Snapshot

To round up the past 12 months in blogging, here are few favourite outfits from earlier on in the year.  I don't know how to describe my style, it isn't anything special or unique at all! I'm not as passionate about fashion as some people but I love clothes and always have done.

By definition, "snapshot" is a word to describe a brief or quick summary of something. Weather this is in writing or photography, a snap shot of something is enough to get an overall idea across without divulging too much and I feel that this is what blogs are, or at least that is how I would describe my blog; It's a snapshot of me. I don't share as much as some but I will somehow learn to open up to people more.

In general, 2012 has been an odd year, I had too many expectations for it to be "the best year yet". I even remember writing those very words this time last year! I have enjoyed blogging and getting to know you all. It is great to have met so many people through it too. Last year, I had plans write more regularly and do lots of other things but I just haven't managed it and I am a bit disappointed myself in that! This year, I started beauty posts as I got more and more in to make-up products (I used to stick to certain products and would never try new cosmetics) and this is something I aim to continue in 2013. That, and lifestyle posts.

I don't have a New Year's Resolution. Maybe I'd like to take more photos and capture more of what I've done and places I have visited, and then maybe get those photos printed so that I don't lose them when my computer/hard-drive/memory card fails on me! Hope you are all well, enjoy New Years Eve and Happy New Year, everyone! x

Cuddles for Oscar

For the past few weeks, I have forgotten to do Monday Cat Face so here's lots of photos of Oscar for you to enjoy! He's been getting lots of love and cuddles lately, sleeping in our rooms and basically eating lots of treats. We love him so so much, he gets so spoilt. My sister and dad always makes little toys for him to play with, but he usually likes plastic bags from the supermarket, or anything that crinkles! He loves watching tv with us and as you can see from one of the photos (bottom left hand corner), he's even been hanging out with my little sister whilst she was watching Doctor Who! Such a cutie!

Boxing Day

Something a little different from Christmas Day's feast! It seems like a Chinese tradition to have hotpot on Boxing Day! It seems quite popular anyway and I don't know why this is...I guess it's because it's easy to do and especially handy when you have invited lots of people over at the house. After the choas of preparing and making Christmas dinner the day before, a hotpot is a fairly quick and easy way to eat on Boxing Day. I can't say that hot pot excites me, but it is quite a fun way to eat and it's sociable to have everyone around at the table making their own dinner!

There's no set rule as to what to have at a hot pot but it usually involves meat and lots of it. We get some food from the Chinese supermarket, but most of the food will come from good old reliable Tesco!  The food is put around the table and you put whatever you want to eat into the little baskets and it goes in the hotpot centrepiece! I had noodles and tofu with spring onions and shallots. The food is sometimes set up really nicely like this but ours was just put on platters like any old how. My grandma bought over some Snowball and Babycham, which felt very nostalgic. She'd give us a bottle of Snowball when we visited her during the festive season (so cute!). The evening was finished off with Rekorderlig cider and more chocolate! Yummy!

Photos from Christmas Day

table setting on christmas day

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! I love Christmas and I'm sad it's over now, but there's New Year to look forward to! We had a quiet one this year. Mum decided to let me and my sister's cook dinner and gave us all a task to do. I was in charge of setting the table but I forgot the crackers and I lost the festive napkins! We usually clutter the table with the food but I decided that that's not how we will do it this year. The table ended up being quite simple but this is a difference to what we usually do things! One of my sisters made the food and I'd never seen the kitchen so calm on Christmas Day! I posted a few photos on Instagram, including a couple of cat pics like this one! You can find me and Oscar on Instagram, my username is @TempSec

I started the day in my Reindeer Christmas Jumper from BANK and later I got changed in to this outfit. We opened presents when everyone was awake and all together. We had so many presents under the tree this year - there was even one for Oscar! I'll blog about the gifts I got very soon. The day was spent with family, we ate chocolates, played new Wii/Xbox game and looked forward to sticky toffee pudding which Mum makes every Christmas. She uses the Delia Smith recipe and has been making them each Christmas for years and years! It's what we look forward to the most!

T-Shirt from Hero & Cape

I have been told by the guys at Hero&Cape that this Cool Story Bro t-shirt is currently one of the best sellers and I'm sure it's thanks to Zoe from Zoella as she has been wearing it on her YouTube videos and Instagram! I love both Zoe's and Sprinkle Of Glitter's videos! They always seem to have lots of fun and laughs together! Sorry this is a short post, my mind is all over the place and my lack of organisation is stressing me out. I thought I'd fit a blog post in whilst I am on a quick break! Off to go back to work in a bit whilst watching Christmas films!
