Winter Skin And Hair Saviour from Palmer's

Is there any scent in the world other than coconut that makes you crave for the warmth of Summer? I know we’re in the deep of Winter right now but I’ve been using this range of Palmers for a month and it’s making me wish for warmer weather! But… being in the UK, I’m forever wishing for warmer weather!

palmers coconut oil formula

To keep my skin from being battered by the cold wintery weather, I’ve been slathering on a lot of Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula products! Coconut Oil is the ingredient that's causing a buzz in the beauty industry at the moment.

Just like how a lot of new beauty launches from the last couple of years has contained Hyaluronic Acid, this year has been all about the coconut oil! It's just in everything at the moment!

New From The Body Shop: Frosted Plum

As I’ve been praising The Body Shop for the past 12 months, I’ve been excited to see what they’ve got to offer this Christmas. I loved their Christmas range last year, especially the bath jellies, so I have been eagerly anticipating what goodies they’ve got for us this year.

I think that The Body Shop Christmas range is always a lot of fun, and there’s no doubt that it smells GREAT. I’m delighted to see the return of both Frosted Cranberry and Glazed Apple - they were my faves last year! But this year see’s a new arrival… Frosted Plum! Purple is my favourite colour so I am immediately drawn to this new scent which is plum extract from Turkey, along with peony and magnolia to give it a floral twist.

Frosted Plum is part of the limited edition 2015 festive collection (stock up before it’s gone!) and there is a whole range of body stuff to pick from including this trio:

My Beauty Advent Calendar Of Choice This Year

Beauty advent calendar

If you’re a beauty fan, you will know that the most desirable advent calendars are the ones stuffed with 24-25 beauty miniatures! You get some extremely lavish and expensive ones that cost up to £100-£150 which is nice if you can afford it! But there are so many choices now, most beauty brands are jumping on the trend and creating their own advent calendar. And that’s a bit of alright, innit? Whatever the price range, there is one to suit everyone.

BLACK FRIDAY: My Bargain Beauty Top Picks

beauty black friday deals

1. O.P.I Nail Polish // 2. W7 Brow Parlour // 3. W7 Aye Captain // 4. W7 In The Night Up In Smoke Palette // 5. W7 Africa Bronzing Powder // 6. W7 Hollywood Bronze & Glow // 7. Max Factor False Lash Effect // 8. W7 Show Stopper Mascara

Black Friday + beauty products = FRI-YAY! I don’t part with money that easily so I do enjoy the fact that Black Friday deals has trickled in to the UK. But the deal has to be like, ridiculously REALLY GOOD*, for me to get out there and hustle amongst everyone. (*When TV’s are going for £1, then we can talk!).

Thankfully, I'm getting my beauty hit from Just My Look and I've got my eyes on a few bargains! But I've got Christmas shopping on the mind, so I guess I should use this chance to start buying presents for people, so when Just My Look - a one-stop shop for budget beauty - asked me to put a wish list together, I took the opportunity to browse for some presents to buy my sisters. At least this will get me well prepared on the morning of Black Friday, and hopefully, by the time you’ve finished reading this post, I will have ordered the first lot of my Christmas shopping!

The Black Friday deals on Just My Look includes 3 For 2 on all O.P.I nail polishes. I love these nail polishes so much and they are really pigmented, but I can never afford to buy them at the usual full price, so YAY for the sale! They make a great present for someone because everyone knows that O.P.I are premium and a fantastic quality nail polish.

I haven’t got round to trying anything from W7 Cosmetics yet but now it a good time, right?! It is 3 For 2, after all! I’ve read a lot of good things about their products on beauty blogs. It’s got the vibe of Benefit and Too Faced, which are two of my favourite beauty brands so that’s a good start! I’m loving the look of the Brow Parlour, Aye Captain Liquid Eyeliner, In The Night Up In Smoke Eye Colour Palette, Africa Bronzing, Show Stopper Mascara, and Hollywood Bronze & Glow. Prices start from £1.99 - not bad at all!

You might also be interested to know that Max Factor’s False Lash Effect will be £5.95 tomorrow instead of £10.99, so it's time to stock up!

And if that’s not enough, they’re giving away a FREE Corioliss GoGo Mini Styler when you spend £25 or over, an exclusive offer for blog readers! It's a cute travel sized hair straightener which will surely come in handy for every single occasion. To get the free styler, all you have to do is enter the code BBLOGGER25 at checkout. This code cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer codes.

Let me know if you've managed to get a good BLACK FRIDAY deal on beauty products this year! I sense a wave of beauty haul making it's way to my blogger dashboard and I couldn't be more excited to read every single one of them!

New Beauty Products Available In Boots!

Boots is a very overwhelming place to shop in, isn’t it? It’s funny how it’s not particularly my favourite shop and I don’t really enjoy the journey as a customer yet every time I go in, I will come out with more than what I wanted! What is the deal with that! And now I’ve got a Boots staff discount, there’s more reason to hang around a little bit longer and buy even more beauty products I don’t really need. Story of my life.

I recently learnt that in 200 of the large Boots stores, they have a stand called Beauty Finds where the new launches are displayed. If you pop in and visit this display, you'll see some of these new arrivals* store:

CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE: Cute Stocking Fillers

At around this time every year, I browse through Rex London for Christmas stocking fillers and Secret Santa presents. I should be buying things for other people but I couldn’t resist treating myself to a few things. I was given a £30 gift voucher* and I wanted to make that £30 stretch as far as it could. A lot of this is from the sale!

christmas stocking fillers

As a regular customer of Rex London, I knew that I would be able to get a lot for that budget. I know it’s a bit naughty to buy myself presents for no particular reason but no one else is going to make me a Christmas stocking so I got to make my own, guys! And why not! Why the hell not, hey! Let’s just call this a practise run for when I’m shopping for stocking fillers for real.... Here is what I bought:

Fashion On A Budget?

