Firm Up With Nip+Fab

I swear it never used to be such hard work to ‘prep’ your bod for the Summer. All you had to do was shave your legs, exfoliate, moisturiser, put a bit of fake tan on and THERE, YOU’RE READY!

But these days, we’ve got to tone, lift, sculpt… that’s what I hear, anyway. Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise that I’ve not been on holiday for about 6 years, then. I don’t think you’ll catch me toning, lifting, or sculpting any time soon! I guess I’ve always just embraced the way that I am.

Nip+Fab - Cellulite Fix Body Sculpting Gel

When this product from Nip + Fab dropped into my life, I felt a combination of ‘ugh’ and ‘yay’! Ugghhhhh because it reminded me that I had cellulite but yaaaay because I could now try reduce the appearance of them.

To be honest, I don’t really look at my cellulite ever and that's why it doesn't bother me (ah, ignorance is bliss!). I know I have it and that it’s a perfectly natural thing. I mean, I'm worried enough as it is about grey hair and wrinkles, I don’t really want to add ‘cellulite’ on to my list of things to worry/obsess about. But I will deal with it when I have to...

... So it is really nice to know that if and when it becomes a concern (for example, when I'm wearing a bikini and I've got no where to hide!!) then I can continue to use Nip + Fab Body Cellulite Fix to help me out! I am all too aware that these types of products are only to assist us, it’s obviously not a magic potion in a tube every wishes it was. It's not going to tones you up overnight. Eating healthy, regular exercise, drinking enough water whilst using these beauty products will see the best results.

As we’re all moisturising as part of our daily routine, if the cream just so happens to reduces the appearance of cellulite by smoothing and firming the surface of the skin, then it is just an added bonus. We’re lucky, in a way, to have these products to help us improve the way our skin feels and in turn, making us feel more a bit more confident about our bodies.

Nip + Fab Bust Fix Night

Ok, let’s just have a little moment here. Little being the operative word. I have small boobs so if there was ever a tube of cream that ‘fixes’ my bust without surgery, then I’m game!

The pack describes this cream as a ‘super-charge night cream formula to plump the look of the bust and décolleté area’. After looking it up online, I found an article on it in which a lady claims that she went from 32C to 32D after using this for a month.

Nip + Fab Bust Fix Night is made with ingredients that actively adds volume and fullness to the cleavage.

I’ve been using the cream and can confirm that it does indeed firm the area but I don’t think I’ll be going up one cup size any time soon. The plumping and firming effect lasts for a short amount of time or until you stop using the cream which contains caffeine to improve the texture of skin.

Nip+Fab and their sister company, Rodial, are both great brands for helping you target problem areas. Nip + Fab is the more affordable brand and if you're interested in trying it, you can check it out at Boots.

New Spring Make-Up From bareMinerals

I don’t actually like wearing make-up and try to get away with as little as possible. When it’s sunnier, warmer, and brighter, I turn to bareMinerals for all of my make-up needs due to it's weightless and comfort on skin.

New Make-Up For Spring From bareMinerals

Due to how light and comfortable their make-up is on my skin, that makes bareMinerals my to total go-to for this time of year.

One of my favourite base is their Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream which you can read about here. And their Well-Rested Face And Eye Brightener give skin a really healthy looking glow! But enough about my old favourites, let’s talk about the new products!

New Make-Up For Spring From bareMinerals

£22.00
There’s a lot of mattifying gel primers flying around at the moment, most recently the one from Benefit, and now this lovely Blemish Remedy Mattifying Prep Gel from bareMinerals. What did I even do before I discovered primer?! How did I ever live without it?

This gel formula primes your skin, absorbs oils and reduces shine. It is indeed lightweight (yay to that!), non-sticky, dries immediately and has a matte finish for a smoother make-up application. The key ingredients are Aspen Bark and Tea Tree Oil which helps to keep the blemishes away!

£22.00
I have been after a good concealer for a while. I want to start dabbing concealer on areas of concern rather than using BB Cream and foundation all over my face. But for that, I will need a concealer with a decent coverage and one that will last throughout the day.

This concealer from bareMinerals ticks those boxes. In this concealer, bareMinerals have used their newest innovation in serum technology featuring light-diffusing ingredient for a luminous coverage. It conceals dark circles, discolouration, blemishes and any other imperfections.

It’s quite a thick but smooth texture that blends in well. It’s not cakey or dry - but I might have to buy the next darker shade as the ‘Light’ is too pale for me.

bareminerals lash domination eye make up

Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara Petite Precision Brush*
£19.00
These days, mascaras seem to be all about the big, fancy brushes - but to be honest, those big ones scare me! I have short lashes so I’ve always gone for smaller mascara brushes and this new one from bareMinerals is exactly that! It even says so in the product title.

