Union Jack Dress Motel Rocks* / Sunglasses RayBan / Jewellery T:S

I don't often wear printed bodycon in the daytime and definitely not for casual wear. I'm ok with wearing plain coloured body con dresses, I don't feel as self conscious as they are more versatile and you can smarten it up with a blazer and a pair of ballet pumps, but this new bodycon which has arrived Motel is so in keeping with the current patriotic theme that I think I can get away with it on a hot summer's day for a spot of Jubilee fashion? Maybe?! It will be nice to keep this forever and think back as to what it means. Like a piece of fashion souvenir to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee! Motel is well known for their wide range of dresses and their Zoe bodycon dress is available in lots of other prints and this Union Jack one is their latest addition. It's also available in a pastel colour way but I love how they have mixed the colours up a little bit so it's not as obvious, this bright Union Jack is pretty awesome! I feel like Ginger Spice in my new dress! (I really miss the Spice Girls!)

I was going to do a big Jubilee themed post but I'm going to split them in to two parts because I don't like each post to be too image-heavy! This one is the outfit post and there will be another next week. It's so lovely to see everyone so patriotic and united, it's really uplifting and makes me forget some of the bad (mainly, economic) things that we're all experiencing and hearing about on a daily basis! You really get the sense that everyone is really exciting for happy celebrations and extra days off, and it does give everyone that much needed boost! Anyway, back to the dress, I did initially try the dress on without tights but I am still feeling insecure about how pale my legs are! Need fake tan asap!

how to style denim shorts in summer

Blouse and Denim Shorts Fashion Union* / Jewellery T:S / Sandals River Island (old) / Sunnies RayBan / Hat Monki

Just like the rest of the country, I have been enjoying the sunny weather and I have got the pale pins and the ol' knobbly knees out! I love summer so much more than the cold winter months but weather like this always catch me off guard because it feels like we're in big coats one minute, and then summery attire the next! I feel totally unprepared for it! Right this minute, I look at the window and the sky is really gloomy and grey, so I better not put my coat away in the back of my wardrobe just yet! It also feels really strange without my thick opaque tights, it's like my security blanket and I always feel much better when my pasty legs are covered but it has been far too hot for tights!

It is my last month blogging for Fashion Union which is a seperate installment over on their blog The Edit, and I've chosen a summery outfit to style up. This is my favourite Fashion Union outfit out of the three that I've done as their guest blogger. I'm wearing a Vila Front Tie top with a pair of Vero Moda denim shortsYou can always rely on denim shorts! I'm not in to the "festival fashion" trend - probably because I have never been to a music festival and that trend means nothing to me. I do want to go to one but I guess it's just one of those things I've yet to do! Anyway, both garments go really well together as an outfit and it's probably the type of thing I would wear if I did go to one of the summer music festivals. The blouse is so nice, it's s cute and I love the front tie detailing - it is a loose-fit which is perfect for the balmy weather! It's breezy!

What I Wore... In 1988

Photobucket
I've been really out of the loop with my blogging lately, especially with outfit posts. I've spent the entire month meeting deadlines and sorting through accountancy work that should've been done a long time ago! I *should* be much more frequent with my blog posts after next week but in the meantime, I leave you with this outfit post with a difference! I said to myself that I would never post or write about anything personal and to keep the content of this blog purely fashion/style and beauty products but everyone's got these types of photos lying around and this photo is funny and it's so old, that I thought it would be appropriate to this blog because it's just like my outfit posts, except shorter and chubbier!

Anyway, it's just a short catch up today! Hope you're all having a nice weekend, and enjoying the lovely sunny weather! The Rekorderlig Cider giveaway ends tonight so if you haven't entered, and would like the chance to win a case of mango-raspberry cider, then here's what to do! Speak soon!