Thursday, 19 November 2015

Christmas is a really tough time of year for most people. It comes round really quickly and there is so much to do! What is meant to be a joyous and exciting occasion is actually really quite stressful. And the older I am, the more I feel this stress. I can’t pinpoint what it is but it’s a mixture of being unprepared, not knowing what to buy people, being overwhelmed, and skint! That’s totes not fun, is it? BAH, HUMBUG!

But seriously, no matter how prepared I am, I always seem to get rushed of my feet right up until Christmas! And it’s going to be no different this year, because like a lot of people, I am working right up until Christmas Eve. Argh, where am I going to find the time to do everything? I’ll get there, though… I always do.

But no matter how busy you are, it’s still important to find the time to relax and de-stress. Find the time to do something you enjoy, even if it’s a couple of hours a week. Here are some ways to help you feel more relaxed and feel more ‘you’ during the run up to Christmas:

What's Inside Birchbox x Skinnydip | November 2015 Edition

Woohoo! Along with the other Birchbox* subscribers, I’m officially in the Birchbox #SQUAD! As I attended their launch event at the Skinnydip Boutique, I got a feel for their latest collaboration. I have probably said this about every Birchbox this year… but HOW AMAZING IS THIS COLLABORATION? It as got to be the coolest beauty box EVER.

Birchbox x Skinnydip, BIRCHBOX NOVEMBER 2015

I really like the contents, but being slightly obsessed with pretty packaging, I would have bought this box just for the CUTE box design. There are two colours available this month, the purple one which you can see in yesterday’s event feature, or the pastel coloured one which I think is the one I prefer.

Inside November’s Birchbox are 6 beauty samples. These are:

Event: Birchbox x Skinnydip, Carnaby St.

Event: Birchbox x Skinnydip, Carnaby St.

One of my favourite beauty brands this year has been Birchbox, they have become to ahead of the game and you can never predict what they’re going to come up with next. It’s remarkable how they’ve managed to keep things interesting and exciting in a very saturated market.

I’ve had the chance to meet some of the Birchbox team a few months ago, so it was nice to see them again at their latest event.

They have teamed up with Skinnydip London for their latest box. A match made in heaven, some might say! I’d never have thought a beauty brand like Birchbox would team up with a brand like Skinnydip, but I’m totally glad they have joined forces.

Heart FM Beauty Essentials

There are A LOT of beauty sample boxes out there, and as a beauty blogger, I’ve tried my fair share of them. There’s always a new one cropping up and with such fierce competition, they have to be extremely different to get my attention because I’m only going to recommend the the good ones to my lovely blog readers (YAY! THAT’S YOU!).

I’m not familiar with Latest In Beauty, but I am aware that they work with Jane from British Beauty Blog - so that’s a good enough reason to try out one of the recent boxes, The Heart FM edition. I didn’t fully understand that concept of the partnership at first but it is a unique collaboration and I’m all up for any one who tries to stand out from the crowd.

Heart FM Beauty Essentials

I expected it to be like all the other beauty boxes I’ve tested, but when the parcel arrived, I was really surprised at how heavy a beauty box could be. It was jam-packed with products and there was no room for anything to rattle around.

If you’re feeling a bit fed up and disappointed of receiving a box that feels half empty, Latest In Beauty boxes might just be right up your street. For £17.99, you get all of this in The Heart Beauty edition:

Beauty Event: The Avon Beauty Bus

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to pop by Avon’s latest event which showcased some of their Christmas and S/S16 range. And when they told me that it would be a bus, I was really intrigued and couldn’t wait to find out more.

How To Style A Camel Coat This Winter

fashion blogger, how to style a beige camel coat
This blogpost is sponsored by ShopStyle & GAP UK. However, all words, opinions, styling and photography are completely my own.

What I'm Wearing:

I have always loved Gap and when I was younger, I thought it was simply the COOLEST brand ever. I was so obsessed with Gap hoodies (anyone else?) - it was one of the absolute MUST-HAVE item of the 90's and I had one in all of my favourite colours! All the cool girls at school had a Gap hoody. It has been a while since I bought anything from their store but I’ve recently been reacquainted with this well-loved global brand once again and I got reminded as to why I adored them so much.

The BEST Christmas Candles!

This year, the run up to Christmas is going to be very different for me. Maybe I’ll decorate my room with some twinkly fairy lights (unlikely) but there definitely won’t be a space for a Christmas tree with perfect wrapped gifts underneath it. *Major sad face*. But as always, candles come to the rescue and I’ll be able to at least make my room smell like Christmas! I am clutching at straws but it’s better than nothing!

christmas candles

I’ve been burning candles a lot lately, I haven’t got a bedside lamp to I use a couple of candles to illuminate my room at night. It’s nice and cosy, and makes me happy! (It’s the small things in life, right?!). Kiss Air is one of my favourite candle brand and I always look forward to seeing what they’ve got in store. The new range is Christmas inspired (obv!) and the five seasonal scents are Christmas Tree, Chocolate Orange, Cranberry & Orange, Mulberry Spice and Gingerbread.
