Blouse* Glamorous / Bag ASOS / Shoes Office / Black Ribbon random haberdashery! / Jewellery T:S / Nail Polish Bubblegum by Models Own

I'm getting a little bit distracted right now. This post is taking longer than usual because I'm fixated on the tv! 17 Again is on and I LOVE Zac Efron! Right - down to business! This bird print shirt is from Glamorous and unlike a lot that I have recently seen in the shops, this blouse is just a classic shaped blouse! I have seen lots of lovely sheer shirts and blouses with really cute prints on them but so many of them are dipped hem which I'm not very keen on. Call me boring, but I tend to like hems to be level. Don't get me wrong, I do like dipped hem in that every time I see someone wearing it, I'm looking on with envy and wish I could pull the style off. I guess I feel like dipped hems are too trendy for me! I ended up wearing my new bird print blouse with the sleeves slightly rolled up and I added a thin black ribbon under the collar. The skirt is an old one from Topshop, I bought it three years ago! Looking at these photos, I have realised how much I need a haircut!!!! Need to get some of that barnet chopped off!

Glamorous have kindly asked if I'd like to run a giveaway on my Facebook and Twitter to offer £50.00 gift voucher to spend on the website. It is nice to give something away for free! Their clothes are all reasonably priced so £50.00 would get you a couple of new items to add to your wardrobe! To enter the giveaway for the £50.00 voucher, please feel free to head over to the TempSec Facebook page and Twitter for more details! Thank you to Glamorous for offering the vouchers in the first place!

My camera broke this weekend (total panic!). I was snapping away and an error message came up on the viewfinder about the shutter release button. Nothing will make it go away so it needs to be repaired. Depending on how much the repair will be, I might just get a new one. My camera is a Nikon d40x, by the way. Apart from it conking out on me, I do recommend the D40x if you're looking to invest in your first DSLR (it was my first one too) but I had a few lessons at Uni on how to use it and what the settings are. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have known what to do! Like I have admitted before, I just press lots of button and hope for the best! I'm off to watch the Zefron now! Happy Sunday! x

Edit: The black wedged shoes I'm wearing here are now only £15.00 from Office. I purchased them when they were on sale for £30.00, but they've been discounted further! I wish I'd waited now! Anyway, here's the link to them if you fancy a new pair of shoes!

Everyday Make Up

Every now and then, I get asked what make up I use and so I thought that this would be a useful blog post to do. I will be writing about the products that I've used to create this look (above). The products pictured below are all bought with my own money, and being a typical girly girl, I have a lot of make up but these are products that I use on a daily basis (hence the messiness of how some of them look! I did try to clean them up before I photographed) and some that I have been repurchasing for years! I actually use the same make up during the day and for when I go out on an evening, I just wear it more heavier on a night out.

Now, I am not a make up guru and I rarely experiment with new colours but I do wear make (almost) every day and like most of you, I turn to blog and youtube for tutorials. I like finding make-up tutorials specifically for oriental girls as I find them more useful to me, especially when it comes to eye make up. I suppose I should've made this in to a video but I haven't got the confidence to do that! I have practised and practised but I can't bring myself to upload it. Anyway, I hope that some of you will find this blog post handy and that it answers some of the questions that some of you had about my every day make up!

my everyday make up, beauty blogger

Here's a snapshot of all the products I use for both day time and on a night out. The difference is that I apply a lot more of the product during a night out, and I set the make-up with a powder foundation for a matte coverage.

I usually save the Lancome La Base primer for nights out but I love the product so much that I decided to show you and recommend it. It's a smooth, oil-free and matte flawless finish, very similar to Benefit's Porefessional. The BB Cream is something I have recently been trying for the first time. I don't wear liquid foundation because I have yet to find a one that I like, so for now, BB Cream and Liz Earle Skin Tint will do!

my everyday make up, beauty blogger

I can't believe I have just caught on to the BB cream craze. I have come to the realisation that my skin isn't as good as it was a few years ago and when I noticed uneven skin tone, I was willing to give in to the hype! I have bought the Garnier one aswell but I prefer Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB. It is a little on the oily side so I try to avoid it on a hot day! It does the trick of hiding away redness, dark circles and evens out the skin tone.

The alternative is Liz Earle's Sheer Skin Tint (beige 02) which offers light-medium coverage. It gives a dewy look so it's not for those who love matte and full coverage but I really like it though. I like that it's natural and light - I don't like that "heavy" make up feeling throughout the day, it somehow agitates me!?!

