Dress Motel Rocks from Fashion Union / Jewellery Temporary:Secretary

Last week, I mentioned that I am a guest blogger for a fashion brand called Fashion Union and my first blog post is now live on their blog. I don’t usually give suggestions for what to wear with an outfit other than what jewellery or shoes I’m wearing myself, so I thought I would give this a go when I was browsing through Fashion Union’s website in attempt to recommend a day time and evening look (as seen below). I love florals but I don’t own many dresses with such a sharp print as this and it reminds me of Mary Katrantzou’s collection (especially the one she did for TopShop).

I really like putting these images together for the Fashion Union article and I don’t think I have done anything like that before. It makes me wish that I did a graphics outcome for my final year at uni. We were allowed to choose a graphics, surface pattern/textiles print or a fashion based project. Some people produced amazing fashion magazines, some took beautiful photography and artwork to produce a book. As I thought I was better at sewing than I was at graphics, I chose the fashion pathway straight away. I didn’t enjoy this at all, and I actually hated designing and making the six garments for the collection. I wasn’t very confident with graphics back then and lacked imagination but I have improved since I’ve graduated as I’ve had to do it as part of my job. Anyway! Hope you like the looks I have put together! x

  1. This dress is gorgeous on you; love how it nips in at the waist and the print is lovely. Also love you with curls in the 'evening' look and enjoyed reading your recommendations for additions to the outfit, those wedges in particular are super cute.

  5. Beautiful dress I have noticed FU have some fantastic day to night 50's and floral dresses I am going to be getting quite I few I feel 🙂 Thanks for matching them up for a night and day look, great idea!

  6. Amazing dress! Love the colours and the fact you can dress it up or down is such a bonus.

If I curl my hair I do it a day after washing, then use Umberto Giannini hair spray which is usually pretty good to keep curls in 🙂

    Looking lovely as ever!

  7. I've missed reading your blog Sarah , I seem to get so busy that I never get to read my favourite blogs. Your latest outfits have become even more lush! I love how i'm not the only one whipping out the florals early and going for crazy pattern combinations. Please can I borrow your wardrobe ? I feel like I have to steal all your clothes! xx

  8. Sarah can I just say how much I adore you and your blog? Once again you look insanely gorgeous and I'm loving how you've put the outfit together

    xx

  9. Congrats! I think you look lovely. That dress is gorgeous and the colors really pop. As for curls staying, I find it helpful to coat my hair in hairspray before starting to curl it, also avoid touching the curls while they are hot! Those are basic tips a friend taught me, but they've worked pretty well!

  10. how about following each other? 🙂
follow me and I'll follow you back as soon as I find you in my follower list 🙂
and another thing: I really like the way you edit your photos, especially the one of your cat! which program do you use and what do you do with the photos exactly? 🙂
