Coat Topshop
Firstly, Happy New Year everyone! Hope you’re all wrapped up! The coat I am wearing in the photos above was one I bought a couple of months ago. Being so short, I find it difficult to find nice coats that don’t dwarf me. I love coats from Topshop as they seem to be the perfect fit, but they’re so expensive! This one is the right length. However, the sleeves are a tad too short! Awkward. The velvet necktie comes with the coat. I don’t think they stock it anymore but have seen a green one on the website.
I am thinking of ways to improve the blog, so let me know if there are anything that you’d like to see on the blog this year. Maybe I will try to feature more of my illustration work on the blog. I must’ve said that loads of times before! I have been meaning to start drawing again! If it isn’t for a project, I never feel the need to do it! Maybe that can be my new years resolution! I think there’s so much pressure for this year to be the best year yet. Does anyone feel that too? x

  1. Love your coat! I bought an amazing coat from Topshop a couple of weeks ago, but ended up returning it as the sleeves were just too short on me too.. so annoying!

Hope you're having a great New Year so far! x

  2. Your coat is gorgeous and i can think of no improvements for your blog, i always love to read it! Definitely feel like there is alot of pressure for this year but maybe thats a good thing and will help everyone make the most out of 2012! xxxx

  3. I totally know what you mean about wanting to make this year the best yet!! I want to maximise every aspect of my life, including my blog. Thanks for your last post – I really appreciate other people talking about MH issues as it makes me feel better about mine! 4. Gorgeous coat, I have the same problem with being short and things not fitting properly, so now I know exactly where to go next time I need a coat.. It's amazing that you've been so personal too.
I do feel the pressure to make 2012 amazing though – let's just hope it lives up to expectations, and that I don't let it down either.. xox

  5. Fab coat! The ribbon is so cute. And I love the lipstick. Where is that from? I would love to see some of your drawings in posts, and maybe the thinking behind some of your jewellery pieces would be cool. x

  6. Sarah, that coat is absolutely gorgeous! And I really enjoyed your last post. I really appreciate honesty in the blogging world and was really inspired by your courage.

  7. Such a lovely coat, really like the buttons and the necktie.

I'm just starting to get the hang of Tumblr and trying to generally become more involved and organised with all the different social media outlets!

  8. Happy New Year Sarah! Gorgeous coat.. I love the little velvet necktie 🙂 I agree there's a lot of pressure with new years resolutions, I think as long as you're doing what makes you happy that's what counts 🙂 Wishing you all the best for 2012! x

  9. Love your coat! I have a similar black & white one back in Minnesota. I unfortunately didn't ship any long coats to Japan with me so I am kind of bummed out. I've been SO tempted to purchase a new one but I'm holding out till I get my coats sent to me.

For now, I can just be envious of this one!!

    xo

  10. How cute!! The black velvet bow matches the glasses and the coat perfectly! The coat is also really pretty by the way =) Happy 2012 to you too!! I would love to see some of your illustration work! … 2012 is going to be a quite stressful year for me because I should finish my matura.. but if everything goes as planned I'm back in Japan next winter!! (or even autumn =)) がんばって~

  11. Your coat is so cute on you! The weather has been so ghastly the last few days, especially yesterday. Woke up and most of the garden was upturned! I would love to see your illustrations 🙂

  12. I love this coat! You look lovely 🙂 and yes the weather's been bloody horrible hasn't it. Almost makes it OK that I'm the the library for the whole week xx

  13. For some bizarre reason your previous post didnt update on my dashboard but I have just read it!! I am similar to you in that I over think everything… I guess that is one of the many downsides to having an anxiety disorder!!

I'm glad you are feeling better though and I am extremely jealous of how gorgeous you look in all your outfit pics! Pfft! Xx

  14. Such a lovely coat Sarah! And I totally agree about the pressure for this year to be 'the best yet', I feel it every year though, but this year seems more scary purely because of grad (for me!)! xx

  15. That coat is so cute. I always have trouble getting them to fit me properly too (I'm only 5ft2) and hate wearing coats because they always feel massive on me. This year I did the sensible thing and looked in the petite section. Ended up with a gorgeous fur collared coat that I absolutely love wearing. x

  16. I have the exact same coat and love it! I think the sleeves are meant to be 3/4 length on a normal person but they are perfect on me as im so petite lol! You look lovely! x

  17. I agree about the Topshop coats, they're so so expensive nowadays! I love H&M for coats, they last a really long time and are pretty cheap!

  18. I saw this coat in a mustard yellow with the ribbon and the ribbon is what attracted me too it, this one looks lovely on you Sarah! I love art but now I no longer do art in education I feel like I should be doing a project or something but I really want to get into it again 🙂

  19. Definitely, I think it's because I've been reading so many hopeful blog posts about 2012 I want to make my year as great as possible!
Your coat is rather cute, I always lust after topshop beauties but constantly end up with Primarks!

    xx

  20. Love this coat. I'm short too and find that so many coats just swamp me, even if they're in my size the arms and length are just too big and they tend to look a bit ridiculous!
I'm feeling the 2012 pressure too but the miserable weather isn't really helping matters. x

  21. I really really wanted to buy the green version of this coat, but like you said, so expensive for something that would only go with a certain type of outfit!