The spiel is that the wand is fanned out to 360º like a propellor to get in to the lashes from all angles. The 10-in-1 benefits of this mascara are (deep breath!): Volumizes, lengthens, thickens, seperates, lifts, last all day, mineral fortified, smudge-proof, clump resistant, and does not flake.

Lash Domination Ink Liner*
£19.00
This arrived at the perfect time as I have ran out of my favourite eyeliner and I am looking for a new one to try! It's pigmented, has good lasting power and is water resistant. It is inky and is quite wet on the brush and on skin, so it doesn't dry as quick as I'd like but... patience is a virtue!!

The brush is like a felt tip and has a thin shape which allows you to build the shape of your cat eye flick, starting from thin to thick. I love it, I just hope it doesn't dry up as quickly as some of the other liquid felt tip eyeliner pens I've used!

bareMinerals is available from Boots, House Of Fraser, or directly from their own website.

Haircare Products To Try For Dull, Lacklustre Hair

I’ve realised that using the correct shampoo for your hair type and hair concern is actually really important, so I’ve been I’ve been obsessed with trying different haircare brands lately!

Haircare Products To Try For Dull, Lacklustre Hair

With an increase use of heat appliances, my hair certainly has now turned weak, damaged and brittle. And using the wrong haircare for so many years probably didn’t help either! I don’t remember the last time I was happy with the condition of my hair but hopefully it’s on it’s way for shine and health!

Here are some brands that I’ve been using:

Bee Good Lip Balms - Inspired By Beauty Bloggers

I don’t know about you but I’ve got a stash of lip balms. I store at least 3 in my handbag and 2 in each coat pocket!!

To explain why I have accumulated a large (let’s say medium sized) collection of lip balms is because I am very picky about the quality of them and how it makes my lips feel. A lot of them contain ingredients that just masks the problems instead of nourishing. Some, such as Vaseline, makes my lips feel even dryer. Not good.

Bee Good Lip Balms - Inspired By Beauty Bloggers

There was a competition last year where beauty bloggers could submit their unique lip balm flavours to Bee Good and be part of the whole process. The plan was to launch the new lip balm in Waitrose, and in September 2015, that is exactly what happened.

The winning scent was Raspberry and White Chocolate by YouTuber, Joseph Harwood. With fruity notes of wild raspberries and sweet hints of white chocolate, the lip balm also contains carefully selected ingredients such as British wild flower honey, British beeswax, British crambe and borage oils, British echium oil and natural source vitamin E.

Dandelion Shy Beam | Benefit's Matte Liquid Highlighter

When you think of a cosmetic highlighter, the words that come to mind would usually be shimmery, shine, and glow. Am I right?! Well, Benefit Cosmetics have recently launched Dandelion Shy Beam*, a MATTE liquid highlighter. So how does a matte liquid highlighter work to give you that same radiance as say, High Beam?!

Benefit's Dandelion Shy Beam

Benefit's Dandelion Shy Beam | A Matte Liquid Highlighter

Dandelion Shy Beam made it’s first appearance in Benefit’s Operation Pore-Proof beauty kit back in May last year but you can now purchase it on it’s own and in full size.

Benefit created Dandelion Shy Beam with those with oily skin in mind as not everyone is suited all that shimmer and shine. If the glow is a concern, you should try this new offering from Benefit. No glow whatsoever!

5 Make-Up Products To Try This Spring

The transition from a long Winter to Spring calls for a change in my make-up routine.

Whilst I am not quite ready to go for a minimal look (I’ll save that for the Summer), Spring calls for a change in to lighter formulations, a luminous look, and swapping the berry tones to flirty pinks so I can look (and feel) as fresh as can be!

Here are some of my make-up recommendations:

Shay & Blue English Cherry Blossom Perfume

My collection of Spring perfumes are coming along nicely! If I don’t feel like it’s Spring (rain and hailstones? Sort it out, April!) then at least I can smell like it!

Shay & Blue is a fragrance brand that I’ve been hearing a lot about and only the other week, my Mum and I were spraying every single one in the beauty department to find which one we like the best! They use real flowers, fruits and spice to create their fragrances

Shay & Blue English Cherry Blossom Perfume

There’s the unusual scent of Salt Caramel which was fragrance that first drew my attention to Shay & Blue, but I particularly love the fruity ones like Watermelon, Blood Orange, and Sicilian Lime. They all smell so delicious!

They have recently launched English Cherry Blossom for Spring. Some of you may be sick to death of seeing Instagram posts of cherry blossom trees but where I live, I haven’t seen a single one blossom yet! It’s still so grim up north - the trees are dead and bare. Ugh.

