How To Style: A Red Stripy Dress

I have worn this stripy dress in a few outfit posts before but I love it. It’s from Topshop, I bought this one in the sales and I have it in the blue stripe as well. I’ve accessorised with a black ribbon and a white peter pan collar top underneath.
I think I’ve finally found a space inside the house to take photos! It is a tiny space so quite restricting but going to see how it goes. Being indoors and not having enough light, I’ve had to use the flash on the camera which I really dislike as I am a fan of natural lighting and using the flash can give the photos a “harsh” artificial look. I hate getting bogged down by technical things like that. I’m just going to go with the flow this time!

Love your dress!! You don't look pregnant! You're right about flash. I hate it! I have to use flash on all of my pictures and they often look artificial lol. Good luck staying up for the Oscars! I find them to be dreadfully boring, aside from the red carpet.

Ooo this dress is cute! I have a navy stripe dress which I actually have the same 'looking pregnant' problems in, damn those stripes and high waist line! I only joined Hello Cotton the other day too, I then proceeded to spend the majority of the day browsing blogs πŸ˜› Off to check out asos fashion finder now!

I love this dress – anything slightly nautical-y is a winner for me. Was it the wedding fayre in London? Was supposed to help out there for work but didn't in the end. If your sister doesn't already, you should get her into wedding inspiration blogs – my favourite is ruffledblog.com!!

  12. 26th February 2012 / 3:56 pm

Lovely outfit! I love the two blouses from ASOS, especially the pleated red bow one! xo

  13. 26th February 2012 / 4:06 pm

I think the dress looks lovely on you! πŸ™‚ You can't beat stripes! Hope you had fun at the wedding fayre!

I have that dress as well in the blue stripe. I bought mine second hand from Ebay. Do you find that it seems really short? maybe the previous owner of mine shrunk it in the wash or something haha x x

  20. 26th February 2012 / 4:42 pm

Such a lovely dress, it really suits you! And you could never look pregnant! The collar is also lovely!

Such a cute dress, the collar definitely makes it. I could never get away with it though because I'm too curvy….the way it is cut with the high waistline just wouldn't work with my chest πŸ™