Before I apply powder blush, and for a healthy glow, I use High Beam on the apples of my cheeks and this is a product that I've been buying for about 8 years! I first bought it when I was at college and it was a substitution to my favourite beauty product, the discontinued Lancome Illuminateur. I've only recently discovered that you're only suppose to keep High Beam for 6 months after opening (this is printed on the bottle) and my conclusion is that it's a very expensive product for something that has such a short expiry date. The concealor I use is by 17 Cosmetics from Boots. I don't need to invest in a high end concealor just yet so for now, the 17 Hide Away concealor will do! It's cheap, cheerful and does the job!

mac pinch me blusher blush

A lot of you have asked what blusher I use and I have about 4 different ones but this one from MAC (shade: Pinch Me) is the one I use the most! It's really pigmented, as most MAC products are, so it lasts a long time. Before this, I was using Sugarbomb by Benefit, but I much prefer the MAC one.

If I was stranded on a desert Island and was only allowed one luxury item, it would be pencil eyeliner! It's the only product that really transforms the way I look! I swear by MAC Kohl Pencil which I use the on the waterline, and the liquid eyeliner for the eyelids.

For years, I was using MAC Fluidline Gel Eyeliner but it was always drying out so quickly and I couldn't afford to keep buying so I decided to try the Eyeko Graffiti Pen which I purchased ages ago and it hasn't dried out yet! They have rebranded this product and it now called Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. It's a good products but if I'm going to nitpick, it's not as black as I'd like it to be and I will consider trying something else once this runs out! I am not loyal to any specific mascara, any will do for me as long as it doesn't clump my eye lashes together. The one pictured is MAC Opulash.

hd brow kit

I got the HD Brow Kit in one of the Glossyboxes, and I think it's my favourite product I've ever received from them! I use it all the time and I'm sorry the mirror is dirty. I tried to clean it with a tissue and then a cloth but the dust kept sticking to the mirror!

I use the black shade on my brow, and then I use the other 3 colours as eye shadow. I use a thin eye shadow brush to layer and contour, starting with the lightest colour and ending up with a sweep of black eye shadow.

I like how pigmented the HD Brow kit is, but I also LOVE the shade Carbon from MAC. It's got good staying power and I wear more of it on nights out! I always hear that girls with small eyes or asian girls should never use dark eye shadow because this makes the eyes appear even smaller, but I personally only wear dark eye shadows. In fact, I have only ever bought black/dark eye shadows. I think it accentuates my eyes and makes them look bigger and wider! I've tried blues and greens but I never feel comfortable - as much as I'd love to try different colours, I don't think it suits me at all.

mac lipstick lustering

In the first image, the lipstick I am wearing is Full Fuscia (again, from MAC) but you can't buy the shade anymore so here's an alternative. The lipstick in the photo is a shade called Lustering and it's more moisturising than Full Fuscia. It's a lovely sheer hot pink which is perfect for a dash of colour but it can be layered to create the full coverage, brightness and vibrancy of Full Fuscia. I would say that it's a lovely day time pink. If I feel that lipstick it a bit OTT for the day, I use Burt's Bee's tinted lip balm and my favourite colour is Pink Blossom.

Bodhi Bath & Shower Assemblage

Bodhi Bath and Shower Assemblage Gift Set* RRP £40.00 from CutECOsmetics

"bodhi skincare is inspired by traditional botanical remedies and contains select ingredients which are ethically sourced from sustainable origins. The Assemblage set is the perfect gift for someone special or for you own self-indulgence"

Here is another review for a cruelty free, natural and plant based product. This time it's the Bodhi Bath and Shower Assemblage gift set from CutECOsmetics which contains seven miniature bottles of their bestsellers. They are perfect for travel, the gym or to use when you've had a stressful day. The indulgent and luxury bath set comes in a sturdy and beautiful two tone brown box with a grey paper sleeve branded "bodhi". It immediately feels premium and it does the trick of building the excitement of wanting to discover what's inside the gift box. The contents are wrapped beautifully with brown tissue paper and the products are nested on chocolate brown shredding which makes a great contrast because the design of the bottles are really colourful and it makes a visual "pop" against the black and brown paper.