Shay & Blue English Cherry Blossom Perfume

So for now, I’ll just have to make-do with this Shay & Blue English Cherry Blossom perfume! It’s a sweet, uplifting, and delicate scent with the following fragrance notes:

Top note: Bergamot and green mandarin.
Heart note: Fig, cassis, honeysuckle and black cherries.
Base note: Iris and woods.

Shay & Blue English Cherry Blossom Perfume

The perfume doesn’t last on skin very long - but I definitely don’t mind spraying this two or three times a day! Each perfume comes in a gorgeous blue box tied with a striped bow. So pretty! If you want something a little different, I would recommend checking out Shay & Blue.

They comes in 30ml (£30) or 100ml (£50). Candles are also available too. You can find them at John Lewis or the bigger branches of M&S.

Benefit's Cheekathon | My New Favourite Blusher Palette

Usually, make-up palettes are not for me but Benefit Cosmetics have come up with a right corker! I know that my blog has been filled with Benefit after Benefit but they have launched so many exciting products lately, each as good as the last!

Benefit's Cheekathon blusher palette

Benefit's Cheekathon Blusher Palette

Benefit's Cheekathon* is a new blusher palette that features 5 full size powders and a small brush. I really love Benefit blusher powders but have only ever tried Dandelion, Sugarbomb and Hoola. I keep repurchasing the same ones over and over again - I am only my 4th Sugarbomb at the moment - but I'm glad to be venturing out of my blusher comfort zone with this awesome palette.

Price's Candles

Price’s Candles have been around since 1830 which makes them one of the oldest candle manufacture around! It’s a brand that I’ve come across every now and then but not one that I see very often.

I have been told that the Royal family are a fan with Price’s supplying candles for the wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. As a Royal Warrant Holder, they supply candles for all other Royal state occasions such as coronations.

Well, if it’s good enough for the Royals, it’s certainly good enough for me!

Price's Candles, sweet pear candle

These days, however, I do opt for candles made of soy wax and these candles are actually made of a blend of paraffin and vegetable wax, but what I think is attractive about Price’s Candles - and I’m sure you will agree - is the prices of their candles (well, doesn’t sound rather poetic!).

No, but seriously, the large jar candles are only £18! That’s £3.99 cheaper than Yankee Candle. And I know everyone is going to compare it to Yankee due to the similarity on it's appearance.

FACE The Day With Balance Me

FACE The Day With Balance Me

My Instagram is filled with photos of unhealthy treats lately and I feel like people are starting to judge! I do eat healthily, but pretty cakes and sweet treats are always nicer to photograph, right?! (#socialmediaproblems).

When this box of healthy treats arrived from Balance Me, it was just what I needed to get back into the health kick! After all, you are what you eat - and yummy snacks doesn’t have to be unhealthy, as Balance Me has shown me! I’ve also stocked up on healthy stuff from Holland & Barratts and I’ve enjoyed snacking without feeling guilty!

Inside the box that Balance Me sent me was also two new skincare from Balance Me to prepare us to #FACEtheday. Mornings are totally not my thing so I need all the help I can get!

Benefit Launch 3 New Hoola Products

I have had these photos of Benefit’s new Hoola releases saved in drafts for a couple of weeks now and I haven’t had the motivation to write this up. Not because the products aren’t great because they are… but the weather has been such a downer (at the time of writing this) that I haven’t been in the mindset or mood to write about tanning products.

Benefit Launch 3 New Hoola Products

Honestly, right now, I can’t bear to think about baring skin and showing off a faux tan when it’s still this cold. As I am writing this, I’m wrapped up in a white fluffy fleece and look more like a sheep that belongs in the Yorkshire Dales rather than a tanned human being sipping cocktails in Barbados.

Mini ASOS Haul

I haven’t bought new clothes in ages in months. I don’t know if it’s because I’m in my 30’s now and my taste has changed (I am going through some sort of style crisis!) but it is becoming increasingly difficult to find clothes that I like. On the other hand, I have saved myself A LOT of money by not buying new clothes every month!

My go-to shop used to be Topshop because their petite range suited my short stumpy self so perfectly but there is no way I can afford to buy from Topshop just for fun anymore! ASOS has become my new Topshop and shopping on ASOS is wayyyy too much fun.

This would've been a regular haul (as in non-mini) because I bought more clothes than what I've shown, but had to return half of it didn't fit me properly (why do I never look as good as the model on the website, dammit!!)

 Mini ASOS Haul

My wardrobe is lacking in colour lately but I’m quite happy to be in black and white these days. You can see from my old outfit posts that I used to LOVE wearing bright colours and bold prints but I just don’t feel like I can pull that off anymore.

