What I Love About Autumn | Tag

autumn leaves, british autumn

I never used to like Autumn. I was always a Summer girl!

To me, Summer signified freedom (from school!) and it was a time where we could create holiday memories with friends and family. Since being out of education (years ago) and entering into "the real world", Summer has lost it's sparkle and now it's nothing but a disappointment!

After spending a lot of time taking outdoor photographs last year, I became more observant of my surroundings and I finally noticed how beautiful Autumn is and it is now my favourite season!

With that in mind, I decided to do my very first tag as tagged by Melissa from Virgin Mojitos Blog. I'm not going to tag anyone in particular but I welcome anyone who loves this time of year to answer these questions too!

What's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?
I love it when Starbucks bring in their seasonal flavours and at the moment, I'm loving their Pumpkin Spice Latte even though I've never eaten real pumpkin before, I don't know what it tastes like! I'm always up for trying any kind of coffee flavours, I'm quite adventurous when it comes to drinks so the funkier, the better!

What accessories do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?
All of them! I can't stand the cold, I'm really feeble so I need all the wooly accessories in the world! If I had to pick one, I would choose scarf - I end up getting really attached to it! But on the other hand, I have recently bought a pair of boots and I have worn them almost every day, so I don't know... I'm being really indecisive here! I'll be greedy and pick two, so boots and scarf... Would that make it a 'barf'? Or a 'scoot'?..

What's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
I don't tend to match music with the season or mood, I'll just listen to whatever is on my playlist.

What's your favourite perfume for this time of year?
At the moment, I am LOVING My Burberry perfume, I think the bottle design with the turquoise shell lid is so perfect for Autumn!

What candle scents will you be burning this season?
I have a few that I've been saving to burn at this time of year! I've got some of the Indian Summer candles from Yankee Candles including Wild Fig and Amber Moon, both are rich and warm in fragrance.

What do you love most about Autumn?
The colour of the leaves on the trees before they fall to the ground. It is so nice to look out of the window and see those earthy colours. It also makes a stunning backdrop for outfit photos (always got bloggin' on my mind!)

Favourite make up look?
I don't go for a particular look for Autumn, I'm not someone who suits bronze, browns or gold colours so I just stick to my usual shades although I like to experiment with darker lipsticks and a cooler pink blushers. I love MAC's Plumful and Benefit's Lollitint.

What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
I am just going to enjoy this season and take it all in. I want to take more photographs of nature and the things around us. It's always the calm before the storm (the storm being Christmas! The most chaotic time of the year!)

  1. Lovely answer, I too was like you, always a summer person but recently turning more into a A/W person. The idea of layering, warm scents, fire burning etc is all being more appealing to me.

  2. I'm a fall lover too! I never have been too big on summer just because I don't like hot weather, but it was nice to get out of school for 3 months!

I don't go to Starbucks, but I do like Pumpkin Spice cappuccino and coffee, and I think my fall staple would have to be boots, with scarves coming in a close second. I wear a lot of skirts, so it is essential for me to have boots that at least cover most of my legs.

  3. Love the shoes! where did you get them? I'm a sucker for yankee candles, or any candles really, but I try not to have too many different scents burning at the same time, it kinda gets a bit too smelly

I think my favourite thing about the season is having warm hearty meals in the evening after you've been out in the cold all day, I love things like casseroles and cottage pie :)

  12. It's all about the orange leaves and beautiful photos! The Starbucks lattes are all pretty over sweet though, you seriously have to try a real pumpkin! They're like a cross between carrots and sweet potato and great for baking with <3
