Gold Collar Tips: ebay

The gold collar tips are from eBay, just search for collar tips and loads of different ones will come up with prices ranging from 99p - £7. I also bought some silver ones which I've put on my denim shirt. Collar tip shirts are fashionable at the moment and there are some lovely ones from Zara. However, The white shirt I'm wearing here is an old one from Topshop and all I've done is added the detachable collar tips.

A little bit of an update on something we've been working on. This has all happened very quickly - and I like to be kept on my toes - but I am now a guest blogger for a fashion brand called Fashion Union. Fashion Union are a clothing and accessories brand, and they have just launched a new blog called The Edit. The layout is clean and sleek, easy to navigate.  I will be blogging for them once a month during Spring. You can read my introduction here or click image below. My first blog post will be up in a few days!

How To Style: A Red Stripy Dress

how to style a stripy dress, how to style a striped dress, fashion blogger uk

I have worn this stripy dress in a few outfit posts before but I love it. It's from Topshop, I bought this one in the sales and I have it in the blue stripe as well. I've accessorised with a black ribbon and a white peter pan collar top underneath.

I think I've finally found a space inside the house to take photos! It is a tiny space so quite restricting but going to see how it goes. Being indoors and not having enough light, I've had to use the flash on the camera which I really dislike as I am a fan of natural lighting and using the flash can give the photos a "harsh" artificial look. I hate getting bogged down by technical things like that. I'm just going to go with the flow this time!

Skincare Products

My skin hasn't been the best condition at the moment, there are typically good days and bad days. I think it's due to the skin care products I'm currently using that makes it more oily than it actually is or perhaps it is the lack of water I drink. Like most women, though, I hide blemishes with make up - sometimes that only makes it worst! I've had to wear foundation a lot more these days. As I mentioned before, La Base Primer from Lancome is a huge help as it makes skin looks smooth and prepares it well for a flawless make up application.

I have been using Lancome skincare products for years now, about 12-13 years or so. It just doesn't work for my skin anymore and I am now trying out a few other brands including Clinique, Decleor, Elemis and Liz Earle. I always thought that as long as the product is expensive, it was guaranteed to work! I've come to realise that this is not correct! Having read the reviews on blogs and in magazines, I recently tried Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish. Out of the products I have recently tried, it has been the best for my skin. I was keen to try this and I am now considering changing from Lancome to Liz Earle skincare products. Another brand that I love is Dermalogica - the exfoliator and mask (pictured above) are samples from a previous GlossyBox. I know everyone's skin is different but if you have any recommendations, please feel free to let me know! I was wondering if you all stick to one brand for all your skincare products, or do you mix and match?

Dress Madam Rage / Jewellery Temporary:Secretary / Nails Barry M (Lemon Ice Cream)

I was a huge fan of The Pipettes (original line up) and have been to see them twice so this polka dot dress from Madam Rage really reminds me of them. I was pleased when The Pipettes wore TempSec jewellery during their tour in 2008. I always say you can't go wrong with polka dots! T

he sleeves on this dress is really nice, and it bulks me up a little bit! Madam Rage are offering free delivery at the moment, I know everyone's a big fan of free delivery promotions!

I've been reading a lot of tweets, blog posts and online magazine coverage on London Fashion Week. I've never been bothered about it before and I've never even heard of some of the designers, but I've enjoyed reading about everyone's experiences. I've ever spotted some familiar faces on some of the street style articles. I look forward to hearing about the catwalk, the collections and what key trends are coming up!

I've been a bit slow with blogging this month. Haven't felt so well! I'm much better now and shall get myself organised! Hope you've all been well. Lot of love xxx

Outfit: Bird Print Shirt

Shirt c/o FM Boutique / Shoes c/o RunwayShoes / Blazer ASOS / Skirt Topshop / Jewellery Temporary:Secretary

Bird print is a big trend this Spring/Summer and this bird print sheer shirt I'm wearing is from FM Boutique.

It's a sheer material with a contrasting blue collar and gold buttons. The print is really nice, I like the hand-drawn feel of it as opposed to a repeated vector image. The hemline of this shirt is a drop back (the back is longer than the front) which I am not so keen on.

I love the idea of it and they always look awesome on other people but I don't feel I can pull it off so how I would wear this shirt? Simply tucked in. I like the smart look anyway!

