With it’s quirky packaging design, everyone wants to know all about Benefit’s newest Porefessional product. This is one of two Porefessional beauty products the Benefit has launched, the other is a primer which I will feature on my blog very soon.
Today’s blogpost is dedicated to Benefit’s Porefessional Instant Wipeout Masks*. Whilst I LOVE Benefit’s cosmetics range, I rarely try their skincare. Come to think of it, I think I have only ever tried their It’s Potent Eye Cream and a small sample of Dream Screen SPF.
Anyway - the Instant Wipeout Masks come in the typically CUTE packaging, a la Benefit! Of course, of course! The box contains 8 dual sided masks. They’re not like the typical sheet masks that covers your whole entire face.
These masks that Benefit have released are for areas in which large pores are an issue, so this could be your nose, forehead or chin - wherever you have problematic pores. For me, it's my nose area so that’s where I’ve been using the Instant Wipeout Masks.
How To Use
This is quite a fun skincare to use. You press the ‘emergency button’ plastic bubble to release the liquid which then saturates the sheet. I suppose this means the serum soaked sheets are fresh as can be when you peel open the packet.
Using the smooth side first, you place the mask onto the problem area for ten minutes. You’ll feel the minty, menthol tingly sensation almost straight away - it kind of made my eyes water a bit! I was worried that it was an allergic reaction at first but I have been told that the tingle is normal and could possibly be from the tea tree in the serum formula. If you have sensitive skin, I would use with caution or maybe avoid them altogether, just incase.
It also contains a secret ingredient of mushroom extract which has anti-bacterial and cleansing properties. This helps to extract dirt and impurities from the pores.
After ten minutes, you take the mask off and use the other side (which has a slightly rougher finer) to lightly exfoliate.
Did It Work?
The tingly sensation made it feel like my pores had tightened and they appeared smaller, like they had shrunk. The area of my skin which I used the mask on felt smooth and refreshed - even when my teenage sister used it, she noticed how smooth her nose felt!
However, I expected the wipes to extract and get rid of blackheads too (and that is what they said it would do on QVC too) but sadly, it didn’t - perhaps it will in time? The box contains 8 masks and you are suggested to use them twice a week for best results but that seems excessive since there are only 8 packets in the box and at £24.50, they’re not exactly cheap. So, I’m going to use them once a week to make the whole box last 2 months in total.