I usually prefer sweet and fruity smells but I am not all that fussy when it comes to bath products, I love trying everything and anything and have been trying them all for over a month now. Bodhi products are inspired by botanical remedies "as an anecdote to the stresses of modern life". Award-winning brand Bodhi do not test on animals, but on humans, and their products are free from paraben, animal ingredients, synthetic polymers, palm oil, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours and other harmful chemicals such as sulphates and phthalates. Each seven 50ml bottles in the box are all different smells and each ones is specifically designed and formulated to do certain things which is what's so great about this gift set, it gives you the chance to pick and choose which one is most suitable depending on the time of day, what you've gone through during the day, how you're feeling and how you want to feel. The bottles are packed with essential oils and a little goes a long way so the small bottles do seem to last long than you expect. In fact, I would probably advise not to put too much into your bath or when you're showering, because the aroma therapeutic smells and oils are so intense. You can purchase each one individually in a range of difference sizes, but here's a brief description of each of the ones I've tried:

- Jasmine Falls contains lavender and anti-oxidant red mandarin extract to relax the mind and body. This was the first one that I used, it was the most familiar smell and I couldn't wait to put some in my bubble bath.

- Rosemary Chi includes a mix of rosemary, geranium, petigrain and cedarwood oils. This mixture is suppose to revive you. I don't like plants in real life (I have an irrational fear of them!) so this bottle freaks me out a little bit. When I've finished being stupid and childish with my idiotic fear, I do like this smell. It's not something I wouldn't pick it out myself if I was to buy a new shower gel, but I'm glad this is in the set because I like trying different products.

- Palmarosa Verde is a purifying formula for when you are feeling sluggish and want a shower wash to freshen you up at the beginning of the day. It's an uplifting and awakening smell.

- Ylang Ylang Incensa is a sensual fragrance with oriental fusion of ylang ylang, honeysuckle, pink peppercorn and patchouli

- Pep Noir consists of black pepper and white thyme. This is a very strong scent formulated to literally brighten your day with the energising oils! It isn't my favourite smell from the lot, it smells quite masculine, like old spice. The smell doesn't linger though, and it's nice to use in the shower for that "pick me up" factor

- Galangal Spice is a vitalising shower gel. It does smell very medicinal, but this may be my new favourite because it's got a lot of great properties to it! It contains ginger-like roots of Galanga and Kaffir Lime Leaf which are warming and stimulating. It also has anti-septic, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. This formula can help ease depression, anxiety and fatigue. I will be using this a lot more to see if this is true.

- Mint Thé is the most refreshing scent as you can imagine. It's suppose to revitalise you after sports, the gym, and when you want a nice and fresh morning shower. It's a luxurious cleanser for your body and it is suitable for dull and oily skin. It is nourishing. The fusion of peppermint, spearmint and Eucalyptus dispels exhaustation and boost circulation.

Shiny Black Brogues

Dress Dahlia / Shoes* SoYouShoes.co.uk / Bag and cropped blazer ASOS / Hair Band T:S (will be available soon)

Have been meaning to show you all these pretty and cute brogue heels for weeks! I received them from So You Shoes last month but I haven't worn them until today so I thought I'd snap a few photos of them! I have often heard a lot of good things said about the brand on Twitter, especially about the Kitten flats! I decided to go for the brogues because I have always wanted a pair and I have lost count how many times I've tried the flat brogues on in the shops but I just don't suit them! I can't pull of the lovely tan brogues, I just look like a granny - not granny chic - just granny! However, I never thought of getting a heeled pair! It's great that they're shiny as well, it makes them look more trendy!

So...the big news is that I have been nominated in the Cosmo Blog Awards in the Established Blog Category! I didn't expect it because I've never been very good with competitions that rely on popularity votes. I have a complex about competitions and games like that so I tend to give up before it has even started! But I am really pleased and I was so surprised to see my blog on the shortlist! Thank you for everyone that nominated me! The news that I have been shortlisted has cheered me SO MUCH and it has motivated me to improve my blog! After reading a few negative tweets, I am now slightly paranoid - I am still very self conscious about my writing and my spelling, I know I'm not very good at writing but I like to keep my posts friendly, approachable and conversational. If you wanted to read something more formal, you'd turn to your Kindle or buy a magazine, right?! I have always said that I struggle with writing but I know that practise makes perfect. Anyway, I am going to remain positive and excited about this because it's a good and happy thing to have happened! To see who else has been shortlisted, you can visit this page - I am going to go through all the links this week because I am always keen to find new blogs to read and follow! Click here to vote for your favourites in each category - and hopefully Temporary:Secretary Blog will get your vote :) Lots of love! From me and Oscar x
