2 New Products From YSL Beauty For Spring 2017

YSL BEAUTY THE SHOCK COLLECTION

YSL Beauty recently launched their first ever make-up and fragrance co-launch, THE SHOCK which consists of a volumising mascara and a stunning perfume.

YSL BEAUTY THE SHOCK COLLECTION

YSL Black Opium Floral Shock

I am most excited about the perfume, a new edition of Black Opium that YSL Beauty have added another to their fragrance range. Black Opium Floral Shock* embodies the signature top note of coffee, the ‘shock’ of ice-cold espresso accord, combined with the softness of freesia, sharpness of bergamot, and the delicateness of sugary pear with a base note of golden gardenia accord and orange blossom absolute.

My go-to perfume for the past 3 months have been YSL Black Opium Christmas Collector’s Edition and I honestly haven’t gone through perfume as quick as I have with Black Opium, it’s such a great, unique, and addictive scent (that must be the coffee!). If you browse through the various editions of Black Opium, you will notice that a different type of coffee is used in each of the editions of them; including black coffee, green coffee, white coffee, and ice-cold espresso.

The coffee accord in Black Opium Floral Shock is softer and not as prominent, but it has a fresher scent which makes it a lovely perfume for Spring. And don’t worry, it doesn’t come in a miniature bottle as pictured, it’s available in the full 50ml bottle for £71.00.

YSL BEAUTY THE SHOCK MASCARA

YSL Beauty The Shock Mascara For False Lash Effect

If you’re in the market for new high end mascara, you can always count on YSL - consider YSL The Shock Mascara* as a dramatic, more sultry version of the well-loved Baby Doll. The Shock Mascara gives ‘shocking’ volume, so to speak, and it does volumise, lengthen and separate with an intense, black, creamy pigment.

The large bushy brush ("bushy brush" is the technical term, right?!...) coats each lashes with a couple of strokes, and there are minimal clumping too - but any clumps that happens to gather up upon application can be stroked out by going over your lashes with the (bushy) brush.

YSL The Shock Mascara (£23) gives you thick, extended, false-lash effect lashes without that spider leg look. The wide brush has a curved design and an innovative four inner reservoirs cuts to fill with the intense formula with each dip. I love a fuss-free mascara, you can apply it in the morning and not worry about it clumping or flaking off throughout the day.
