knobby knees! Haha loving this outfit, that hat really suits you and the top is super pretty. Don't know where the sun has gone, I want to get my pale pins out. Haha xx