Megan Miller Nail Polish | From cutECOsmetics

Megan Miller Collection nail polish retails at cutECOsmetics - £8.95 each
- What I'm wearing: Megan Miller Collection in Foxy* / Rimmel Glitter Ball -

When CutECOsmetics introduced me to the Megan Miller Collection nail polish a couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with the packaging designs straight away! It's the cutest and most unique nail polish bottle I have ever seen! The first thing you will notice about it's appearance is the cork top, and then the cute little round-shaped bottle and the fact that the small raffia ribbon tie is natural too - it is handpicked and sun-dried from the palms of Madagascar! This product has impressed me on the appearance itself, it is such a unique nail polish and I was so eager to try it out. This collection of nail polish has not been tested on animals, as with all the beauty products that are stocked on cutECOsmetics, it is all cruelty-free and environmentally friendly. Megan Miller polishes does not contain Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Toluene and Formaldehyde.

The shade I'm wearing here is called Foxy, which is a cool slate grey with a slight hint of brown. I couldn't wait to try it on as soon as it arrived through the post! The consistency is little runny than what I'm used to but when you apply it, you come to realise that it is more creamy than watery. To begin with, due to the consistency, I thought it might go on quite streaky but as you can see, there are no streaks at all and this polish glides on so perfectly well to give full coverage and it leaves such a glossy finish, it really does feel high quality and premium. For something a bit extra, I've added a clear glitter polish over the top, plus a subtle foil polish on the ring finger as an accent. It is a very long-lasting polish and feels very resistant to chipping. Recently, the nail polishes I've been wearing have not only been chipping, but they've been peeling off! Feels like a wasted effort when it peels off after doing the dish washing! So it's nice that this Megan Miller polish has that staying power, and actually lasts a long time even after all the washing up, showers, hair wash, housework and jewellery-making! There are currently 12 shades available from cutECOsmetics, and they offer free standard delivery on all UK orders. I'm so happy with the polish and  really want everyone to know about this brand. I have never heard of it before until now (beauty n00b) and it's always nice to let people in on a little secret hidden gem!

Liz Earle Skin Care | Beauty Revolution

Photobucket

Photobucket

Since January, I have been trying out a couple of new skin care products. I was previously using Lancome, which was fine to begin with, but after a while I found that it was making my skin much worse, and it was time for a change. I am not very good when it comes to deciding on which brand to go for, it is very overwhelming with so much to choose from! How will I know what is best for my skin and what if I was spending my money on something that might make my skin worse? I am avid blog reader, and many will notice that Liz Earle skin care products are a hit with beauty bloggers so I was keen to give in to the hype and decided to try it for myself! I didn't even know about the brand until it was mentioned on blogs!

As you can see from the photos, I have been trying some Liz Earle products. I have purchase a couple more Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish (everything comes so perfectly wrapped, and they included a generous free customer sample in my last order) I also received a toner, and a moisturiser to complete my daily skincare routine. All of which free from harsh chemicals and are very light and gentle on skin.

The hot cloth cleanser is by far my favourite product out of the range. I love that you can use this over your eyes as well which ensures to eliminate all traces of stubborn eye make up such as mascara and liquid eyeliner. So many other products always strongly advises you to keep away from the contour of your eyes but this just goes to show how gentle the Cleanse and Polish is. It's a brilliant eye make up remover! The smell of the product itself isn't bad - just smells like plants - I wasn't keen at first but I have learnt to accept it. It is a pleasant product to use and it really feels like it has removed all traces of dirt and make up, which leaves skin feeling natural and clean.

It does feel that Liz Earle is a brand that you can trust and they want you to join the Beauty Revolution by offering Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish for £9.50 - for a limited time only. That's a saving of £4.75! I'll be stocking up because it is a product that I have come to rely on!

Giveaways are rare on this blog, but I just couldn't say no to this one! I thought this would be a lovely treat, and let's face it, who doesn't love a free drink! Rekorderlig is a premium cider and is available in the most yummiest flavours; strawberry & lime, pear, apple, wild berries, apple & blackcurrant, orange & ginger,  and winter cider. I think my favourite is the wild berries, but it is difficult to choose just the one! Rekorderlig Cider have recently launched a new flavour mango & raspberry. I thought it might be quite a tangy and sour in taste but it's such a fruity and subtle with a very summery fragrance and it is the prettiest raspberry colour.

Each case contains 8 x 500ml bottles (Alc 4.0% Vol), all in mango-raspberry flavour. The giveaway ends just before the end of the month, so you may get your cider in time for the Jubilee weekend!