I feel more excited than pressurised for the new year, I'm happy to say 🙂

More Oscar pics soon pretty please! 😀

  22. I know exactly what you mean with finding coats the right length, I always have the same issue. I also haven't dug out my winter coat yet, it hasn't been cold enough, although this morning walking to uni I was freezing, so I'm going to have to find it this evening! This coat is really lovely, I love the style 🙂 Hope you had a lovely new years 🙂

  23. Beautiful coat 🙂 you should definitely feature more illustrations, I love seeing others work, it's very inspiring! Maybe there's so much pressure because it's 2012 'end of the world' haha xx

  24. I've just found your blog and done a ton of looking around; I really love your style! Everything you wear is totally something I'd wear, too! 🙂
I also love your Persian cat, Oscar!!! He is too cute for words! I have two dogs and a big fat black cat that often make appearances on my blog. I love people that include their cute pets. 🙂
Anywho, I adore the coat you're wearing and I look forward to getting to know you through the blog world. 🙂
I'm Roni, by the way. Greetings!

  25. Beautiful 🙂 Topshop coats are definitely the best this season, expensive but so wearable. In love with yours! I agree, I'm feeling the pressure to make this a good year and not waste it…I'm hopeful about it!

  26. Nice photos – love that last one! And the little neck bow on the coat is adorable.

I'm excited about this year. I graduate in May and then its off to do the things I've been waiting to! I have big hopes.

  27. I hope this is my best year yet!!! I really just want a new job ASAP. You needn't worry about your blog transitions. You can talk about anything you want and we'll still read! At least I will! If you want to talk about anxiety one day and then denim jackets the next, go right ahead 🙂

  28. You are so cute! I just love your coat, it looks very cute with the pattern and velvet bow. I suffer from the same problems as you, so it is difficult finding a nice one. I do suggest Gap, because they also have Petit sizes, and if you can find something on sale, it's great!

  29. one of my new year resolutions is to at least do one drawing a day. It's the 5th of Jan and i haven't even touched a pencil. 🙁 to be fair i have been away and have been quite busy so thats my excuse. Terrible I know I am the queen of excuses.

THIS YEAR WILL BE A GREAT YEAR! this is my daily mantra and to answer your question yes, I feel very pressured, very pressured.

Hope you are having a lovely day! xx

  30. This coat is divine Sarah! I love the colours and patterns of it, and the cute necktie completes it!
You shouldn't have been nervous about posting your last post on your blog, because at the end of the day it's your blog so you write what you want!
I hope you had a fantastic New Year! And looking forward to many more beautiful post's from you this year. xx

  31. Hi Sarah, I follow you on twitter and am impressed by your press coverage. May I ask, how do you do that? I don't think agencies do a great job, but do you do this yourself? Would love to have your tips! Happy New Year. Amber

  32. Hi! I just found your blog& I'm already in love! I adore your sense of fashion. New follower here. ^^ HNY!

  33. It's so lovely to see you back 🙂 It takes a lot of courage to write the previous post.. glad you are better now! And urgh yes the weather has been horrid, wind and rain constantly! Hope it improves for this weekend! xx

  34. Gorgeous coat as per. Definitely feeling the 2012 pressure, now I'm not at Uni I just want my life to really start and to get independent again, but there are so many outside factors. I guess I should just try to relax and see how things go.

  35. the coat is gorgeous, love the velvet necktie! there does seem to be a lot of pressure floating around 2012 – but maybe it's a good thing, onwards and upwards 🙂 x

  36. And Happy Happy New Year to you Sarah. I don't feel pressure to make 2012 the best year, but I do feel like I have a lot to achieve this year, and there are a few things that need to happen and I'm not quite sure how they will yet…

Looking beautiful as ever, I really like your coat. I'm bang on average height, so am quite lucky that finding a coat is quite easy for me. I live in a black military style one from H&M. I also haven't gon a day without wearing the scarf that Alex (Odd Socks and Pretty Frocks) made for me before Xmas. It's so freaking cold here.

I'm excited to see whatever you do in 2012, but one thing, I don't know if you use an application to post your blog posts or something, and I've seen this with one or two other blogs, that you sometimes have repeated words/parts of a sentence.

Sorry, total essay. Happy NEw Year.

  37. I love your coat and the cute detailing of the bow! I actually recently bought a coat like that but in a more wintery dark green tone and without the bow! i got it in G2000 during sale, was HK$990 but i got it for HK$395 this past weekend!! Yeah baby! U heard of G2000???

Yes, i'll definitely look you up on wehearit and tumblr, i'm a fan of both sites.I've been telling myself for the past year to set up an account with them but i've not done it,lol. So i know where you're coming from when it comes to delaying in certain things when it's not as offical (e.g. not a project!), hehe