Wonderbra: Ultimate Plunge

Wonderbra is known for being functional, and when it comes to looking your best, Wonderbra has the solution! I was wearing a sheer blouse today and I just wore a plain white vest underneath but the model on the website is just donning a bra with the shirt. This lead me to think about "solution underwear". You know, where you have certain bras to wear with certain outfits. Strapless for bodices without straps, pretty bras for sheer tops, and multiway strap bras where the straps can be put in place to suit whatever type of top you are wearing, whether this is halter-neck or racer back.

Wonderbra are a great brand for designing solutions for women. Functional yet brings confidence. The latest one that would be handy to have in your drawers is the Ultimate Plunge Bra, perfect for deep V necklines and plunging ensembles! The friendly team at Wonderba sent me one to try and I have decided to tell you all about it because it is one of those products that's useful to know about. For me, solution bras are good investments! I haven't been able to wear this with a proper plunging neckline top/dress like these celebs because a) I haven't got anywhere glam to go to! and b) I don't have anything in my wardrobe to wear the bra with. I would not usually purchase plunging neckline garments because I haven't got the chest for it - going for double sided tape and bra-less is not a good look for me! (think: ironing board!) However, now I have an Wonderbra Ultimate Plunge Bra, I will not rule out dresses where there's a deep neckline! It gives me confidence to purchase glamourous dresses like the ones you can see below.

Dahlia Fashion: Beatrice Dress

It feels like I haven't done an outfit post in ages! The weather is to blame for that! Whilst I had mustered the energy to go outside in the cold yesterday, I decided to get a couple of outfits photographed so that I can go back in to hibernation until the snow and ice melts away!

This is my third month blogging for Dahlia's blog, and I am wearing their Beatrice dress here which is a gorgeous shade of green with lovely neckline detailing. I will be wearing it a lot more when the weather improves. The shoes I'm wearing here are from Runway Shoes and they are a black velvety T-Bar platform shoes. I love platforms and I love chunky heels, such a good combo! If you've never been on Runway Shoes before, you'll be amazed by the choices of shoes they have! So many shoes in all kinds of colours at such good prices too. I'm not brave enough to go for garish colours but I will eventually treat myself to a pair of colourful heels at some point! I just think it's safer to go for black as they go with everything!

GlossyBox: Valentine's Day Edition

First day of February and I thought I'd blog about the latest edition of GlossyBox which is a Valentine's Day special. I couldn't resist this box, I did unsubscribed (had to sacrifice a few things in order to save up) but I would have subscribed again after seeing the review! GlossyBox sent me a complementary box to review. This GlossyBox is the January 2012 edition.

This special edition of GlossyBox is hot pink. As usual, there's a few variations - I know some boxes will have Clarins samples - but mine contained Eyeko Eyeliner, Murad Primer, F.A.B body wash and Davine's cleansing nectar and moisturising balm. I am pleased that there isn't any perfume samples in the box, I am not a big fan of them. Amongst the samples, I've yet to try the cleansing nectar and moisurising balm. These are dual use so can be used on body or hair. I love that there's make up in the box, and especially from a brand like Eyeko who have recently re-branded, but the shade of the eyeliner isn't one I would go for or buy again. It is still nice to try something new, though! I will still try it and make the most of it, and who knows, maybe I will end up liking it... and I guess that's the whole point of GlossyBox! I tried the Murad Skin Perfecting Primer straight away, it is light and dewy and I really like it and I will repurchase when the sample runs out. I didn't expect it to be tinted but it's not an overpowering colour, and it blends with my skin tone really well. It gives your skin a natural looking radiant glow and it is also nice alternative to high lighters/illuminators which can sometimes feel quite heavy and sticky. I have a few other primers in my make up bag, but I often use Benefit's High Beam on my cheeks under foundation and powder blush, this is to make the colour of the blusher last longer throughout the day but it can sometimes feel too much, especially on a sunny day! I'm happy to have discovered Murad via Glossybox! Especially as it's not widely available, I would never have known to try it.

I think it's really nice that GlossyBox does these special edition boxes in a different colour to their usual pale pink (The December box was red). It is a nice touch, and the change makes people more intrigued about the contents of them. I even prefer the hot pink box to the usual mute pink. A great marketing idea!