In the past couple of years, I have felt that I needed to grow up and dress like an adult (whatever THAT may be… I am still trying to figure that out, to be honest!) but right now, gone are the days of wearing bright or pastel colours because it makes me feel a little childish. Maybe I just need to get over that mindset but for now, the craziest I’ll go are stripes and polka dots! And cute cactus motifs….

Birchbox April 2016 | A Collaboration With Rifle Paper Co

Another beauty box suscription blogpost, but I guess it's that time of month when beauty boxes are being dispatched to subscribers!

I just had to show you how beautiful April's Birchbox is! As a stationery fan, this edition of Birchbox pleases me so!

Birchbox April 2016 | A Collaboration With Rifle Paper Co

Birchbox have teamed up with Rifle Paper Co. this month - a stationery brand that's a favourite amongst bloggers alike. If you've never heard of Rifle Paper Co., I would recommend giving them a bit of a search on Google. If you're partial to pretty prints and gorgeous typography, you will fall head over heels for Rifle Paper Co. You'll fall hard. Like, instantly.

birchbox april 2016, birchbox and rifle paper co

The only thing I am really sad about is that the regular subscription box doesn't include any stationery as one of it's sample, not even the cute little postcards that are often enclosed in Birchbox.

But there is an option to pay £4 extra for Birchbox Plus which contains a stunning notebook duo (worth a retail value of £8). All subscribers receives a unique discount code for Rifle Paper Co. which I will be taking full advantage of!

An Off-Duty Look On A Budget

creating an off duty look, budget fashion, uk fashion blogger

Oh hey! Is this actually an outfit post we're seeing on my blog?! Why of course it is! Long time, no see! I mean, the last style post was in November, so it has been quite a while, hasn't it? I just haven't been able to get back in to style blogging because I've been in a style rut!

But I'm back with an outfit post today. And I don't know when the next one will be, so I hope you enjoy this one :-)

creating an off duty look, fashion blogger, fashion on a budget

Create An Off-Duty Look On A Budget

In an ideal world, when you get pick a Spring outfit from a brand, the weather would be actually be Spring. Bright, sunny, maybe the air is still a little crisp... and I'll take that as long as there's plenty of pretty cherry blossom, hues of rich greens and yellows.

But nope! We ain't go none of those thing! Nada! It's England, so you get overcast, many (MANY) shades of grey, a bit of rain and wind, and a backdrop of brown lifeless leaves that are dead as a doornail! That's the reality of fashion blogging. The weather is always against us. I guess the north east hasn't got the memo about Spring yet. HELLO, NORTH EAST. Wake up. GIVE US SOME SUN.

An Off-Duty Look On A Budget

So a couple of weeks ago, George At Asda challenged me to create an off-duty look for £35. I do have some difficulties in finding clothes from supermarket brands to fit me properly (height-wise!) but with some styling skillzzz, I can sometimes find quite an outfit that I will wear time and time again!

how to wear printed trousers

As I've produced some content for George At Asda, I won't go in to too much detail on this blogpost. You can find the full post at the George Life & Style Hub! But basically, I was given a budget of £35 to pick 3 key items that would make an off-duty look. I managed it with £4 left over!

Everyone's idea of an off-duty looks varies to one another but for me, it means comfortable and non-restricting. For this outfit, I really wanted a pair of loose-fitted printed trousers* and there are many to choose from at George right now. I don't really know how else to wear printed trousers other than a plain, fitted white t-shirt. There's no need to over complicate things if a plain t-shirt goes so well!

white handbag

The supermarket brands do some great accessory designs, in particular the handbags! I love how this white handbag* complemented the outfit perfectly, as it gave it more of a grown up look. It smartened the outfit up a lot!

Head over to the George Life and Style website to read the post I created for them. Hopefully you will be able to find some trendy style inspiration for fashion on a budget!

Banish Oil And Minimise Appearance Of Pores | Benefit POREfessional Matte Rescue

I have been featuring Benefit Cosmetics a lot on my blog lately, haven’t I? I’ve got more Benefit make-up than any other brand (obsessed? me? no…) and as they have launched a lot of new and exciting beauty products recently, I am currently working my way through the collection!

Benefit POREfessional Matte Rescue

Banish Oil And Minimise Appearance Of Pores | Benefit POREfessional Matte Rescue

Benefit’s POREfessional range is so popular that they keep adding more to the family! No complains from me, the more the better!

They have brought out a new cosmetic product, the POREfessional: Matte Rescue* which is an invisible-finish mattifying gel. It does two things which are to minimise the appearance of pores and absorbs excess oil.

Fancy A Candle? Make Mine A Gin & Tonic!

I never knew until recently how popular gin is. Has gin made a comeback? Has gin and tonic always been a trendy drink?! I don’t know! Either way, Kiss Air has created a drink-scented candle that I predict is going to be a big hit!
